Lack of integrity, again and again. Damages created & repaired on our dollar, and not warrantied. Annual clean-up estimate price by owner given, then changed. Then changed again at billing. Later it was honored. Our original site visit for estimate by Bill himself, "30 years experience," for $325 per month + tax, with $650 annual trimming & pruning. After beginning service, promptly changed service rates to $405.53 per month + tax, and $975 annual trimming & pruning (will come back to for what actual annual clean-up was eventually billed). We have a large yard so we thought interesting mistake for a long-time pro, but okay, was more than previous landscapers, maybe this guy is worth it. Our 18-year-old sprinkler system needed some TLC, and his long-time irrigation team of two people surveyed the property and quoted "$1200." Quoted emailed to us was $2400. Again, we took the price change anyway, also adding some trench digging for an ongoing landscape lighting electrical repair, at which point irrigation pipes were damaged by his landscape team -- these were -not- fixed for free like another review had mentioned when this happened to them, we paid full labor for their breaking & (temporary, see below) repair of our irrigation pipes. 8 months later, this very same pipe repair did not hold and burst water last week. We contacted Bill to have no response to warranty his recent repair (again this was a break -created- by his team we had already paid for repair last fall). The case of little to no response, even after many attempts, for many requests from weeding to treating clovers and moss, and fertilizing, most of which if we were lucky we caught the operations team, mainly Carlos who usually completed most items when requested. Messaging the owner was rarely a good way to spend our time, and Carlos said we needed to contact Bill. This was frustrating. It was somehow helpful to know many other reviewers had these issues as well. Finally, this last item did eventually get resolved but it was another case of us needing to keep watch, something we don't feel we should be on guard for -- the original $650 annual clean-up proposed by owner at his own estimate, which after service began changed promptly up to $975. What was billed through when annual clean up was actually done? $1650. Invoice 24711, for $1650, was later discounted by $800. It is worth noting there was an additional $2k+ in compost delivery where they buried our 25+ sprinkler heads, and his own irrigation team shared how unhappy they were as this always happened. Luckily with our other service of $2400+ in irrigation updates, they uncovered the heads before the compost settled and became an issue at all with the system in the spring (albeit at the breaking of a pipe we paid for repair). Overall, we felt keeping tabs on whether prices would be honored on various occasions, paying for damages & repairs they created, and then not even honoring warranty of those repairs, was not worth all the effort. We found another well-reviewed landscaper who charged rates less than Bill originally estimated (but then changed), and substantially less for annual clean-up.

We went over and above for this customer that was issues with his sprinkler system to begin with and in order to do it and fix it correctly we would’ve had to rip it out completely. We tried to please him without the cost of tearing up his whole yard. It’s a shame that he had to give a bad review when we have hundreds of satisfied customers

Never could get Bill to return my calls, I know he would classified me hard to work with and had to me let go. Except I let them go. Cause of Bill, Invoice issues and ignoring my calls were the biggest reasons. Crew that mowed were good, no issues always said I needed to talk to Bill when I needed anything besides mow or edging don't expect your flower beds ever weeded. Also when I let him go he was rather rude. Good Luck

It all started with a telephone bid for the work and we offered to meet them to discuss what we wanted done. When doing the initial cleaning they tore out some good ground cover used to keep weeds out after we gave explicit instruction on what to remove and what to stay. We requested mulch to be placed in upper & lower yard. Work resulted in thick application in upper yard and none in lower yard. They continued bi-weekly maintenance and we asked them to correct the lack of mulch in lower area weeks later. Asked for 1 - 2 yards of mulch for lower only and they applied 3 yards all to upper and again none to the lower. Asked to correct mistake and they moved a little to lower but not enough. Besides overcharging for mulch on second application, they charged extra fee for going back to correct their mistake, even when they claimed they didn't. We stopped the service and explained why, but have gotten ongoing maintenance charge invoices. During this process we tried a number of times to call to discuss but call backs were very rare, if at all and most was back/forth via voice message. Would not use again or recommend to others for anything more than someone to mow your small yard.

