John the plumber was prompt, professional, informative, and cheerful. The crawl space is very narrow, so he was working in very difficult circumstances. He explained what needed to be done, did it, tested the fix, and also fixed a loose faucet part in my kitchen. Very good ecperience.

Plumber Dale was prompt, professional, friendly, competent, and very knowledgeable. The toilet flange was leaking, so he replaced it with another one. It was difficult because the floor under the toilet is in bad shape. He first diagnosed the leak from looking into the crawl space, and determined it was from the toilet. I've had no trouble since he fixed it. He was very willing to answer any questions I had. Very good experience.

After reading the good reviews on Angie's List, I went to O'Neill's website and e-mailed them for information. I had also contacted two other companies with good reviews at the same time. The O'Neill Plumbing company representative called back promptly and was pleasant and helpful. After talking to them at length about the issues, we scheduled a service date. Pat, the O'Neill Plumbing technician, arrived promptly and, after I explained the two problems I had called about, he got right to the business of determining the the causes of the issues and how to best handle them. He was systematic in his approach and seemed knowlegable and skilled. He was not able to get to the clean-out from behind the washing machine so went to the roof vent and worked from there. He was thorough and after cleaning the drain pipes, he ran the washer at high capacity to make sure the back up had been solved completely. While the washer filled and drained, he efficiently moved on to the next project. Based on the info I gave him about the downspout drain (it hadn't been draining properly for maybe 2 years), Pat was a bit skeptical about whether it could be cleared. He outlined the reasons that cause these kind of plugs and said that occassionally the old drain needs to be abandoned and a new drain installed. That said, he set to work to see if he could clear the drain. He worked diligently and eventually managed to clear the backed up debris and dirt that had clogged the drain. I was elated as I wasn't too thrilled about the prospect of digging a new trench that would disrupt the well-established tree, shrubs, and plantings in the garden beds. Pat was knowlegable, respectful, thorough, and tenatious in getting to a viable solution. My overall experience was good and things turned out better than I had hoped. And as a bonus - they had a $30 coupon on their website that I used. I will definitely call O'Neill Plumbing for future needs.
Description of Work: I called O'Neill Plumbing for two issues: a downspout underground drain running from the front of the house to the curb had clogged and when it rained, the water from that section of gutter was saturating the ground at the house foundation and subsequently causing water accumulation in the crawl space. The second issue was that the mutual kitchen sink/laundry drain from the house was running very slow and water would back up into the kitchen sink anytime I ran a medium to large load of laundry. Multiple applications of drain cleaner had helped a little but didn't solve the issue. Both issues were taken care of quickly. The sink is no longer backing up when I do laundry. I won't know for absolutely sure about the downspout until we have a good rainfall, but it should be fine since water from the hose run down the drain now runs out at the curb as it should.

They brought a selection of faucets for me to choose from. They were very professional. Ken was extremely helpful. They showed up on time. They gave me the AL discount. They did a really great job and I love my two faucets. They have done work for me past and I will use them again. I would recommend them to others.

From the phone call with Kelly to meeting John when he arrived, it was quick, professional and he was very mindful of keeping thing neat and clean as he worked. He was a very nice guy, quite personable, and worked fast. He was in and out in an hour, and even fixed a small leak on the pipe as well. I highly recommed these guys, they are super. My only "B" rating was pricing. At $160 bucks an hour... ouch!

Satisfied with results. Called because of low-flow/no pressure with hot water. Quickly determined it was due to failure of the hot water tank (14 years old) and was able to replace during initial visit without additional service call. Because of debris in the hot water line, all faucets and showerheads had to be bled to remove build-up. Serviceman was knowledgeable and efficient.

