The fellow who did the installation seemed to know what he was doing. He was nice. We liked the sales people there. They do a great job. They are energy saving devices. We always purchased appliances from different store; but we saw their price was good.
Description of Work: We purchased a freezer, washer, and dryer from Appliance Clinic. They also installed them around 5 years ago.

I received a follow-up call the next day saying the men would be at my house between 1-3pm. I reminded them they told me 10am-12nn. When the truck arrived at my house there was only one young man, not two as they had told me. He proceeded to take down my old built-in microwave, and encountered difficulties. He tried pulling it out and it did not budge. Then he tried pulling it in a downward movement to try to break off the screws attached in the back. This punched in and tore my formica wall in two places. Finally he unfastened the bottom cover so he could see what was holding it. In the end, he finally got it down, and my new one installed. My old one had three bolts on top holding it, this new one has two. My old microwave had five screws in the back, I only saw him put one in the template (but it must be two), as he took the majority of the screws that came with it. Only time will tell if this microwave stays in place or not. I say don't make the same mistake I did thinking a specialed store knows what there doing. I say pay less money and go with Lowes. Not only that, they didn't review the equipment with me at all. It is still up to me to read the owners manual. The other items I was surprised at was that he didn't come prepared. He needed to borrow a step stool; then scotch tape to mend the riped instructions; then a letter opener to bend my exhaust fan out to fit the new microwave, which didn't fit so he used the metal tape to seal it; and a little hack saw to saw some of the adjacent cubbord away; and paper towells to clean up after himself. In summary, I feel I got taken. I hope the people reading this make a better choice than I did.
Description of Work: I purchased a new microwave and paid to have it installed. The price of the microwave and the installation charges were cheaper at Lowes, but I thought if paid the extra money to have appliance specialists install it there wouldn't be any problems. They told me two men would come to my house between 10am-12nn.

Within a few seconds, he diagnosed the problem. He pulled out the second freezer shelf and showed an ice sheet on the back wall. He also said that there was a larger unseen ice sheet behind. The ice wasn't thawing out, reducing air flow. They are prompt, courteous, quick, and thorough. I have used them about ten times, and I like them.

I had just gotten back from a vacation and found the refrigerator was not running cool, however, the freezer portion was working fine. About 9 AM I called Appliance Clinic and scheduled an appointment for the next day. Early in the afternoon they called back and said they had finished early on another job and would be available shortly if it would fit into my schedule. I met the them at my place and within 20 minutes the repair was finished.

Steve B. the technician was on time if not early. Clean and professional. Diagnosed the problem quickly and efficiently. Quoted the cost for parts and repairs, ordered the parts and scheduled an installation date. Everything was done professionally and my refrigerator is working better than before it broke! Steve B. did an excellent and thorough job and would never hesitate to call Appliance Clinic and request Steve B. to do the repairs on any of my appliances.