Description of Work: When I moved into this house last Spring the backyard had astroturf on it and the sides of the house were overgrown. The YardButlers removed the overgrowth, planted trees on the driveway side and created a dog run on the other side of the house. Once the astroturf was removed we discovered about 18" of fill, not soil or gravel, underneath. The fill had been placed against the fence, garage and beneath the deck. There was a lot of rot. The YardButlers excavated the fill, leveled the backyard, built a bed around the perimeter and laid sod. They also replaced the fence and deck. They installed landscape lighting in the back bed. It was a huge mess but they got it done. They worked hard, did good work, were polite and as economical as possible.

They are professional and reliable. The grass and the flower beds look great. Billing for services is accurate. I used their services last year and continued this year because they do such a great job.
Description of Work: Lawn is mowed, and edging is done every other week during the growing season. In the Fall, they do cleanup of leaves, branches. January and February, they don't come. Saves me some money.

Description of Work: They did a complete makeover of our entire lot - including fences. Bill came up with truly innovative solutions to problems, and we believe the improvements The YardButlers have made will increase the value of our home well beyond the cost of those improvements. We also plan to use them for routine maintenance in the future.

They came over and made my yard look beautiful. I also have had them performing this annually for the past three years. They also maintain the yard twice a month by mowing and cleaning the drive and charge a monthly fee of $90.00. I've been pleased with their work over the years; they even dispose of my Christmas tree every year for me.

The major cleanup was done in a timely fashion and we were quite pleased with the results. There were a couple areas that weren't covered with the new mulch. I covered a couple areas and Mr. Volpentest covered the other spots. Several weeds were left in our rockery next to the fence and they were to be sprayed and removed when they died, that took 2 weeks. I explained exactly what we expected in a maintenance plan and explained that I have high expectations. He felt that my request was more than fair and no more than should be expected. At the first maintenance visit the only thing done was the mowing and trimming. No weeding (which was very little) was done, the parking strip wasn't raked. I called Mr. V and he explained that he told his crew to just mow and trim as he was coming the next day to finish the weeding and raking and to plant a few plants as requested. He did come and plant 10-12 small plants and sprayed the weeds, pulling others. This at a charge of $80---over and above the $50 for the mow and trim. In subsequent visits weeding was not done, I had to call and remind him to deadhead the rhody and lilac. They did that and that was the last deadheading that was ever done. I left the dead flowers on our other lilac for four weeks, waiting for Mr. V. to stop by and check the work. He never did. His crew was due to come today. No show, no call. This is the second time this has happened. I called him to tell him we no longer required his services. Instead of apologizing he blasted me and told me he(who is never here) and his crew "bend over backwards to keep you happy" and that I "expect way too much in this economy and I should hire a kid for $12 an hour and see how well he does ". Then he hung up on me. I'm a senior citizen and my mother is 91 years old. I'm sure if there was a man here he would not have taken advantage of us. He is a charming man and gives a GREAT sales pitch. I think he is capable but I think in the long run he gives the responsibililty to his staff and is too lazy to check up on them. So I think I will take his advise and hire a kid for $12 an hour-----I bet he'll be happy to have a job in this economy and will do the job he'll be hired to do.
Description of Work: Complete yard cleanup, new sod, some new plantings with weekly yard maintenance to follow the major work. The yard maintenance was to include lawn mowing and edge trimming, deadheading, pulling new weeds as they appear, remove clippings from the flower beds, rake the parking strip. Pruning and fertilizing would be done as needed. This is at a cost of $50 a week or $200 a month. The amount of lawn that needs mowing is quite small and takes very little time to mow.

This customer was hard to deal with, but I always consider challenges in this line of work. You can't please everyone all the time. This is part of the business. She was great in the beginning but was a constant complainer. I finally had to let her go.
