Smoothly, Jake came out with one of his team members and gave us an estimate, laid out the timeline for the project and his team consistently showed up for several days. Communicated any changes and completed a beautiful deck on time and on budget. I would highly recommend him to anyone in the future!

Excellent! Jake and his crew do amazing work. I've used them for a variety of decking projects and all turned out great! They are quick and efficient, great to work with, and competitively priced.

It went quite well. Jake and I both had complicated schedules to fit the work in with other projects that had to be done in a certain order. We were able to negotiate the time frame quite well. Jake listened to my needs and clearly articulated what and when he could and couldn't do things. His imagination and creativity about how to build my deck with budget and consistent with the rest of the house really set him apart. He wasn't the lowest bidder, nor the highest. But he really stood out when it came to saying what needed to be done to meet what I (often rather poorly) said I wanted and how to do it.

The Duffy & Bradburn crew were excellent! They showed up on time and did an excellent job building a beautiful deck off my back door that we enjoy so much! They even came back out and built a gate as an after thought. I can't recommend them enough!

It was a wonderful experience.  The work was of excellent quality (confirmed by other builders) and very rugged.  It added, in effect, outdoor rooms to our house that we enjoy daily, summer or winter.
The only problem (a minor one) was that the stain on the top railings decided to peel so we replaced those top railings with the composite material instead of wood and there was some delay to this fix (which was purely cosmetic and did not impact our use or enjoyment of the new decks).
We absolutely would use Travis Bradburn again for any construction needs.  He is a very pleasant, hard-working individual, who communicates well.

I've worked with countless contractors and service providers over the past 15 years as a consumer, and otherwise.
Very few do I want to work with again.   I'm picky, moderately knowlegeable, and have high expectations across the board.
I might be considered "high maintainence".  (Not unreasonable, or cheap mind you, just ... involved .)
Simply put, Jake Duffy is one of the best I've ever dealt with!
You get the price of some of the more economical bids of a group who wants to work ( I had 6+ bids some were insane)
But you get the service and attention of being a "Price is no object" customer.
I've experienced both.
The amount of questions and explanations and changes I put Jake through is almost embarrassing.  But for the life of me I cant remember him showing the least bit of frustration.
If you are considering Duffy & Bradburn for a job,.. My advice,..  meet Jake.  (didn't get to meet the parther)
Honest, Knowledgeable, Direct, and does what he says. (that last bit is big)
He (and therefore Duffy & Bradburn GC)
1. Helped me find an excavator to do some rather tricky work to prep for the deck expansion, and they were awesome.  They rushed to help me and charged me very conservatively. In no small part because the request came from Jake.
2. Helped me locate an architect/designer to work with to get professional designs and help with the permit process. (again, I truly believe they did better work, for less because it was for one of Jake's clients)
3. Helped me decide on size and materials for our deck (which he was exceptionally helpful with.. never trying to force anything, just educating me on pros and cons, and price differences.  each time with an updated estimate)
4. Had a team out to demo and remove old deck quickly,
5. As soon as I had locked in my desires, it was less than a week before the hammers started swinging.
6. Followed up with exceptionally minor fix (silly fix) the same day the building inspector noted it, so I was able to schedule the second and successful inspection a matter of days later.
7. Has continued to help refer me to good people for other services, all who love him and try hard to keep him as a good refference.  (That's big)
8. He may even help me himself on a tricky job I haven't been able to find anyone to do.  (that's pending)
In Short,   Jake is now "My Guy" to goto first .
I read the other reviews before hiring him, and saw that they both fit my acceptable exclusions (and any smart reader):
One was a mistake of missed communication that was acknowledged and appologized for.. (It happens.. to everyone) But they owned it and apologized it.. They didnt just blow it off.
The other is clearly either a crank, or more likely playing smear politics for another company, Why else would you write a scathing review ending with a Plug for another company?  That's bogus, I can almost guarantee it.  And using the phrase "Insurance Scam" is a liable act.  and even according to that guys story, billing for 5k, when insurance will only pay 2.5K sounds about like every insurance claim I've ever handled.  The days of Insurance "Overpaying" is long gone.  They lowball everything.  So the fact that there is money owed in addition to the insurance payout sounds normal unless the insurance company is the one who hires the service.    Again.  Rediculous.
Ask Jake for my number as a referral.  I have no problem referring him.
Until Lighting Strikes me,.  "Jake's My Guy".

