Estimator was punctual, he offered example photos of other work JBS performed, and discussed in detail all the options to consider.

Old driveway was removed in 1 day and new one poured the next. JBS showed up with plenty of workers to do this large driveway in 2 days. These people obviously knew what they were doing. During the first heavy rain after new driveway installation I sat outside in a raincoat and enjoyed watching the water running away from the house. They listened to the problem and addressed it well.

We received our quote in Jan. 2017. Originally, we were a bit apprehensive to sign the contract because the amount was so much lower than the other bids we received. Based on a thorough comparison of what was quoted (they were the same specs) and Angie's List reviews we decided to give them a chance. We signed our contract and waited for our yard to dry out. JBS was very understanding as we had to wave them off a couple of times due to the softness of the new yard. When is was finally time to get to work, the crew was friendly and more than willing to adjust the final layout of the forms until I was happy with how it looked. They finished their prep work on the first day and were back the next for the pour. That went equally as well. They left after the pour and one of the owners stopped by later to spray on the sealer. We are very happy with the work and the price!

Looks beautiful. Team was on time, respectful, responsive to our needs, cleaned up thoroughly when done. They asked the right questions to make sure we were getting exactly what we wanted. The pitch of the concrete was done perfectly in each area.

Called for quote. Set up time. Wayne came out and answered all of my questions. He also had a phone conversation with my husband to answer his questions. We signed the contract and mailed it in. A few weeks later we got a phone call to set an official date (depending on weather of course). Set up crew showed up on time on Tues morning. They were very professional and patient. They helped with ideas for the front walk and gave me pros and cons to help me make a final decisions on layout to make it the most user friendly (not have people drive off into the culvert, no sharp turns for easier mowing, etc). They all worked very hard and got the tear out, downspout trenching and forms laid in one day. The pouring crew arrived Wed. Also very professional and hard working. They cleaned up after themselves (road and yard) and left us with an amazing new driveway! So far we are extremely please with the finished product! The neighbors (adults and kids) enjoyed watching the process - I was very impressed with how smooth they all worked together. They certainly have a system in place. Now... onto the landscape part of the project!

Not good. I had an appointment for an estimate at 8am on May 22nd and they never showed up and didn't call.

We are very satisfied with price, quality of work, speed of work and clean up. Only 2 main reasons why we did not give an A rating which may not influence others. After submitting a deposit we would have appreciated a call letting us know that the check had been received and at least a general idea of when work would commence. Instead we called three different times and finally received an answer three weeks later. Perhaps my biggest disappointment was that as the workers were pouring the driveway they had a young audience of both mine and my neighbors children (ages 2-8). One of the workers let out an f-bomb. While I can understand that and let it go I was ver upset when this man was alerted to his language by in English of his co-workers and he proceeded to look straight at his young audience and loudly say again "I don't give a f***." That was simply uncalled for, unprofessional and disrespectful to us as the homeowner and paying customer. All that being said, we are pleased with the work and the professionalism of the company itself. Thanks for a job well done.

That company is amazing as far as their concrete work. They were punctual. They worked with me with a budget. Their work is fantastic.

Wayne came out for the estimate and was professional and gave his honest opinion. The crew who came out and did the prep work was so friendly and nice, fast and cleaned up after. The next morning the concrete crew came out and did a very good job, the work looks really nice.

The person that answered the phone was very friendly, but informed me that they have a $2500 minimum.

It went great. They squeezed me in at the end of the season. Their estimate was not the lowest. The cost probably reflects the length of my driveway. Other contractor estimates were very close in price. They came early in the morning with all their equipment and trucks and finished it all in one day. The finish was very impressive and impressed the neighbors. Several of the neighbors had driveways done and clued me in as to what to watch out for (overly large sections, porous gravel, failure to put felt strips where abutting other concrete) and JBS was ahead of me on all these things. The only complaint i had was that they left a large rut down each side of the driveway that I had to hire a landscaper to fill in. If I had known that was going to happen, i would have asked them to leave me the pile of topsoil and sod that they removed and hauled away. I would have asked them to set it on the side and I could fill it in myself. It would be nice if they would let homeowners know that they'll have this to deal with. On the other hand, every time I walk down the driveway, I am glad that I hired JBS.

When they came out for an estimate, they brought photos from previous jobs they had done that I could look through while they took measurements. They came in lower than the other quotes we had.

It went great and the work was done in 2 and a half days. It was a big messy job too, our house(built in 1929 it was) was full of odd ball surprises and they made everything most awesome!