To fully understand my how I came to find APPLIANCE CLINIC, Steve, his crew (Steve B. in particular) and my high level of appreciation for their services, I want to set up the story by also describing the hassle I went through in the weeks prior to finding the APPLIANCE CLINIC. My side-by-side refrigerator wasn't keeping the food cold anymore, and the freezer side was frosting up on the back wall. I had originally taken all the food out; called another place I'd done business with before, and described exactly what was going on. I got the impression they could fix my issue, but I had to deliver my fridge to them. Okay fine - I took the day off, completely emptied and cleaned my fridge, and rented a truck to take it out there. They let it sit for a day then plugged it back in and told me nothing was wrong. Additionally, I was told that the water feature I asked about would never work again as the part it required was no longer made. So I went and got my fridge, and brought it home, plugged it in, put all the food back and chalked it up to being a glitch. After all that, renting the truck TWICE to haul my fridge across town, I spent a lot of time, effort, money and a day off to find that five days later it was completely shot... Now I was worse off than before and out over $300!! I was so frustrated (and mad I'd spent money and time for no results) and I believed I'd have to buy a new fridge. Before I went that far, I decided to shop around and call another repair place. Thus, I stumbled upon APPLIANCE CLINIC. This place, APPLIANCE CLINIC, is a real lifesaver. Had I just called them in the first place, my problem would have been solved quickly, rather than all the hassle I went through before trying to do it myself. Steve B. came out to my house and he was early!! After a brief conversation, he looked inside and knew exactly what the issue was (the freezer had frost all over the back panel and it's a frostless). He took off the panel and took off the little part that was the problem. The thermostat has gone bad and all it required was a new one to be reattached. Simple!!! He fixed my problem w/in 30 minutes of his arrival, was professional and efficient in doing so. He cleaned up after himself and put everything back the way he found it. I decided to ask about my water problem so he looked at that for me as well... I told him of my previous situation with the other company and what they'd told me. He immediately radioed into his shop and found out there was an updated replacement part that would actually work better than the original. He asked if I wanted to order it and I said yes. The work done would be rolled into the original issue and he'd come back, install the new part once it came in and then we could settle the bill. That seemed very reasonable to me, as I was concerned about costs, time and labor and the fact they make house calls. All the work Steve B. did, the two parts, time, labor and two house calls, my total bill was a little more than $200. Quite frankly, it was THE best money I've spent as had I not called them, I probably would have replaced a perfectly good nine-year old refrigerator (which good ones like mine cost $1600 or more). I felt valued as a customer, was explained everything so I understood it, and know darn well I was not taken advantage of because I'm a single woman. This business prides itself on honesty, integrity and doing the right thing. I can only say they have earned my business (and trust!) for any future issues... additionally, I will seek them out for as consultants for any advice prior to purchasing any new appliance. They know their appliances, the track records of the companies, the design features and flaws, and truly are committed to making sure their customers have the best experience possible. They ARE the experts in the field and they have my highest recommendation... and this, coming from a woman who believes she can fix/handle anything... I will always defer to them from this point forward as they are a business I can rely upon when I need assistance.
Description of Work: They replaced two parts in my nine-year-old side-by-side refrigerator - one was a thermostat that regulates not only the freezer side but the fridge side as well. In addition, they replaced a part that makes the water/ice feature work. It's where the tubes connect to the pump when the water pulls from the kitchen plumbing. A different company told me that it could not be replaced, as it was no longer made. So for the past five years, I have not used the icemaker or water feature from my refrigerator.

Described above. I was very impressed with Steve and the company.
Description of Work: We had a washing machine having a problem with spinning out water during the spin cycle; and also an ice maker issue in a side-by-side refrigerator freezer. I called on a Friday and was put on a Monday schedule. On Saturday I had a call indicating a service person would be by between 10:00am-noon. I was pleasantly surprised when Steve showed up at 9:40am! He identified two parts needed for the ice maker and counseled replacement of the washing machine as parts alone were to be $250 and I had paid only $359 for the machine four years ago. The machine wasn't a bad machine, it was just being used way more than it was designed for. Steve further counseled me on the purchase, recommending a mid-range frontloader. I appreciated his honesty and counsel. On the ice maker, when he came back two days later, he decided it only needed one part. I appreciated that.

Appliance clinic was fabulous. I went to them with a particular dishwasher in mind. They did not have it in the store, however, stated that they could order it and have it in by the end of the week. They price matched one of the big box stores without any hesitation, in fact they looked up the price with me! The installer was friendly and professional. The day after installation, I noticed some imperfections on the stainless steel faceplate that, in poor lighting, I hadn't noticed the day before. I called them regarding this and almost immediately got a call back stating they had ordered a new faceplate for the dishwasher. I received a call the next week stating that it was in, but then received another call a few hours later stating they had opened the box and the faceplate did not meet their inspection - they were shipping it back and ordering another one! A few days later, one came in that met their inspection. When the repair man came to my house, he took the faceplate out and had me inspect it as well. It was a quick repair and he was extremely professional and polite. I was so impressed with their service. I am used to getting the "run around" from other places who are not willing to stand behind their products. Hats off to Appliance Clinic. I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Purchased dishwasher from them, then had repair for imperfections on face plate. (The price above was for the purchase of the dishwasher, tax and extended warranty - the repair did not cost anything extra.)

