State of the Art Import Auto Repair does a great job and the owner is very honest. He wont repair anything that doesn't need to be fixed. I have been very pleased with their services and I have heard many other people say the same thing. He used to be part of another company and when he started his own company I decided to move with him because I liked him so much. My girlfriend had a Sunfire that needed attention and he replaced the heater coil in the car. Six months later the heater coil went out and he replaced it for free. Almost a thousand miles later it went out again and he repaired it for free again. He recommended that we get a new car. He then noticed on that car that the dipstick was not the right size and it was causing the gauge to show that the oil tank was full when really it needed more oil. He was able to order the part for us and it was very convenient. He does specialize on imports and he does work on american cars as well.

Staff were friendly and professional. App't was easy to make, and car was done on time. The only glitch was that the ABS sensor loosened during axle repair, so I had to go back a few days later to get that screwed back on. When I called back to say the sensor was going off, Randy was immediately apologetic and identified the likely problem (he was right). I appreciated that he didn't try to blame the car and took responsibility for it. When I went back in they took only a few minutes to fix the problem and also gave me a free oil change card, which really wasn't necessary as the sensors on this car always seem to be coming loose or failing. Frankly, I was grateful they didn't try to stick me with replacing an otherwise working sensor, as I suspect happened last year w/ a few other sensors when I took the car into a dealership repair shop and ended up spending thousands to replace several "failed" sensors. The cost of this inspection and oil change was also about half what I've been paying at the dealer repair shop. Can't beat that.

I was most impressed by their customer service. The staff told me what to expect, recommended some minor maintenance work and was very honest in what I could expect long term. I was also very surprised that when I asked for the number for a cab company to get home after the tow the staff person asked how far away I lived and then offered to drive me personally. I will continue to use them for all of my repair needs.

They deserve their reputation for doing great work at a fair and honest price! Randy found the problem quickly(corroded heat shield falling off)and fixed it quickly(removed the heat shield)all for under $40. AND they gave my car a once-over check to make sure all was in order AND they found no other issues. This is unlike some places(Toyota dealership)where everything costs twice as much and they always "find" more problems than you come in with. You can really trust this shop. Plus, Randy(owner)and Sarah(front office)are wonderfully friendly, as well.

They did an excellent job and the price was very very reasonable. They found one problem and found a couple of other things that needed repaired and they made sure they called me to let me know what needed done.

Our truck was towed into State of the Art after closing. Randy called the next day with the diagnosis and estimate which seemed reasonable. I also asked him to check the other ball joint and the front brakes. He later reported that the other ball joint was fine but that the front brakes needed replacement. Picked up the truck 2 days later and it has been running fine. It was nice to use the coupon & get the Angie's List discount. (There is also a discount for Triple A members). I also scheduled a follow-up appointment to replace the front brakes. I was treated very well and now plan to be a regular customer of State of the Art.

You know what? Randy (business owner) just uses good, honest and sound business practices. Treat people right, be reasonably reliable, don't rip them off, do a good job and be honest. What a novel concept. Its funny, true and sad all at the same time that so many can't do these basic things. For this same exact repair, a BMW dealership had wanted to charge me $1,025 (over double!). State Of The Art: $475.96. I know that the BMW dealership has more overhead, but over double? The parts price to me was about $125.00 from Randy. So, the other company's labor charges $900 or $180/hr for labor? The bottom line here is this. You won't be sorry using State Of The Art Import Auto. I've used them before and I'll use them again. Honest, fair, a good job and professional. Talking with Randy is a breeze. No arrogance here. He is so easy to understand, so accessible and he'll explain and show things that are involved with a repair. Use them in confidence and NO reservations. I'm a believer in them.

I took my 2003 Honda Pilot into the dealer (with whom I also have had good experiences) for routine 75K maintenance. They told me that I needed new brake pads for about $250.00 per axle (with machined rotors). I found State of the Art on Angie's List and took it there for another bid. As I have had previous problems with rotors warping after machining, I was extremely happy when Randy quoted me the brake job with new rotors for only about $100.00 more (this would have been about $800.00 at the dealer). I made an appointment about 3 working days in advance. They did the work promptly.

Great! Look for State-of-the-Art coupons in your mail. They're good for oil changes, tire rotations, etc. and discounts off repairs. The $40 figure is for a complete inspection, including tax, etc.

Easy drop off service, excellent attitude on part of staff there. I thought I needed a brake job until I took the car in and the explained that the noise I was hearing did not call for a brake job.

Randy is very honest and tells it straight. He could have made more money not mentioning some things, but told us what we needed to know instead. How wonderful to find an honest mechanic that really knows his stuff!!

I called State of the Art after finding them on Angie's List to make an appointment for the Ford. As it happens, my husband and I were also about to buy a used BMW. Randy advised me to have him look at it before making the purchase. I brought the BMW in on a Thursday and he did a thorough exam and gave me a full report for about $55. The Ford went in on Friday, he had it running beautifully by the time he was done with it. I have gone back to him two more times since then, once to fix the passenger side window on the BMW (a problem he pointed out to me when he examined it) which came in slightly under his original estimate, and once to examine a possible electrical problem with the locks. In all instances, Randy has been generous with his time and willing to go the extra mile. He is extremely enjoyable to work with. We have found a keeper!

I was very pleased with the service and friendly, but professional staff. They were very accommodating with my schedule, since I am caring for a newborn. Also, the cost was less than the estimate received from my dealership, and I didn't have to deal with any pressure for an "excellent" rating. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for auto service.

Very quick friendly service. Knew enough about Mazdas to suggest a OEM fan belt might be required. Rebalanced tire after valve replacement.

I was able to have Randy survey the problem the same day I called. Even though the noise was intermittent, he pinpointed the problem. After the weekend, the heat shield attachment was repaired in less than 1/2 hour at a very reasonable charge.

They were friendly and enthusiastic, gave us a few options with a few different prices for how to handle our dying transmission. They completed the work when they said they would. The total cost came in about 10% higher than the estimate.

We had a serious problem with our 4 wheel drive, where the car felt like it was dragging in reverse. Randy said that he could try to flush the transmission, and if it wasn't corrected in 3 weeks, the part would need to be replaced-$1,000. I was actually a little rude with him wondering if we were just wasting money with the flush, but we tried it. Sure enough after 2.5 weeks, the problem totally disappeared! I called his wife to thank her and let her know that it worked! They were very reasonable and honest service people.

Randy strikes me as a fair and honest mechanic. He tells it like it is, and we have always had excellent service delivered in a prompt manner. He sends around coupons in the Value Packs for BOGO free oil changes, and that is fantastic! We have taken all of our autos there, and he has been able to keep us on the road.
