 + -1 moreI had a piece of siding fall from near the top of my chimney and I needed someone to stick it back on for me. I had another person come out and quote me $1200 to replace the chase cover which he thought (assumed) was rusted through because he saw a small amount of of rust on top of the fireplace insert, I decided to get another quote. The guys from classic chimneys went on the roof to see what was wrong and saw a rust free chase cover with some missing caulk, 30 minutes later they had re-attached the siding and fixed the caulk.
Description of Work: They reattached a piece of siding and caulked the chase cover.

 + 0 moreClassic Chimneys service was excellent. They came out to do work early fall last year. September, October. The prices were excellent. They took care of everything and they were excellent.
Description of Work: Classic Chimneys did a chimney sweep, we had a leaky cap they came out and fixed it. There was mold on the inside. We had to take off the siding and replace all of that as well. They worked the entire afternoon.

Description of Work: Chimney and fireplace was inspected. No cleaning was required. Identified long term rust damage in fireplace (door and grate) caused by leaky chimney cap (replaced by previous owner). Recommended replacing fireplace grate and door before using the fireplace again.

 + -1 moreIt was ok. We heard what we thought so I we knew NOT to use the chimney. However, I would have appreciated the details written about the problems which he said he would do.
Description of Work: We had never used the Chimney in our house since purchasing this older home (we had some safety concerns) so we wanted to take advantage of this deal. Classic Chimneys did indeed find some major safety issues and recommended we not use it. He did however, clean out ashes from previous use (we do have questions as to how/why the previous owner used it if the said that it was a fire hazard). He committed to sending an estimate for repair and a detailed follow up, which he did not.

 + 0 moreThese guys are great. We initially got a deal for a chimney cleaning through Angie's List. While doing the inspection/cleaning, they saw a minor issue, and fixed it for a great price. We have now used them again (the next year), and since our chimney was relatively clean (apparently we just use extremely clean burning wood?), they actually gave us a discount. The guys do a great job cleaning up, they are speedy, and generally great.

 + 1 moreThe service was great. Classic Chimney offers Saturday morning appointments, a nice bonus so that we didn't have to take time off work. They sent a team of two to handle the work quickly. The team showed us important features of the gas fireplace (including a safety feature we were unaware of) and provided pictures of the current state of our chimney cap, which was not looking good. We were provided a quote to replace it, which we plan to follow up on later this spring.
Description of Work: We had our chimney cleaned and inspected, and the gas fireplace inspected.

 + 2 moreAs I live in a condo, the association management company, thought they would save money by having a person from the company come and nail the flu to the wood infrastructure. Jake came out and found that the nailing were not aligned to the flues. (Many other condo's were also, in the same situation as mine). I have not been able to use my fireplace due to the incompetence of the association. Jake has been very professional in his interactions with the management company. Time will tell if the association takes responsibility for the flaws in the building of condominiums in this complex.
Description of Work: Jake was absolutely fantastic! His professional skills far exceeded my expectations. He took pictures of a defective chimney.and told me not to use the fireplace until it was repaired. Jake took pictures of a misaligned chimneys, that lacked of any attachments to the flue.. My condo faces east, south and west. High winds have moved the top of the non secured chimney. If I had a fire in the fireplace, , most likely that would have caused a fire in my home. Jake is by far the most professional person whom I have had the pleasure of working with.

 + -1 moreAfter I called and left a message for Jake, he returned my call promptly. Despite his busy schedule, he was able to sweep our chimney within a couple of days. He did a great job with the chimney, cleaned up well, and then went up on the roof to inspect the chimney bricks and top, which will need some work within the next several months. I had suspected that after seeing the cracks that were developing this past year. I will definitely ask him to do the chimney work and in a couple of years, sweep the chimney again. Overall, Jake is personable and an efficient worker. I highly recommend Classic Chimneys.

Classic Chimneys just asked that I add a small fee for an out of area service. I thought that was perfectly fair. The person showed up on time and did an awesome job of cleaning the chimney and making sure there was no sign he had even been there. No dust or soot to clean up after. I will definately use them again!

 + -1 moreClassic Chimneys came in at about $3,500 for my chimney repair that included a Vogelzang fireplace insert, stainless steel chimney liner, and new cap. This is almost $2,000 less than an estimate that I got for just a stainless steel liner/cap repair. The wrong liner was initially ordered, and we had to reschedule services - it was only a minor inconvenience. From there, they showed up on time, left the house as clean as it was when the project began, and did excellent work. The fireplace functions wonderfully. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a no BS quote and a job well done.

Description of Work: Jake was very knowledgeable about what needed to be done to repair my chimney and the foundation of my garage. He also installed a fireplace door for me that looks great and works very well. I needed extra areas of the foundation done as the work progressed and he was able to see that and do all of the extra work. He also went out of his way and took the time to match the brick so that the chimney repair would blend in well. I had obtained several estimates and Jakes was the most reasonable price for the amount of work done. He was easy to work with and went above and beyond to meet my needs and keep within the estimate he had given me. I would hire him again and highly recommend him to my friends and family.