I called Appliance Clinic based upon the recommendations on Angie's List. Repairman Steve was at my house within 24 hours to diagnose the problem of an occasional loud noise emanating from my fairly-new french-door refrigerator. He narrowed the issue down to two possibilities. He called from my home to order the appropriate parts. I was called back within three days to schedule his return visit to install the replacement part. So, within one week of my original call, he was back. He isolated the problem and replaced the valve without any mess. Steve asked that I call back if he perchance had not fixed the problem. He had fixed the problem, and the noise is gone. The dispatcher also was courteous and efficient. He asked me to verify the date of purchase, suggesting that the appliance might likely be under warranty. It was, and there was no cost for the repairs. I liked it that Steve took the time as he worked to explain how the refrigerator operated, and what might be the cause of the problem. I have recommended Appliance Clinic to my friends and family, as I was very pleased with every aspect of the service.

Several key buttons had stopped working on the control panel for my range. I called the Appliance Clinic for a repair. They went over the problem with me on the phone when I first called to make sure they would bring all possible replacement parts to the first service call. The repairman arrived about halfway through the two hour window I'd been given. He replaced the control panel/membrane and now the range is as good as new. The part was fairly expensive, so he made sure I wanted it replaced before he did the repair.

It was a stress free event. You never really know what else the repair person can tell you especially if you don't understand, you are at they're mercy. I have also bought appliances from them before and they are good to work with, too.

We were very satisfied and would not hesitate to call them again.
Description of Work: Our washer quit working; it is 17 years old. After checking Angie's List I called Appliance Clinic and explained the problem. They suggested it might only require a minor repair and said they could have someone out in the next 3 hours. Two hours later a repairman arrived and it was a minor repair that cost slightly less than what was quoted over the phone. The repairman was courteous, friendly, and knew his stuff.

It went very well. He was such a nice guy I would ask for him again when I need appliance service.
Description of Work: Steve arrived within the time promised. He basically took my machine apart and cleaned it as the problem had been caused by a build up of fabric softener residue as my type of machine uses such small amounts of water that would not wash it away. He gave me several hints of ways to keep it clean by using common household chemicals. He was very pleasant and friendly. I felt the cost of his service was very reasonable for all the work he did. He even checked my dryer although the problem had been with the washer to make sure it was running properly.

I called them up on 2/9/08. Described the problem. Gave them the model and serial number of my washer. Made an appt. for getting it fixed on 2/15/08. They said they could come on that day but wouldn't be able to give me a morning or afternoon time frame until the day before the appt. They called me on 2/14 and said they would be at my house between 1 and 3 PM the next day. A competent and polite repairman arrived at 1 PM and completed the job in less than an hour.

The Appliance Clinic was very good about returning calls and setting up an appointment. Steve arrived on time. Having decided against repairing the stove, I purchased a three year old electric range for just $100.00 which I found on 'that other guy's list'. I gave my damaged stove away for free to a fellow who repairs and resells large appliances. I don't really know if the estimate I received was reasonable or not, I just know it was more than I was willing to spend.
Description of Work: Steve, from the Appliance Clinic, came to my house to take a look at my Whirlpool electric range. The burners on the left side of the stove hadn't worked for a couple of months, and now the burners on the right wouldn't turn off and were stuck on high. Steve was able to get the two smaller burners, one right, one left, working properly. The two larger burners were ruined as were the plugs they slide into. I learned that boil overs from pasta water or soup can get into those electric plugs and short them out. The estimate to repair was as follows: 2 - Large Burners $53.90, 2 - Receptacles $23.96, 2 - Elec. Plugs $81.02, Labor $90.00, WA Tax 6.05% $15.06, Grand Total $263.94. I decided against the repair, and paid the on-site estimate fee of $64.86 instead. I also had the option of a $25.00 discount applied to appliances they sell.

Steve arrived well within the 3-5 pm time frame. He troubleshot the problem and noticed a failing part. He had both of the parts in his truck, so no need for an additional trip. Steve replaced the parts, asked for a damp rag and wiped up the inside of the washer drum and under part of the cabinet I can't get to. He confirmed that the unit was functioning properly and then ran some cold water to wash the built up soap out of the system. He was very professional and personable. When he was all done he put a sticker with the company's name and number in the dryer vent so I have it at hand the next time I need appliance service. I really like that this is a locally-owned, family business.
Description of Work: The washer wouldn't drain. The tech replaced the switch under the lid. While he had the cabinet off he checked the coupler (this washer does not have belts). He showed me the the coupler was worn. The part was inexpensive (14.95) & could be replaced within the service call minimum time frame.