Everything went very smoothly. The design process was easy -- we weren't 100 percent sure what we wanted, just that our existing deck was probably unsafe, and too much for our house. Jake came up with a design that we liked, and gave us a quote in a timely manner. He was easygoing and responsive during the bidding and building process. He also recommend an architect to help us with the permitting process, and he was reasonable and got the permit for us in record time (which is apparently quite a feat). The demo and building took place while we were on vacation, and Jake kept us abreast of the progress, and any issues (few). The decks were finished when we got home, and look just beautiful. We've had two landscape architects out to the house to bid on some work, and both have said, unprompted, what a beautiful job Jake and his crew did.
Jake's was only the second bid we got, and the first one was over $30,000, so I felt Jake's, which was $16,000 minus taxes, was darned reasonable. And, he didn't skimp on anything. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again.
On a side note, the person on here giving Jake an F sounds like a crank with an agenda. Read wisely ...

Trying to run an insurance scheme at Lake Wenatchee this past winter when a bunch of trees came down from the snowfall. They went door to door wanting work, a neighbor recommended them as they built his garage, so I unfortunately let them have the job. Travis Bradburn stood in my driveway and agreed that it was an insurance job and that he wasn't getting a dime from the homeowner, and he shook hands on that. They thought insurance just paid whatever they submitted, & tried to submit over $5k which any insurance group would laugh at for 4 trees, as they only pay by the linear foot of the trees. Insurance adjuster came up prior and took measurements and pictures, and figured 4 trees was worth about 2500. We also discussed taking down a leaner tree near the garage, which adjuster said we could fit in the bill, but they didn't want to do the extra work but tried to submit the bill like they did do extra work. They are learning the hard way that insurance jobs don't hand out blank checks. Now thinks he can submit the remainder of the frivolous claim to the homeowner !!  What a joke. No contract, craw-fishes his agreement, and thinks he can put an un-stamped bill in my mailbox, which is a federal offense, that just shows how stupid he really is. Now my goal is to bad mouth this joke of a company to every local I know & see.  If I can deter one homeowner from using this company, my goal is reached. If anyone needs trees removed from the Leavenworth / Lake Wenatchee area, please use Robert Ferral, or Tracy Grundland. Those 2 are the best around, and wont try to screw anyone.  Don't use these greedy companies that want to take advantage of locals.

My wife has stage four cancer and wanted to get the old deck replaced in the summer so we could use it with the family.
She joined Angie's List and got the names of three contractors who did decks in our area.  I scheduled an appointment with two of them (one wanted $75.00 to bid the job - I understand it would be refunded IF we went with them - but decided to get the non cost bids first).

The first one did not have an opening for a couple of weeks, Jake called me back within a day and set up a meeting.  He came out listened to what I wanted, made some measurements, suggestions and told me he would get back to me.  He did within a couple of days and brought samples of the decking options. My wife had multiple pictures of railing options which we discussed and later Jake brought samples of what he thought we wanted (which we really liked).  The installation crew was great (also included moving a couple of smaller trees).
My suggestion is ask questions and see what material options are available.  Jake apparently does a lot of decks so he has seen a lot of decks and knows what works well.
I am having Jake and company do a repair on the side of the house (now that the deck is in we can see the water damage to the window sills.  Again, listen to the contractor - he make an improvement suggestion that will definitely improve the long term performance of the repair (on using a molding with a slope and drip line to move water away from window (the original construction design is not great - but I anticipate the improvements will make it much longer than a simple replacement would).

We could not have had a better contractor!   When Jake put in his bid, he offered several helpful suggestions in the overall design which helped reduce the cost and increased the functionality (Originally we asked for a set of stairs off the extended deck, but they would have landed on a strongly sloped area and have been very long.  Jakes suggestion gave us two sets of stairs off each end of the deck near the house. The two sets of stairs, because of the location, were cheaper and more functional than what we had originally envisioned.  Jake also suggested using anodized black aluminum railing, which was totally maintenance free and obscured our wetlands view much less than than the old cedar railing.)    When completed, the deck was beautiful, and the inspector, after examining the deck, found the deck to be soundly designed and constructed and signed off the inspection with no qualifications.  We would definitely recommend Duffy and Bradburn to anyone.

The work on our deck went very well. Starting with the first contact Jake was very prompt with return phone calls and keeping  his appointments. He kept us very informed as to the time frame of the project.  Every question was answered. The day of the project went very well. Jake's crew are all very friendly and worked well together. Cleanup was fantastic. I hardily recommend them.