The driveway is fairly simple, extending from a detached garage to the street, with a culvert pipe under the driveway near the street. The sides of the driveway are bordered by grass over 75% of the sides and a brick walk on the other 25%. There was an invisible dog fence wire under the first row of bricks, which they were careful not to damage. The new driveway also replaced and corrected a 3 foot wide concrete apron at the opening of the garage that had a reverse slope, retaining water. The other challenge was the hump near the end of the driveway due to the culvert pipe. They excavated the ground under the pipe. so it could be lowered to provide the required concrete thickness on top of the tube. At my request, they also cut out about 6" of the existing garage slab, on the outside of the garage door, which had some spalling or chip-outs, so that looks much better with the new concrete. The concrete is reinforced with steel mesh. The estimated date for the job was late June or early July, but they called in early June to ask if they could do it, which was OK. The whole job was done in one day, which minimized disruption. They brought in the equipment, the workers and the concrete and the job got done. The only negative point was that I think I spoke to three different people for the quote, the marking of the border of the driveway and then the foreman of the crew on job day. The result was that new driveway had a slightly different border when the forms were put in than what was originally discussed. I did not see this until the forms were already in and I did not mind, but my spouse did not like the change. The foreman had not seen how it was marked and discussed previously. Overall, they met my expectations and maybe a little beyond and it looks like good work.

I contacted the office and Jeff returned my call the same day to set up an appointment. He was prompt for the appointment and really explained the job well. He came back again to meet with my wife and I to pick a color and pattern for the stamped concrete walk. At this time, we decided to do stamped concrete inset into a concrete border for our walkway, which he showed us in pictures. This slightly changed the pricing, but it was agreed upon and we signed a contract. About 2 weeks later (and a week or 2 early!) Jeff called and made sure we were ready for our installation. The crew came out as scheduled, including both owners Jeff and Brian, and set all the forms in one day. They returned early the following day, and the job was completed as promised. Everything was top notch. They even set our mailbox post at no charge with some of the extra concrete they had.

I called JBS Construction for a quote on a driveway and walk to the front door. The quote for both came in at $11,160.00 more then twice the cost of black top. I decided to go with the quote (sealer) from Merit Asphalt but still wanted the concrete walk done this year and the driveway done in 2016. When I asked Wayne from JBS to quote the walkway he told me that it would cost $2,500.00 (4ft x 33ft) he stated that he would have to charge more because it would not pay for him to take on a small project like this one and if he did he would have to get paid more to make it worth his while. He recommended that I find a contractor that would do the job for less. This was my first use of Angie's List and I was not pleased with the results.

Talked to a person in the office and let them know what i was looking for in concrete repair and pour. Told them my address and she needed to check with the owner if they'd go out that far in Ozaukee county. He told her that they don't go north of highway 33. we live only 10-15 mins north of highway 33 in Belgium, near Port Washington, WI. i was a little disappointed with that information considering their service area indicated Ozaukee County not just certain parts of it.

The service was excellent. The staff was excellent. They left the area in good order. They were prompt as they scheduled.

Service went extremely well, every appointment was kept and the work finished smoothly just before Winter really started to come in! Very happy with new patio.

We got three estimates from contractors recommended on Angies List and chose JBS, not because it was lowest, but because we had confidence in Jeff's thorough explanation of the way the work would be done. We also like the fact that they were licensed to do the sidewalk and repair our chimney. Brian phoned the day before, as we were told, then reviewed the details of the job early that morning. A crew of eight was on the job by 7:30 am - each man knew what to do. There were no harsh words - no unpleasantness. By 9:30 the old driveway and sidewalk were out and gone. They began pouring the concrete at 12:30 and were gone by mid-afternoon. The squares on our drive are brushed in alternate directions - a nice touch. The walk has a gentle curve as we asked. They carefully measure the depth - put in the gravel base as specified. If we had another construction job, we would definitely call JBS

Wayne had been to the house about a month earlier during construction to provide an estimate. He had asked that I call them after the house was completed. Brian came to the house the day after I moved in to get the details of what I was looking for. He guided me through the process of picking out a stamp pattern and colors for the sidewalk and patio. He had an album containing pictures of jobs they had completed. He then said they could get the forms in the following day. They came mid-morning the following day after completing another job and said that if the weather remained good that they hoped to lay the sidewalk and patio. By 3:00 they were done with the patio and sidewalk and had ordered the concrete for the driveway. There were 8 guys working until 6:00 - all of the concrete work was completed in 1 day! The next day 2 guys came back, washed the sidewalk and patio and applied sealer. The sidewalk and patio looked better than I could have hoped for. They rounded the patio, curved the sidewalk and flaired out the bottom of the driveway. My expectations have been exceeded.

I selected JBS in large part due to all the positive reviews on this site. Overall, it was a good experience and the work quality appears to be very good. They were not the lowest quote, but I felt comfortable that they would deliver a good product and their price was near the other quotes. We have only had the concrete in for about two weeks at this point, so I can't speak to how well it holds up over time. Brian was easy to work with and was always prompt and professional. The one issue we ran into was a miscommunication on what was being done at the end of the driveway. I thought I was clear that I wanted concrete all the way to the road, but apparently the quote did not cover that area. This ended up adding an additional $1,000. The other quotes I had received had sketches that clearly outlined what was to be done, while JBS' quote worked from the measurements. It was too late to do much of anything about it, but I would recommend verifying the dimensions and measuring yourself to avoid this same problem. This likely could have changed my decision had I done this upfront.
