Things started out great! I drove by and saw this company was having a huge sale so I walked in one day and talked to a designer. He seemed very knowledgable and experienced and I was very impressed with him. I had my rough drawing and dimentions of my kitchen and he drew up a plan for me and a rough estimate. I was told they could throw in a free under mount sink as well! I shopped around a bit and found that they were half the price of the other places! And had better quality cabinets (solid wood!) I went back to them to finalize things and order the cabinets and granite and found out that the designer had quit and erased what we had drawn up! But I still had my copy so I gave it to the new designer and she redid everything. A few days later she calls me and tells me the sink we orriginally had would not work if I wanted it centered under the window and was shocked that it would have been free. So I said I would get my own then. The designer comes out and does final measurements (I was surprised it wasn't the installers doing this). I went back to the showroom once more to order the cabinets and give her my deposit. A day later I get another call..she tells me the cabinet above the fridge doesn't come as deep as we wanted it so it will cost more because the installers will have to build a cabinet and use the doors from the one that won't work. OK..it will look nicer that way. So the installers come (only one of the 3 guys speak a little English so it was hard to communicate and I was told they would be there between 8 and 10am..they didn't show til after 10:30) and work hard putting the cabinets in and they look great. But I notice the doors are slightly different then I wanted. They are double shaker and I wanted single..oh well..I looked at the invoice I had and I should have seen that before..they still look nice so I don't say anything. Also the cabinet they had to build looks like the regular cabinet just hung off the wall flush with the deeper cabinet next to it and I have an extra sheet of wood laying in my garage. I'm thinking that sheet was what they were supposed to turn into the box of the cabinet and didn't do that (I still have to bring that up to the designer since I paid extra for that). And I notice that the pantry cabinet does not have roll out shelves like I had orriginally talked to the guy designer who quit about putting in. The other designer said she didn't realize that I wanted that and since they don't have a catalog of what each cabinet on my invoice looks like I didn't realize that was not on the invoice. Of course they cost extra but she called her boss and if I install them myself, she can give them to me for half price..OK that will work. The next day the installers come back and cut the granite countertop and install them. There was some miscommunication about what time they were coming but the job got done and looked great! He hands me paperwork for the remaining balance and it is more than what my invoice shows I owe!!!! So he calls the boss and hands me the phone. Apparently the designer mismeasured and it took more slabs of granite than they charged me for so they charge me $130 more. I'm sorry but a contract has been signed and it is not my fault that they messed up. I argue with her and she says she will just charge me for the extra material and not the install. Luckily my boyfriend is a project engineer for a huge construction company and deals with this all the time so he took the phone and explain that I do not have to pay the extra amount because they messed up and it was not an estimate but a signed contract. I gave the installer a check for the remaining balance MY invoice showed and he was very nice about it. I still have to get the roll out shelves and am a little nervous about what will come of my not paying their exrta amount but I do know that legally I was right in not having to pay the extra cost. Everything had been going fairly well up until that point and I would probably have recommended them to other people (my parents have been thinking of redoing their kitchen) but now I would not!!