I highly recommend Duffy & Bradburn Contracting.  I received several bids for a new 2nd story deck project, and while Jake Duffy wasn't the least expensive, he was one of the lower bids.  I decided to go with Jake because I felt that he was the most competent, and did the best job explaining the project from start to finish with a high level of detail.  The scope of the work was to install a brand new front porch, a new 2nd story deck, install a new header and cut in a new sliding door on the 2nd floor, and repair and complete the drywall and trim inside.   The project was permitted, and took around 2 weeks.   During construction Jake and his crew was receptive to changes and was courteous and professional the entire time.   Since I was at work during the day, Jake and I stayed in regular contact by phone and I was never negatively surprised by any of the day's progress when I got home.  I was impressed with the level of craftsmanship on everything they built.  They removed all the construction debris after the project.  My wife and I are thrilled with the results.  I won't hesitate to have Jake and his crew bid again for other projects.

They worked in cold and wet weather!  They were ready to change in the middle of the project, as we had changed our minds about what we wanted!  They did everything we asked of them and explained what the changes would mean both with the house project look and the finanical part!  Always ready to please our needs!  I have great respect for this Company and would refer them to anyone!   I love our deck, which is now called "The Nana Cave"!

Jake was a little scared of me at first because I had a contract that I wanted him to sign and I don't think that's normal for most casual homeowner jobs that he has. After I talked with him on the phone he was comfortable with everything and we proceeded forward. Jake was my first choice given his other good reviews on Angie's List and his price was good...the same price as at least one other bid but they weren't listed on Angie's List. Jake followed the plans perfectly and did a great job selecting the wood for my project. I was very happy both with his communication and the quality of his work. They finished the job in exactly the time he said he would and even came back after they were finished to make a few minor adjustments after I lived with the Trellis for a weekend. Jake doesn't normally stain/paint as part of his work but was accomadating for me here and charged me fair hourly rate for that work, plus they did a good job with it. I'm a picky customer, for me one of the critical aspects of working with a contractor is that they don't make assumptions about what I might want...instead they should call me when there is a decision that needs to get made that is not in the spec. Jake was good about doing this, on at least 3 occasions he called me to get input on what they were doing and have me tell him how I wanted it done which was awesome. You're not going to go wrong with Jake.

The work and the finished product went beautifully. I couldn't be happier. They were very good with suggestions and incorporating my preferences. They were always courteous when responding to my many questions. They kept me completely informed of the next steps. The finished product is very strong and attractive. Jake earned every penny. I would highly recommend him and will only call Jake for any further projects.

I got four bids on the work and Jake's was both the cheapest and most comprehensive. For example, Jake was the only one to offer removing the tree stump that would have otherwise blocked access on/off the lower deck. During the biding process, I found Jake very easy to work with and very responsive -- some of the other deck contractors wouldn't come out for a second visit and were slow to respond to questions about alterations to the bids. Jake even made some mock ups of the railings as we were having trouble visualizing how they were going to look. Jake and his crew started work on the deck soon after we agreed to use them. He did his best to keep costs to a minimum by re-using the vertical pickets from the upper deck to make the top and bottom rails on the new lower deck. Jake was good about keeping us informed of what was going on. We were away on vacation for a few days while Jake was working on the deck and he sent us pictures each day to show us how the work was progressing. The work was completed on time and to a good standard. We have used a few contractors lately and I feel that Jake and his crew have been the best we've used so far and I'd have no reservations about recommending him to someone else.

Entire crew was professional and respectful. They always arrived on-time and ready to work. Work site was always clean and picked up. All details of the construction were top notch, I could find no faults with their work. Communication was very good, I was kept informed during all stages of the job. There were no surprises and I was billed exactly what we agreed upon. No cost or time overruns.

A very rainy June made it difficult to carry out the construction and staining of the deck, but Jake and his crew were very accomodating in working around the weather. They called to notify us when they would be coming--and when they wouldn't because of the rain. We are very satisfied with the quality of the materials they used and their construction.

Outstanding. Not only was the project on time, and on budget, but the details were amazing. Right down to tiny details relating to the drywall after the new door was installed, and the 45 degree cuts to the railing post all the way around the deck. His team did the entire job in 4 days, and when the left, the clean up job was most impressive. They were very careful not about about their work, but also taking care of my house. I would DEFINITELY recommend Jake and his crew, and I'll be using them again.
