Everything started off pretty normal and builder came of trustworthy. As construction started, problems started almost right away. Builder would not respond to phone calls or emails and was very disorganized. Plans submitted to Village for permits and plans provided to homeowner we not the right drawings as changes were made prior to construction. Corrected drawings were never drafted or provided by builder even though we requested them. Crews were given the wrong drawings and made several mistakes in layout which had to be corrected. Materials were not ordered in time which delayed schedule. Builder guaranteed 90-120 days to complete home and missed the mark by many months. As the project progressed the builder started pulling crews off the job for days/weeks to work on other projects. There were to many issues during construction to list. As the closing neared, the closing date kept getting pushed back due to builder not being ready causing our rates that were locked to go up. Bulder made closing very difficult and would not agree to SGrow funds being set aside as requested for unfinished items on punchlist. After closing contractors hired by buildelr to perform work during constructiln stopped by informing us that they were not paid by builder even though we were provided with lein wavers at closing. After closing water spots were noticed on the floor by the fireplace and the builder was notified and we were told that it was just dust/construction debris blowing in and that there were no issues. Since builder did not provide hearth required by code by fireplace, we hired someone to install one. When the wood floor was cut back the subfloor was completly saturated. Luck would have it, we had rain in forecast for a week or two and the fire place had a severe leak and leaked for weeks before being corrected with absolutly no urgency by the builder. Currently after 1 year being in the house the punch list / warranty items are still not completed and builder has shown little to no effort to resolve them and will most likely never complete them. Just to name a few items on the warranty/punch list, we have a sliding door that leaks during the rainy months and has a horrible draft during winter months that was submitted as a warranty claim that builder refuses to replace/repair. Builder burried siding with dirt during grading and has not corrected the issue. Siding on the house looks horrible and has many areas that need to be repaired. Builder poured concrete over a future bathroom drain for the bathtub when pouring basement slab and was notified before closing and still hasnt corrected. The list goes on and on. After meeting other neighbors who have built back here with the same builder it seems that everyone else also had the same problems and were very unhappy. Sorry for the long detail list. Please avoid this builder at all cost when building new or remodeling. Save yourself the money and do not put yourself through the same torment and heartache that we went through. I will be notifying other neighbors of this Angies List Report/Revies and will have them post reviews and issues as well.
