 + -1 moreWe've had a slow leak at the base of one of our toilets and have had problems with the caulk failing around our tub. I called this plumber because of high ratings in Angie's List. They sent a young guy who seemed more of an apprentice and I definitely questioned his experience. He scratched his head a lot but didn't seem to know who to solve either of the problems. He ended up re-caulking part of the tub but I think it was just because he didn't know what else to do. I was disappointed.
Description of Work: Leak at base of toilet and caulking problem.

There was no mess left behind and payment was easy. I was very impressed with the company that this service provided, given the fact that I am rather skeptical about most service providers.
Description of Work: We needed to have a pipe capped off in our older home. A new pipe and dual valve needed to be installed under the kitchen sink to accommodate a new dishwasher.

Description of Work: Peter arrived on time and ready to go. The first visit went very smoothly, he tackled our kitchen sink and incinerator problem with ease. (We had another plumber install it and 2 of the 3 bolts had jostled free. He re-adjusted my soap pump, and then we moved to the bathroom. In the bathroom, he pointed out several more time-intense projects that he felt needed to be dealt with immediately. We were not even aware of the problems, and agreed to make another appointment with him. We then moved to our basement, where we wanted one of two utility sinks removed, with new pipes hooked up and a new faucet installed. We also wished to move our washer over to make room for our dryer. We knew this would be labor intensive, and when I asked for a rough estimate, Peter thought it would be about $500-$600. We then agreed to set up another appointment by phone so he could get to his next job. Three days later Peter was back, and he worked tirelessly to get the above work done. He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and I would definitely want him to work again on the house. Everything went well, although it took him a bit longer than he had anticipated. I said this was no problem, not knowing one thing, the price! We got the bill in the mail about a week later, and there are two things that really made my head hurt. On my original phone call, I asked the price per hour and was given a $95.00 an hour rate. When we received our $1400.00 bill for 6 hours of labor, this was only the first hour (which is the minimum) and then the rest is at $160.00 an hour because Peter is a Journeyman! (Explains why he was so good!) I have yet to call in to try and resolve this, because I truly believe that Peter is the best, but I feel very mislead in how much this was costing us.

Description of Work: A faucet wouldn't turn off--he put in a new, better washer and did the other washer while he was at it. Also, the toilet was leaking and he put in a new mechanism. All works fine now.

 + -1 moreThe technician arrived near the end of the 2 hour window that was given. At least the dispatcher called to let us know that he was running late and when he was actually on his way. The sewer scope went okay. He wasn't able to scope the entire sewer because he couldn't get the scope over a rough joint about 85 feet from the start point. This meant that we weren't able to see the entire sewer all the way to the main sewer connection. He explained various options and things we needed for upkeep, and then went on his way. He stayed less than the estimated time and could not complete the sewer scope, yet he charged more than what other people have reported on here for a similar service from the same company, so I feel that I got ripped off since he charged twice as much as what people have reported here.
Description of Work: As part of purchasing a house, we wanted to get the sewer scoped to make sure that the sewer was in good shape. Given the age of the house we were buying, it was important for us to double check it. Based on this list, we used O'Neill plumbing.

He was diligent in doing his job. He even fashioned tools to get this drain cleaned. I had a different plumber tell me that I would have to replace the whole drain to the street. This guy managed to pull some hideous crud from the drain and clear it. He was very creative and determined. He was into customer satisfaction.

The plumber, John Keigley, was very pleasant, very professional, and very efficient. He replaced the fill valves, flappers, and supply line within 40 minutes. I would definitely use this company for any other plumbing needs.

 + -1 moreThe sewer estimate went very smoothly, but the plumbing job went poorly. After spending a half hour walking around the house, he gave me an estimate for how much the work would cost and asked if he could get started fixing some minor things around the house. He then proceeded to caulk a sink and fix a leaky faucet. This took him less than half an hour including time spent walking to his truck and back. He then proceeded to charge me for an entire hour of work, which meant that I ended up paying close to $250 for fixing a leaky faucet and caulking a sink. I was very very unhappy and ended up going with someone else (A&B plumbing, very very highly recommended and I'll be submitting a report about them) for both the sewer and plumbing jobs.
Description of Work: I called O'Neill for two estimates - one to replace a section of my sewer pipe, and another for estimates for general plumbing work (replacing some pipes, fixing a leak). I was told both estimates would be free

 + -1 moreI really liked these guys. The first plumber called in the supervisor and then sent a different guy the following day to complete the work. They just charged me for the work and not the confusion. Excellent company. I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: The first plumber had to cut a whole in my kitchen ceiling. He just cut what was necessary and did a good job of cleaning up. The next guy removed pipes and installed pipes. A third "supervisor" came to give advice about how to get the job done at the lowest cost.

Description of Work: The toilet was leaking around the base in our 1929 era home. They came out, as scheduled, and replaced the wax seal and lead flashing connecting the bottom of the toilet to the sewer drain. There was one minor wood rot so they had a system to re-bolt the toilet into the floor.
