He spent a lot of time with us before the job to make sure we understood what he planned on doing.

It was a pleasure to work with an independent contractor & support a small business in our community. I had confidence in their expertise and could not be happier with the product. Thank you again Angie's List, for helping me find a quality, fair priced contractor. He was very experienced, competent and professional. All of the above made me feel good about my decision to have them do the job. Tom guessed my steps were separate from the porch and he was right. If there were a different construction, the job would have cost more. Keep up the good work! Call them with confidence and know you will be treated well and the will be done as promised.

We called to ask for an estimate for driveway repair work leaving the message on voice mail. Got a prompt call back saying he would drive by and give us an estimate, but we did not hear back. Called a second time and was told by person answering the phone that she would remind him. Several weeks later we still have heard nothing.

We decided to go with Tom to have our whole driveway replaced but, that project needed to be put on hold until next spring or summer. Even so, to accommodate tree removal and replacement, Tom removed some sections of our driveway and back walk. Also, a section of iron fencing was in the way of the tree removal and they removed that for us (which doesn't really fall under the concrete removal heading it falls under the trying to just help you out anyway). Tom is so complete in his descriptions of what exactly will need to be done and the work gets done exactly the way he describes. Tom and his son were very personable and professional (as was the third guy working with them).

I WOULD SAY THAT THIS WAS A VERY PLEASANT EXPERIENCE. WE ARE WELL SATISFIED WITH THE OUTCOME.

They provided unbelievable customer service! Mr. Schmidt installed my driveway two years ago. His crew was punctual, hardworking and friendly. Eighteen months later, the driveway had pop-outs because of faulty concrete provided to Mr. Schmidt and his crew. He returned this past fall and replaced my ENTIRE driveway at NO CHARGE. His company stands by his work and is a true pleasure to deal with. A++++++.

TOM AND I PLAYED PHONE TAG FOR ABOUT A WEEK AND A HALF. WHEN WE CONNECTED HE AGREED TO COME OUT OVER THE WEEKEND TO LOOK AT THE JOB. I NEVER HEARD FROM HIM AGAIN AND ASSUMED HE NEVER LOOKED AT THE JOB.

TOM AND HIS CREW WERE GREAT. THEY DID HIGH QUALITY WORK IN A TIMELY MANNER AT A FAIR PRICE. THEY WERE HONEST, CONSIDERATE AND ALWAYS CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES. THEY WERE VERY GOOD ABOUT GIVING DESIGN ADVICE WITHOUT BEING PUSHY. THEY WERE A TRUE PLEASURE TO WORK WITH.

TOM SCHMIDT WASN'T THE LOWEST BIDDER FOR THIS JOB, BUT WHEN HE CAME TO ESTIMATE, HE EXPLAINED IN DETAIL WHAT HE'D DO. HE AND HIS CREW OF FOUR YOUNG MEN WERE NEAT, PROFESSIONAL AND PLEASANT. THE JOB WAS MORE COMPLICATED THAN EITHER OF US COULD HAVE PREDICTED, BUT TOM WAS CAREFUL TO CONSULT WITH US EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. THE NEW DRIVEWAY IS PERFECT.

I WAS PRETTY DISAPPOINTED THAT HE COULDN'T EVEN GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE. I HAVE HAD OTHER ESTIMATES FOR THIS JOB WITH NO PROBLEM FINDING A PARKING SPACE DURING THE DAY HOURS. I DON'T FEEL THAT THIS COMPANY SHOULD ADVERTISE THEIR SERVICE AREA AS ''MILWAUKEE COUNTY'' WHEN THEY CLEARLY DON'T WANT TO DO THE TOUGHER JOBS ON THE EAST SIDE OF MILWAUKEE, WHERE MANY DRIVEWAYS/GARAGE/ALLEYS ARE THIS CLOSE TOGETHER.

THOMAS RETURNED ALL MY PHONE CALLS AND GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE EXTREMELY QUICKLY. THE PROPOSAL WAS VERY THOROUGH, WHICH IS PART OF THE REASON I CHOSE HIS COMPANY. THE WORK WAS DONE AS PROMISED, AND THE WORKERS WERE POLITE, QUIET AND RESPECTFUL. ALL TRASH WAS REMOVED AND EVERYTHING WAS PUT BACK THE WAY IT WAS FOUND. A SMALL STONE WALL, WHICH HAD TO BE REMOVED WHILE THE WORK WAS DONE, WAS REASSEMBLED BY THE WORKERS. IT ACTUALLY LOOKED BETTER AFTERWARDS THAN IT HAD BEFORE THEY TOOK IT DOWN.

REQUESTED ESTIMATE ON OR ABOUT JUNE 9, 2005 FOR REPAIRING AND/OR REPLACING OF FRONT PORCH AND STEPS. RECEIVED A CALL BACK WITHIN A DAY. MR. SCHMIDT SAID HE WOULD COME OUT TO LOOK AT THE PORCH THEN PROVIDE AN ESTIMATE. TO DATE (JULY 12, 2005) HE HAS NOT COME OUT, THEREFORE, NO ESTIMATE HAS BEEN PROVIDED, AND THAT IS THE REASON I'VE GIVEN HIM A C FOR RESPONSIVENESS, SINCE HE WAS GOOD AT RETURNING THE INITIAL PHONE CALL, BUT BAD IN FOLLOWING UP WITH A VISIT AND ESTIMATE.

THE WORKERS WITH HIM, WHICH I THINK ARE HIS CHILDREN ARE VERY MANNERABLE AND I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM. THEY DID A VERY GOOD JOB.

TOM AND HIS CREW WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL, POLITE AND FRIENDLY. I FOUND A SMALL FLAW, CALLED TOM AND HE WAS OUT THE NEXT DAY TO CORRECT IT. I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE JOB. TOM SEEMS TO TREAT CONCRETE LIKE REMBRANDT TREATS A CANVAS.

CONTRACTOR KEPT IN CONTACT WITH ME REGARDING HIS SCHEDULE AND WEATHER CONFLICTS. THE JOB WAS DONE WITHIN A WEEK OF ESTIMATE AND WOULD HAVE BEEN DONE FASTER IF NOT FOR SOME VERY RAINY DAYS. THOROUGHLY EXPLAINED WORK DONE AND ISSUES OF CONCERN.

IT WAS NICE TO WORK WITH A GROUP THAT DEFINITELY TOOK PRIDE IN THEIR JOB. THE DRIVEWAY AND THE NEW STOOP LOOK GREAT.

The workers were very professional and knew what they were doing. They arrived early and stayed late if necessary. He promised to come back and repair holes in the driveway but has not come back out when we have been home. He always says they will stop by when they are in the neighborhood but never calls more that a short time beforehand.

PROVIDED A DETAILED WORK PLAN AND ESTIMATE. ENTIRE CREW WAS COURTEOUS AND VERY METICULOUS ABOUT THEIR WORK-HIGH CRAFTSMANSHIP.

THEY WERE POLITE AND DID EXCELLENT WORK.

TOM IS VERY PERSONABLE, AND TAKES TIME TO EXPLAIN HOW THE JOB WILL BE DONE. PRICE DID NOT CHANGE FROM ORIGINAL ESTIMATE. HIS CREW DID A GREAT JOB AND LEFT THE SITE CLEAN. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
