+ 0 moreEverything wen't perfectly. Installers came precisely on time. They explained every part of the procedure. They walked me through the whole installation. Within a few hours, we had our central AC in place and our house was cooling. They checked our duct work and answered a few of my duct questions. I couldn't have been happier with the whole experience, except for the central air unit dying. I would absolutely use the company again. They were fast and professional. Fantastic job
Description of Work: On one of the hottest Sunday's of the year, our central AC died. A tech came out on Sunday morning and got us going again. He told us our AC was shot and probably wouldn't last the day. We got scheduled for Monday to replace the central AC.

+ -1 moreI called Action Plumbing and they were able to come out the same day. The technician was very helpful and explained exactly what he needed to do to fix the problem and why. He detailed fully the costs involved prior to starting any work. He was knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. WIthin the hour, our AC was working again. I have never had a bad experience with Action Plumbing & AC. They are great and I would highly recommend them.

+ 0 moreAction Heating staff knew exactly what I needed when I placed the call to replace the water heater fan, but arrived to repair the fan "without" a new fan and had to go back to the shop to get one. The "meter continued to tick" and labor was being charged to me for the entire time the tech arrived at my home, left to get the fan at the shop, and drove back to my house. Totally unacceptable.Then the tech took it upon himself to decide to change the vent pipe leading from the heater to outside....our home was only 6 yrs old and it was inspected at the time of construction / completion so the venting pipe was sufficient. and up to code. More labor and equipment / supplies were added to the invoice. Total bill came to over $900 for a fan replacement. I stopped my credit card pmt and Action was willing to negotiate a reduced price. It was a very unpleasant experience and I will never have them back in my house again. Their advertisement of no travel is bogus.....they hide the cost in unnecessary labor and supplies.

I appreciate the professionalism and friendliness from the person who took my call. I also appreciate the quick service--same day. Thank you.

After discussing the faucet issue with my husband, it was decided that the whole faucet should be replaced rather than rebuilt. Once again, I like the friendly, quick service and am willing to pay a little extra for it.

They respected my home by wearing covers on their shoes. The overall experience was excellent. The price and quality were excellent. They were punctual and responsive. + 1 moreThey took a long lunch and tried to charge us when they weren't here. At the end of the day, I was so upset with them and told them I'd be talking to a lawyer and wasn't paying anything that night and needed a breakdown of the bill. The manager Andy said ok. I was in a hurry trying to take my son to an appointment and the lead worker still tried to have me sign something in the dark, as I'm walking to my car. I wasn't signing anything in the dark after the manager agreed to let me do it the next day.
Description of Work: Our sewer pipes backed up into our basement and I called Action because we had used them before and I don't remember there being any issues. Long story short, they found a break in the pipe in the middle of our yard and the entire sewer pipe from the street to our house had to be replaced, including some pipe under concrete floor in our house. They said it was $360/hr for the backhoe/labor to replace this. They mentioned that there is always a possibility that they could accidentally break the water line too while digging but that it was "all part of the service call". I guess I should have asked for better clarification on that phrase before I had them do the work. Although, even after the fact they couldnt explain to me what that meant. The bottom line is, they broke the water line and they were going to make us pay to replace it. I was NOT told that WE would have to pay if THEY broke it. They did not draw up any kind of contract for this work (which again, I realized after the fact was strange). The workers also tracked in a lot of mud/sewer dirt all over our basement and carpeted steps. They did agree to pay stanley steamer to clean carpets (although stanley steamer is sending us the bills, even after I gave the bill to Action). They left our yard a huge mess. They left a big hole right up by our house so when it rains the water will run directly down to our foundation, and a big hole by the street. I understand the dirt takes time to settle, but this was unprofessional. They said they'd come back but never did. They took forever to get a bill breakdown sent to our insurance company as well.

+ -1 moreI wasn't happy with their prices. They came to fix a problem, and they didn't fix it. They ordered the part that was needed to be replaced. Instead of using the charge from the previous visit, they charged me on top of that to install it. I wouldn't use them again. While they were working on the toilet, the part wasn't in there quite right. I had to tell the plumber to rotate it in one direction to create clearance.
Description of Work: They fixed a plumbing problem with the toilet.

Description of Work: This is the second time that i have had to call Action, and they are just a wonderful company. Our water heater actually exploded, water everywhere....they were on their way over within an hour, and had totally replaced our water heater and cleaned everything up. I don't usually get excited about a plumber, but I will say that I love this company. They are in my permanent Rolodex.

He arrived about an hour later with QTRE110 which was $ 86.00 more than the previous model. The removal and installation went quickly. He told me I could vacuum the old unit and use it as a backup for my second bathroom.

+ 0 moreOn Christmas Eve we discovered our water heater leaking over the basement floor. Very few companies were even answering their phones, and Action not only had the best price we were quoted, they were the only one with an on-call technician who could come right out and replace our water heater. (And please note--the price was a couple of hundred less than other places despite the fact that the work was being done on a Saturday AND a holiday!) When it was realized that the wrong size water heater had been brought (our mistake, not Action's), Bryan went right back to get ther right size, and still finished the work in the time he had allotted. The whole process could not have gone more smoothly!

+ 1 moreThey are my regular plumber. They are always extremely prompt. They are on the pricey side but they do an excellent job of fixing whatever it is that needs fixing. Usually they fix it the first time. With this, it was more difficult.
Description of Work: They repaired my tank-less water heater. They first diagnosed what the problem was. It's a fairly new piece of technology so it's not the easiest thing to figure out. It actually took three visits before we got down to what the root cause was. It was a challenging repair. There was a little hose inside that had split somehow. Once they figured out that was the problem everything has been perfect since.

He checked the plumbing in the basement and indicated that everything was properly plumbed. He explained a lot about how things work, which was appreciated. Good job! I felt a little foolish, as everything was working properly. He didn't make me feel that way, though.

+ 1 moreI called Action Plumbing to get an estimate on a new water heater and water softener. Andy, who gave me a quote, was very nice and not at all patronizing. In talking to me more, Andy thought that we may not need a new water softener; that maybe we just need it reset. I scheduled the appointment for a new water heater for 8:30 am. Pat called me at 8:15 am and said that he would be there in 15 minutes and he was. He entered our home with booties over his work boots. After he installed the water heater, he explained how he installed it and that he checked for gas leaks. He said that he double checks for gas leaks and takes this very seriously since the unfortunate incident in Sun Prairie. He also checked the hardness of our water and said that we didn't need a new water softener. Pat was very nice, he didn't seem rushed, and he answered all my questions. He explained in detail how he installed the water heater and showed me the components of our new water heater.
Description of Work: Action Plumbing installed a new water heater, checked the hardness of our water, and reset our water softener.

They continue to send me lots of material with specials and stuff. They had a real nice brochure. They do a million things; they do everything including plumbing and HVAC. They did excellent work for me.
Description of Work: I had a power surge, and I lost a lot of equipment including the control board from my dryer. My TV was short circuited. Action Plumbing Heating & Electric was one of the repair companies that came out to help me.
