When I explained to the HVAC person that the dishwasher repairman suggested that I might have a problem with too many things on the breaker, or inadequate electrical service for all the demands I had, or a number of other costly potential problems, he laughed and said that none of those expensive things would be the problem, so I was relieved even before he started looking for the problem. And then it turned out to be so simple. He also gave me a good referral for a reliable appliance repair person in the future.

Overall they’ve been great. They get someone out quickly. Those guys that have been out are thorough professionals. They seemed to know what they’re doing and we’re quite happy with them. I will use their services again in the future.

Fast and professional, and he cleaned up everything before he left --even disposed of the old filter.

We were pleased wiith their expedient service, but wish the part would have been available so that we could have paid for just one service call.

Repair from kitchen facet to upstairs bathroom

I've used them twice and I'm very pleased. They are reasonable and very timely. They fixed my problem right away. They were here three weeks ago with one days notice and it was a Saturday. The last time a year ago I needed them too and they were just stunner. The price will never go back to the way it used to be but they are cheaper than other people. The quality seems great. They showed me what they used and the broken one so I'm assuming that it was very good. Their responsiveness was incredible. I called them late in the afternoon the day before and they were here the next morning. They were right on time.

He charged me $125.00 to turn the breaker on. I was very upset. I brought to the owners attention that I was not made aware of any additional cost to the job. The owner of the company spoke with the employee and corrected the issue. He ended up refunding the difference between what I expected to pay and what I was charged. It was very nice to see that the owner stepped up and took responsibilty of the employee. I was very happy and suprised that the owner refunded the difference. I was very impressed that he truely cared about his companies reputation and keeping me as a future customer.

They returned a non itemized quote with one overpriced option for the furnace/ac work and no explanation of what they were selling me. One non-itemized option for the water heater, this didn't even include brand / model, and never bothered to quote the fireplace work after two subsequent requests for a full quote. I thought they would be a nice one stop shop, but my impression is that they're not interested in residential business. I'm going the route of hiring individual contractors for the various aspects of the project. With the furnace alone, I'm managing to spend less and get more through one of the top rated angieslist companies in the area. I'll find a decent plumber and fireplace person next. Jack of all trades = fail. EDIT: Owner did contact me upset about this report. It is clear that I was wrong to say they don't want residential work. They clearly do. To clarify for comparison, the hvac company I'm going with provided a quote with three separate furnace choices from two separate brands with varying efficiencies and four different AC units again from two different brands - varying efficiencies, product paperwork on the recommended solution, information on the energy tax credits associated with the products, information on a focus on energy rebate I had no idea about, itemized warranty, removal, electrical, gas, permits, taxes, and itemized an optional better air filter and an optional humidifier in the quote. The other company can provide a more efficient two stage furnace from a top brand, more efficient AC, humidifier, and an HE air cleaner for same price before the tax credits and FOE rebates than the lower efficiency furnace solutions minus humidifier and air cleaner from action which is not eligible for either the FOE credit or tax rebate. And no, the competitor never saw the quote from action or had any idea what they were bidding against. I do sympathize with the entrepreneur and his desire to run a good business, and must admit that my biggest peeve in the whole transaction is that they completely ignored my requests for a quote on the fireplace. Their ability to do that work was what set them apart and put them at the top of my list for potential contractors. My recommendation would be to spend some time ironing out your sales cycle for HVAC. It's a big investment for homeowners that is on a 15 to 20 year cycle. It's a big decision point for us and we want help understanding the technology options in the current market, and what other additional options we should consider as we make that investment. A single option non-itemized three line quote at higher prices while ignoring one of the pieces of work you were asked to bid just didn't measure up to what the competition was doing.

Very well. Action plumbing always courteous , responsive, keeps job site very clean, carried pieces of old concrete tub out over my wood floors, no dirt or scratches.

I had a good experience and I am happy with them. He was very creative about trying to fix it. He tried to fix the problem without costing me a lot of money. The price was absolutely good. I have used them before and I've always been happy with them. They are very punctual. I will absolutely continue to use them.

My toilet overflowed and kept running, getting into the air ducts and leaking in several places in the basement. I called Action and was told a tech would be out sometime this afternoon. The tech called no more than 15 mins later, and he was at my house about 30 mins after that! COST: The cost I was quoted over the phone was $80 for the first 30 mins, then $25 per 15 mins thereafter (+ parts). I was concerned about the price, but the efficiency of the tech (Josh) made this a very cost-effective trip. The fact that he got here within an hour of my calling Action is well worth the price, and the peace of mind I get from knowing I won't have damage to my furnace is priceless.

