It went from Bad to worse. 1- quote was $240 for Magic Carpet and $800 for driver, then it was changed cause the driver wanted $200 more. 2- driver said he would show up one day and came 3days later. Very frustrating. 3- driver calls when he reaches Portland and gets my voicemail and says if I don't call him back within half and hour, the car will be put in storage at my expense. Nice way to approach someone. 4- car shows up with a smashed headlight, he says to call the office. 5- I call Magic Carpet, whom I hired, and it takes 6 calls, and lots of go around and nothing. The part is $160 without going to a dealer, and I have received nothing. Finally after a call back, I get the insurance info, that is for the delivery service, not Magic and they say I have to deal with it all, they are just the middle man. 6- I would never use this service, and it is false advertising when they say they are insured and will take care of everything, they have taken care of NOTHING!!!!!!!!! 7- do yourself a favor, find someone else and ask lots of questions about what happens if there is damage.

We had a very tight time frame as my husband needed his car in Seattle for his last day of work, and needed it in Houston 9 days later for his first day at his new job. It takes about 6 to 7 days to drive to Houston, so there wasn't much wiggle room in the schedule. Trevon kept in contact with me, and also with friends in Seattle who made sure the car got loaded as we had already left for Houston (us to visit, my husband to stay). There was a small amount of confusion over the pickup time, but it was all worked out, and they were able to pick it up fairly near to my friend's house so it was convenient for them. They were able to get the car to my husband on Sunday the 10th, the day before he started his new job, and that was really a huge thing for us. Their price was in line with what other companies had quoted me. The car arrived fairly dirty, as it had traveled for 2400 miles on an open car carrier -- but we were told to expect that if we shipped it on an open carrier. Overall, it was easier than I thought.
Description of Work: We used the Portland, OR office of Magic Carpet Auto Transport to ship my husband's car to him in time to start his new job. They picked the car up close to our house, and dropped it off near my husband's apartment in Houston.
