It’s not often I feel compelled to write a review. The experience has to be either really bad or really great. Wessco lands at the really great end of the spectrum! We just finished remodeling a house and needed new window coverings. We shopped around and found the folks at Wessco to be the most helpful and knowledgeable. They came to our house with their samples to show us our different color options and blind/shade types. We opted for roller shades on our first floor where our living area is and cellular up/down shades upstairs where our bedrooms are. They saved us from choosing the wrong color in our bedrooms and also advised us on the proper open percentage to choose for our roller shades. They were even able to add some custom touches to our blinds from the factory due to their close relationship with Hunter Douglas. Installation was quick, professional, and painless. Lance even fixed a few things that I would have never noticed, but he said he’d never want a client noticing something minor wrong even a few years down the line, so he made sure everything was perfect. Our new blinds and shades look amazing and are the perfect compliment to our house. Our favorite feature is the remote control and automated motorization of the up/down cellular shades in our master bedroom. We have 10 windows in our bedroom, so going around and adjusting them every morning and evening would be a pain. (I know...we’re spoiled.) Lance helped set them up to open automatically in the morning, just from the top down, so we still have privacy, but can still see out. Later in the morning, they open all the way. This happens again automatically at one hour after sunset and then they close all the way before we go to bed. So nice! Thank you for the great service and great product, Wessco!

The two men who came out to actually take the blinds down were very nice and professional.
Description of Work: I bought some Hunter Douglas Screes Saver blinds 2 years ago from Wessco Blinds. I was told that they included a warrantee. After 2 years, 3 of the 4 blinds were not functioning properly (wouldn't raise or lower). I called Wessco Blinds re this. They confirmed that they were covered by a warrantee, however, there would be a charge of $95.00 to take the blinds down and bring them in for repair. Another $95.00 charge for bringing them back. In fact they charged me $217.00, so the cost was $108.50 for both trips. I believe that if this is the case, the customer should be told at the time the blinds are purchased. This did not occur. On top of this, the person I spoke to (apparently the manager) was very rude. I think people need to be aware of the high charge associated with repair of the blinds. People also need to be aware that, at least from my perspective, the customer service at Wessco Blinds was severely lacking.

I have used them before and it went well. They have a lot of useful information about efficiency of blinds, tax credits, and other suggestions about how to best install them.
Description of Work: They came in and helped me pick out some blinds for two rooms, measured, and then installed them.

I wanted solar shades and was shopping around and compared WESSCO with Custom Decortors (COSTCO VENDOR) and was so thrilled with the service and price I got from WESSCO! I had gone to them first for samples of shades and they sent me home with some squares, then they offered to come out and bring samples but wasn't ready, I also went online to blinds.com and ordered 10 samples and none were what I was looking for as far as color/opacity, and so then called COSTCO 1-800 number and got a rep with Custom decorators, who only could come to the house. I told the Custom Decorators rep which Hunter Douglas shade I liked and he came with similar ones, and had a lot of experience selling all Hunter Douglas blinds, and assured me that with their warranty through COSTCO and their price I wouldn't find any better.I had already had a rough estimate from WESSCO and without exact measurements they were cheaper, so went back to them with the exact measurements and they came in over $160 cheaper than the COSTCO price for the exact same shade material.WESSCO doesn't require that you use their installer, and since I was only looking for 3 shades to be hung, I was totally comfortable doing this myself. COSTCO REQUIRED that I use their installer "in order to keep the warranty" for $133. Seriously? This was Hunter Douglas I was dealing with - the warrantly with WESSCO was the same whether or not I used their installer.Also, the WESSCO blinds person (Kamm Nelson) was more than happy to quote me in person, or over the phone. She was GREAT! They also have a cash/check discount. They also have a SALE - the COSTCO didn't have.I called Custom Decorators back and they were COMPLETELY UNWILLING to match a price. not only that, the lady got completely angry with me and went on for 5 minutes (Iit felt way longer) about how "her time was worth something and that she's not just a Hunter Douglas salesperson, but a decorator" etc., etc. Well, I already knew what I wanted and didn't need a decorator, I didn't need to "pay for her time" and after that very clear lecture, that only pushed me to WESSCO more. I also learned that WESSCO WOULD BEAT OR MATCH ANY PRICE IF I CAME IN WITH A QUOTE!!!! Even from COSTCO!Plus, they were just a lot nicer, have been around for 20+ years, and supported the Hunter Douglas warranty whether I used their installer or not. They also offered the same, free in home consultation for measuring and shopping, but I didn't need it because I already had found what I wanted.PLEASE USE WESSCO BLINDS! They are a great local company and have superior customer experience - whether you already know what you want and are shopping quotes around, or need the full-service experience. THEY DELIVER ON ALL ASPECTS!

The entire process was amazingly simple. The estimator/owner has a wealth of experience and knowledge and so is able to recommend appropriate window treatments for every situation. The installers were punctual, polite, professional--and FAST! The estimate was lower than the big-box dealer's, and we received our blinds in half the time.

It went pretty well. Leigh came over, measured all our windows and gave me some really good ideas on what to order. I do love what we got. The installers were fast, efficient and very friendly. They cleaned up as they went. My only frustration was partly my fault. I thought we were getting cordless blinds in the living room and kitchen but when I checked my order, which I had approved, they were not called out as cordless. Because I was at fault for not noticing it, I did not bring it up with Wessco. I do LOVE the blinds I ordered. They look wonderful and have improved the feel of our home.

It went well from beginning to end. They came when they said they would, installation was smooth, and the followup gracious. Their work was meticulous in all ways.
Description of Work: The business staff are personable and knowledgeable. The measured twice for accuracy, were polite to all questions, gave an estimate that proved acceptable and there were no hidden fees. The people who did the installation did a fantastic job, came back to be sure everything was to our liking and were definitely the best team we have encountered in years of experience(s). The Wessco billing did not apply the final charges until they were assured of our absolute satisfaction. We would recommend them to any seeking window treatments.

Their work and service is only "just good enough." Expectations were barely met as opposed to being exceeded. It took weeks to get them in to measure including at least one when they said I wasn't there (I had stepped out for a sandwich.) The delivery time was nearly 2 weeks late. Then the installer (1/2 a day late and one of their "very best") gouges up the wall installing the first of the blinds after arriving. I politely requested they be careful and the installer walked off the job. Installer tells me rep and new installer will be out in PM to finish. Had to wait 5 days for finish (OK they don't work the weekends.) New installers were good, but 3 or 4 of the shades are still the wrong size and 1/2 doz barely hang straight. Fortunately the mis-sized were too big so they could be trimmed down. I was told they could turn it around in "a day or so." It is now a week later and am told again it will be a "day or so." What a grind.

THEY WERE GREAT. THEY KEPT THE RECORDS OF ALL OUR PURCHASES AND MEASURINGS OVER A THREE YEAR PERIOD. SO, WHEN WE PUT IN AN ORDER ON SOMETHING FROM YEARS AGO, THEY HAD A RECORD OF STYLE, COLOR AND SIZE THAT WE NEEDED. I PLACED THE ORDER OVER THE PHONE AND IN ONE WEEK, THEY WERE INSTALLED.
