I feel that the prices are fair. He has a great quality of work. He really cares about me and my landscaping.

We have used him since last year. He just does are basic yard work right now. We have a large yard. We like his attention to detail and his responsiveness. He is a really good guy. He is really good at cleaning up. He doesn't leave anything lying around.

We first carefully reviewed the reports on Angie's List and were very impressed with the recommendations of Jim's former clients in the Vancouver area where we live. Jim was professional and pleasant on our first phone contact and arrived as promised and on time for the estimate. He walked over the property with us, asked very good questions about our vision for the lighting, and offered many creative suggestions that we loved. Jim was detail-oriented and exacting. For the street trees, he was well-versed in Vancouver's street tree ordinance and suggested a species that conformed to the Urban Forestry's guidelines. They were planted skillfully, with the surrounding sod carefully sliced away in a neat rectangle. Jim helped us choose the lighting fixtures from a catalog, again offering knowledgeable suggestions when we had trouble making a specific choice. He and his employee installed the entire system in one day. I drove home from work at dusk and was surprised by a beautiful, soft ambient light around the periphery of our front and side yards. It is absolutely stunning! Jim is warm, easy to talk to, and very flexible. We were so thrilled with his work and confident of his expertise that we decided to contract with Detail Landscaping to perform our weekly maintenance program! Thank you, Jim, for giving our landscaping a gorgeous lighting accent!

They generally come out weekly (except for winter time) to perform lawn and bed maintenance on the yard.

They did an excellent job. They were very prompt very polite and very professional. And the prices were pretty reasonable. They were easy to work and answered all my questions and concerns.

I called Jim two or three times. He was very cordial and initially told me he would return my call. Later he told me someone from his team would contact me. I never head from anyone again.

I described my need to replace a ball valve for my sprinkler system on the phone and Jim Hendry agreed to come out and look at the job. I had the valve exposed and it appeared to be a straightforward job for Jim although I was not willing to try it myself. He was very professional and informative. Before he left he gave me advice on caring form my shrubs and lawn and adjusted the flow of my existing lawn-watering sprinklers. I would highly recommend him to anyone and will call him again as needed.

We have an area at the back of our house that's approximately 300 sq. ft. It attracts all sorts of useless/used items-old doors, an old table, bits of wood, a broken window. It was embarrassing and ugly and I just wanted it all paved over so at least I could get it looking tidy. Jim was one of 3 companies that we had quotes for and within the first few minutes I new we had a deal. It wasn't just, "Thank you. it'll be$$$$$" Jim asked what we wanted to use the area for and used that to guide the project. It turns out that paving it all would have been an unnecessary expense and Jim explained to us a cheaper option.

After Jim returned an extremely reasonable estimate, work started within 2 weeks. This estimate included free irrigation re-routing including some sprinkler heads. (Consequently, we had our front yard irrigation re done by Jim for a great price). Jim was very willing to work with resources that we had of our own, like use of a treaded tractor. The whole project took a bit longer than expected due to bad weather and a couple of days of short staffing. I am very pleased with the choice of plants Jim used and he has replaced a tree at no charge when it didn t make it. His employees were very nice, respectful and trustworthy. A slight miscommunication about some bark dust being placed at one end of the property was easily taken care of with no complaints from Jim or his employees. I have recommended Detail Landscaping to everyone I know in need of landscape work.

We had no clue how to hire a landscaper how to know who s good, whose reasonable, whose reliable. And most importantly, how do you get the design you want if you don t know what design you want! We had a few ideas but didn t know if they were any good and wanted a landscaper who could tell us what works and what doesn t, with strong ideas and standards but responsive to the homeowner's ideas, needs and setting. We think Jim hit the perfect balance put in a plan we love that s equal parts our design and his professionalism. On all the rest, A s as well. Absolutely showed up every time he was supposed to, great crew, thorough, meticulous, professional work on every part of the job, great care exercised to protect our property (for example put down plywood under the rocks, soil and gravel), excellent clean up, the whole shebang. And, as far as we can tell, his rates are completely reasonable. We might have found someone cheaper but would probably have not gotten nearly the quality. Conversely, we are sure we could have paid a lot more for the project than we did. He only mildly objected when we wanted to use lower end lighting fixtures to save a few bucks. We would recommend Detail Landscaping without reservation.

Hard to say if he listened poorly or we communicated poorly. Did not matter. He extended the wall without charging us for the extra blocks, soil or labor, and without whining, even though he is no doubt running on a small margin and we offered to pay the extra cost. He voluntarily performed a few other extra chores for us, at no charge. A couple we asked for (and offered to pay). A couple he just did. We have never been happier with a contractor.
