The worst experience dealing with a contractor in my life. I will never use Earls Seamless gutters again and let others know not to as well.
Description of Work: I helped my Mother find a gutter service from the yellow pages to install heat tapes and downspout on her gutters for winter. We found and met Earl's Seamless Gutters in May. He gave us a quote and we agreed to have him install the downspout and cables. Then we found out he needed the $475 in advance because he had to order some special cables that would last a long time. Then when the cables came they were the wrong ones so he had to reorder the right ones. Two months later I called and he said they were in and he would be out to my Mothers house to install them but he did come as planned. He did not return my calls for two months. Finally after numerous messages he called me back to say he was out of state on some job but never let me know. He said he would be out the next week but failed to show up as planned. My Mother was getting very disturbed by this lack of professionalism, lack of follow through and a job still not done after paid for. In September, I think it was, his excuse for coming out was it was too hot to be on the roof and he would do it when it was cooler. In November his excuse was that he hurt his ankle and it would be a couple weeks. In December it snowed and we were very concerned this would not get done for the very reason we had intended to install gutter cables. After answerting the phone the following week Earl said he would be out on Thursday or Friday the 13th or 14th. He did not show returned my message on Monday 12/17/12 apologizing after I said we wanted a refund and would find someone reliable to finish the job since it was already winter. On 12/19/12 Earl finally showed up at my Mothers house and finished the job. 7 months after it was paid for, many many calls and messages, several broken promises to show up, much frustration and disappointment.

We choose Earl's, he gave us a quote and we approved but had to prepay so he could order some special cable. They were ordered but shipped wrong so reordered. Two months later I called when they were in to install he said he would be out but didnt show up. I called a couple weeks later and he was on a job in Texas. My Mother was disturbed with this lack of professionalism and follow thru. In September his excuse was it was too hot to go on the roof to completer the job. In November his excuse was he hurt his ankle. In December it snowed and I called and said to refund the payment so we could find someone to get the job done. He said he sould be out 12/13 or 12/14 but didnt show up. On 12/19 he finally completed - 7 months after paying for the job.
