They actually showed up a bit early because they had finished their previous job early. The whole crew was professional and did a great job of keeping the ash and dust contained. There was no smell or dust from the cleaning process in the air. Very happy, will use again

It is chimney cleaning so hard to see inside, but it appears as though they did a good job. Also went onto my roof to check as well. Were basically on time and in and out quickly. I'd use them again.

He was very good. We bought a house when the chimneys checked and the chimneys were fine but since he was here he then cleaned up some of the gas fixture. He was efficient and did a good job. He didn't gorge me.

We have been in the market for a fireplace insert for over a year. In that time we did our own research and also contacted all of the larger local fireplace stores and two smaller companies--one of them Classic Chimneys. We got estimates from all of them. Jake's estimate was very competitive but that was not the reason alone why we went with him. He gave us the most thorough explanation of what we would need in our particular situation, and, almost as important, what we don't need. We had a whole list of questions (do we need to insulate the flue liner, do we we need an outside air intake, what is the best insert for our situation, etc.), which Jake answered very patiently and with great knowledge. It was my impression that he could have made more money by suggesting specific upgrades, but he often shook his head and said that we don't need that. To make the insert look nicer, we also wanted to raise it a bit from the floor. That process involved laying some bricks--for which Jake said he would not charge extra. Most companies did. On the day of the install, Jake and his associate were on time and had everything ready. They made sure our floors were protected before they began working. The installation itself went smoothly and cleanly with no hiccups and we had a working insert at the end of the day. Jake had to come back for some adjustments and repairs (of the insert itself, nothing related to Jake's work) and he did in a timely manner. The insert itself works wonderfully and looks stunning. It is a great improvement over our old fireplace. Jake is very nice to work with and talk to. He has an eye for detail and is able to respond to any concern we had (some people say I am very picky...). That left the impression that for him craftsmanship comes first. Since he doesn't have an office with an assistant (so it appears) it sometimes takes a bit until he responds to a call or email. But he always does and the time it took him was very bearable. Overall, we are very happy with Jake's and Tom's work and highly recommend Classic Chimneys.

I think overall, it went quite well. They did excellent work. We just had a problem with scheduling, they forgot, and they were late the second time. They did offer us the free chimney cleaning which we were thankful for, but that was the only problem. The work itself was excellent. They did good work. The chimney was cleaned and it works fine now. That's what we wanted and that's what we got. I would say the other thing was that when they did make a mistake, they didn't get defensive or had to make it our fault. They owned their responsibility.

They arrived on time and did a thorough cleaning and inspection of the chimney flue. I was impressed with their professionalism and anticipate that I will have them return.

It was great. They were very nice, very polite and they cleaned up very well after them, so there was no mess whatsoever. I think they did a great job and I would certainly get their service again.

We did have a chimney clean out from a service provider on Angie's List that was excellent. This was a different type of a fire place that we ever had and we didn't understand how to use it. They showed up on time. They protected the floor and put those shoes on. There were 2 helpers with him. They were very professional. They answered all of our questions, gave us more information than what we asked for which we appreciated. We will hire them back again. I would give them 'A's all the way through.

He figured out the reason we kept getting smoke in our house when we had a fire was that we had 2 flues, one of which had become disconnected from the handle and so was permanently closed. He fixed that for us, cleaned everything up, and we have a fully functional chimney now that we've really been enjoying this winter. Very positive experience.

After purchasing the Deal, Classic Chimney's contacted me via an Angie's List message the very same day confirming my address and offering some possible appointment times. I chose one and everything was confirmed. On the day of my appointment, I waited at home but nobody showed up. An hour after my scheduled time, I called Jake and got his voicemail. He called me back a few minutes later. He was surprised when I asked why he never showed up, because apparently he did. He started explaining the house he was at and it turns out, he went to the wrong address. My house number is 6954 and he went to 6854. I don't know why, but it actually happens quite frequently that people confuse my house and the other house. When we realized what had happened, Jake was extremely apologetic and clearly felt bad for what had happened. He said he had waited outside 'my' house for almost an hour before leaving and that he was currently on to the next job so could not come back. We set up another appointment and he made sure it was at a time that would easily fit in my schedule. At this second appointment, Jake was very punctual and again apologized for the mix up with the first appointment. He quickly got to work and was finished in no time. When he was done, everything was completely cleaned up and there was no dust/soot anywhere. In order to make up for going to the wrong address for the first appointment, I was reimbursed about half of the cost of the deal and given a gift certificate for a free cleaning at another time. Despite the mix-up with the addresses, I would definitely recommend Classic Chimneys! Very friendly and it's great that there's no soot left over once they're done!

Easy to work with vis a vis scheduling, and they were prompt and professional. When we bought the house, the building inspector told us that some of the firebrick mortar needed repair and that without it there would be some safety risk to using the fireplace. We have two fireplaces (basement and first floor) that share the chimney, and had avoided using either one. We were prepared to have to spend money on repairs in order to have a usable fireplace, and were pleased to learn that Classic's assessment determined that it is only the firebrick in the basement that needs repair and that we could go ahead and safely use the first floor fireplace. That's been fine with us, since the 1st floor is the only one we really care to use anyway. I appreciated that they verified safety in writing as a matter of course.

The technician, Jake, was running late due to a longer than expected appointment before ours. We were able to reschedule for later in the day and are very happy with the service we received. Jake was professional, courteous, and efficient. He didn't make a mess at all and will be coming back to add a screen to our chimney on Monday.
