Description of Work: Steve called to respond to my email inquiry about repairing my treadmill. He provided clear and precise information in the initial call. I asked him to please evaluate the cost of repair of my treadmill in person. Steve was on time, courteous and polite. He answered all our questions in layman terms and gave us his advice.We agreed with him the cost of repair of our 2nd hand treadmill was not in our best interest. He went out of his way to give us a follow up call later in the day, providing model numbers of replacement equipment and where it could be purchased in our area.

Description of Work: Contacted Steve who is very knowledgeable on home exercise equipment. Quoted me trip charge and possible parts needed. Came out and diagnosed problem, adjusted treadmill, calibrated electronics, lubed deck and tested treadmill. 8 year old treadmill works like new. Charged what was quoted over the phone.

+ -1 moreSteve returned my call promptly and we discussed the problems with the treadmill. He requested model number and we set an appointment. Steve was right on time for the appointment and determined the bad news within 10 minutes: worn out motor, electronics and very worn belt... solution: time for a new treadmill. He recommended the type of treadmill I would need and pointed out a couple models I might consider. Steve was very professional at all times and made me feel confident that I was getting an educated opinion. I have already recommended him to someone else.
Description of Work: 8 year old treadmill didn't work. Belt would turn until you stepped on it. Steve of The Right Gear was highly recommended in Angie's List, and I had a bad experience about two years prior with Sears repair, so decided to give Steve a try.

+ -1 moreSteve Cudnoski, the owner of the Right Gear, arrived at my home right on time! He was able to diagnose the problem shortly after he arrived and made the repair and also tuned it up including lubricating the tread. He was extremely thorough and also provided me with additional information on how to maintain and operate the treadmill. The cost was exactly what he had quoted me over the phone. I would definitely call them again for any fitness equipment repairs!
Description of Work: I had purchased a treadmill online a few years ago from Smooth Fitness and it was making a loud squealing noise so I needed to have it repaired. Smooth Fitness told me the closest approved provider for maintenance was in Chicago and I wanted to find someone in the Milwaukee area to handle the repairs. I found The Right Gear through Angie's List. From the moment I called they were very professional and helpful and told me upfront some of the things that could possibly be wrong and also gave me the price for a service call. Steve gave me some options for a date to come to my home for the service call and I was able to schedule the appointment in less then a week and for a time that was convenient for me.

+ -1 moreWe purchased an electric treadmill from a department store about 1 1/2 years ago. When it broke down, I called the store where we purchased it. Their repairman couldn't fix it, because the schematics weren't in their system. They wanted us to call the manufacturer to find out what was wrong, order a part, and call them back to replace it! (The fee to talk to to manufacturer was $130, plus the cost of the part, PLUS the cost of replacing the part!!) By the time I called the Right Gear, I was pretty aggravated. Steve was wonderful. He asked me what the trouble was with the treadmill, and told me it was one of two parts, and gave me two prices for repairs, based on which part needed replacing. He had to order one of the parts, and called me when it came in to set up the appointment. He was right on time, fixed the treadmill quickly, gave me information to keep it running properly, and the cost came in right where he said it would. Thank you, Steve!

+ -1 moreSteve called me back and advised me to buy a new treadmill rather than repairing the old one since the part was discontinued and he said it would become expensive to maintain. He took the time to recommend several treadmills and told me how to find them on the Sears website. I was really impressed that he took the time to talk with me even though he wasn't charging me for his time. I bought a treadmill that Steve recommended and will call Right Gear for any servicing.

+ -1 moreSTEVE WAS VERY HELPFUL BEFORE I ORDERED THE BIKE. WE ORDERED THE BIKE OVER THE INTERNET. WHEN IT ARRIVED, I CALLED STEVE IMMEDIATELY. HE SENT SOMEONE OUT THE NEXT DAY AND HE ARRIVE ON TIME. IT TOOK HIM ABOUT 1 HOUR TO PUT THE BIKE TOGETHER AND TEST IT. HE EXPLAINED HOW THE BIKE OPERATED. I THOUGHT THE PRICE WAS VERY REASONABLE. I HAD CHECKED A FEW OTHER PLACES. STEVE SAVED ME ABOUT $200 IN ALL BECAUSE OF ORDERING OVER THE INTERNET AND THEN HAVING THE RIGHT GEAR PUT THE BIKE TOGETHER. HE CHECKED OUT MY TREADMILL AND I WAS HAPPY IT WAS OKAY. HE ALSO LEFT A BROCHURE IN CASE I'D LIKE TO REPLACE IT SOMEDAY. IT IS AN OLDER MODEL AND REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE HARD TO FIND.

+ -1 moreSTEVE WAS ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM ON THE PHONE. HE GAVE US PLENTY OF TIME TO DECIDE WHETHER WE WANTED TO MAKE THE REPAIR. HE CAME ON TIME, FIXED THE PROBLEM QUICKLY, AND MADE A BIG IMPRESSION ON MY HUSBAND (WHO IS NOT USUALLY EASY TO IMPRESS) BECAUSE HE REALLY KNEW WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT. WE ARE HAVING STEVE FIX OUR BIKES TOO.