They were very courteous and did a great job. They cleaned up the place themselves after the job. I liked their services and will use the same in future.

This was not a simple job, we had removed the original sink cabinet with no problem, but had been trying for weeks to get the old 45º iron pipe elbow off the pipe in the wall with no success. Even liberal applications of penetrating oil and a 3-foot wrench extender weren't enough to break the fitting loose. Home-snaking wasn't opening up the drains either, although we managed to bust a power snake trying. The Man from Action (Trevor) showed up right on time, and was as professional and courteous as we have come to expect from Action Plumbing H&A. The work took about three hours, and he ended up using about a hundred dollars in parts by the time it was all done. He cleaned up after himself, and even did a very smooth job caulking the sink to the wall. The one thing that we wish Action would improve on is giving customers a better estimate (or even any idea) up front how much labor and parts are likely to cost. We've used them in the past, and that's always been an issue. In general, however, we would recommend Action and are very likely to use them again.

They came out twice. The first time they replaced an electronic sensor, and cleaned everything up. We continued to have problems, so they returned again and moved the ignitor closer to the oilot light. They didn't charge us for the second visit, which we appreciated.

They were quick to respond. I called them in the morning and they were able to come out the same day. They do speedy service. They said they were going to call half an hour before they came which they didn't and they just showed up. I was expecting a call before they came.

The service professional came over and looked at the water heater, he determined that a part needed replacing. He had the part in his truck, and fixed the water heater. It took him only about 20 minutes.

I spent probably $150 on that last service. I have used them for quite a long time and I like them. They have always been prompt, helpful and haven?t been too expensive. They have been nice, clean and don?t leave a mess. They are good plumbers and I haven?t had any problems with them, so I keep asking them back.

I used them because they were the fastest to respond. They came out within about 20 minutes. They diagnosed the problem and were here within 8 hours to put in a new furnace. They came at 8 am. I would definitely use them again in the future.

We originally had air duct cleaning and a furnace and A/C inspection/servicing done. They were able to schedule the appointment very quickly after I called, and tech seemed very professional. We wanted an opinion about our almost 30 year-old furnace and if he thought we needed a new one. He said that it was working well now, but due to the age of the unit he would recommend a new one in the near future. We decided to use Action for our furnace replacement because of our good experience with them, and they did a great job for this too.

Our furnace was not coming on and the fan was running continually even when we turned everything off at the thermostat. Of course it was on a weekend. Action, however, does not charge extra for Saturday calls. We called at 9:00 AM and had a service person here by 11:15. He found a problem in one of the components, made the repair and everything worked fine. He was here about 2 hours and updated us several times about his diagnosis and recommendations. We would definitely call again if we have heating issues.

I was having trouble getting people to do this job but Action came the day after I called. They were in and out of here in a short amount of time and everything went perfectly. The cleanup was good and I was satisfied with the price.

The water heater they installed less than 2 years before was leaking. They replaced it but said they would not replace another one under warranty. This seemed a little strange but we just paid for the labor on the water heater and a leaking pipe.

Very fast response for both my calls (broken faucet and water heater). The repairmen were very courteous, informed me of what was happening at every step of the process, and gave me advice for improving the performance of my plumbing.

Sewer back up late on a Sunday evening. I called Action and they sent someone over quite promptly. He scoped the drain with a camera on a probe but could not clearly identify the problem or clear the clog. He surmised that the problem must be related to our check valve, which he then set out to replace. He might just have to take it out, he said, because he wasn't sure he could replace it. The check valve was under a carpeted area near the corner of an area in our basement. But instead of pulling up the carpet from the corner, he slashed raggedly through it. He dug down to the valve (it was under about 12 inches or so of sand) but he couldn't get it opened. He managed to break off one bolt, and let it go at that. He said we should have someone come and rip up our concrete floor and replace the drain. He snaked out the sewer and got it clear, but he never was able to identify where it was really plugged. At the end of night, we had the drain clear. But our carpet was pointlessly mangled, and we had no idea what had caused the problem, and whether we had it fixed. So far, after about 6 months, the drain seems fine.