Chose O'Neill based on Angie's List reviews. Called back upon initial inquiry right away. Job entailed fixing bathtub drain - 1920s drum trap, leaking drain, worn drain pipe. Called and was able to set a date w/in 3 days. Owner Tim O'neill was reponsive to e-mail to explain further info on job. John came for initial visit on 6/30. He was behind due to unforseen schedule slow downs - got two calls from Tim and Kelly asking me if it was OK for him to still come out. Highly respect John - he assessed the situation and said that he really needed a second person to help get the job done - didn't charge me for that visit (I appreciated his honesty; he wanted help to get the job done right. Estimated $800 - $1000, but really based on labor and materials. Immediately scheduled appointment with Kelly to have John and Ken return for 1st appt on 7/6 in the am. Showed up right on time at 0800. Two people, 3 hours, averaging $112 per man-hour. A+ work. I'm really happy with the work and the company and would definitely use again. Don't listen to all those other Angie's List complainers that say that O'Neill is pricey. Time is money. They charge a fair price for high quality work - and none of MY time was wasted. Sure, maybe I could have saved $100 or so with someone unlicensed, etc., but that would have taking more of my time to micromanage the job. Do it right, go with O'Neill - you won't be sorry. The individual who was assigned to give us the estimate was very doubtful of his expertise in installing toilet with low-high flush options from Australia. He glanced at the instructions and insisted it would be very difficult and time consuming and that he would have to call the company to get information (although he had spent less than two minutes with the written instructions on how to install them). He told us that they did no jobs (each facility being a "job") in less than an hour of billed time, even if it took less than an hour of clock time. He gave us a verbal estimate of over $450 to install one toilet and the sink-faucet combination (equating to $900 for the work we had orignially requested an estimate for). He stated that it would take at least 3 hours to install both toilets, partly because he didn't know how to do it. This was after he supposedly returned to the truck and called his office for advice or direction. As my wife and I discussed the estimate, he said that it appeared I had a "problem" with him.. I told him that I had not personal reaction to him, but I did have a "problem" (using his own words) with a plumber who says he doesn't know how to install a toilet with written instructions. I also told him that I could install the toilets myself in 2 to 3 hours. He responded, "Go ahead and install them yourself." This is exactly what I did. One I installed in an hour and a half, a second in a two hours, but I was not happy with the secutiy of the front footing and I reinstalled it in 45 minutes. I installed the sink/faucet comination in an hour, having the biggest problem with keepoing the J trap from leaking. My impression is that the experienced plumber who came to our home on a friday afternoon, didn't want to install the facilities. And didn't seem to like the fact that we had preped the installation as much as possible, hoping to reduce billed time. I believe his attitude and verbalizations were not professional. I doubt if this is representative of O'Neil Plumbing or (I hope) of this individual. We have used O'Neil for many line-blockages (prior to replacing the main sewer) and they were always clean, professional and efficient, although on the expensive side. If I had a major job that required a good deal of plumbing expertise, I would consider getting a bid from O'Neil after speaking directly to the owner or manager
Description of Work: I requested an estimate to install two new toilets and a facet sink combination. The older facilities had already been removed from the bathrooms and the new ones were unpacked from their boxes, ready to go.

The O'Neill employee who gave the estimate was honest. We asked for estimate to replace pipes inside house and pipes from house to city hook-up. He said the pipes to the city hook-up were sound and did not need replacing. One complaint is that the estimate did not include tax. The plumbers were very good. we gave them a "B" on professionalism because during the work, they bickered and loudly cursed at each other. Otherwise, they worked cleanly, quickly and consulted us where needed. The work took two full days.

While relandscaping my home, it was discovered that my incoming water line should be replaced. I called three top rated plumbers on Angies List and picked O'Neill based on cost, reputation, and approach. I received an onsite estimate one day after contact and the work was performed two days later. The landscapers built the trench to save money If I had not been relandscaping, a trenchless approach may have been needed. Frank from O'Neill came after the trench was built. Frank came out on time and very courteous through the process. The work appears to be good quality. I would use them again.
Description of Work: Incoming original waterline on my 100 year old home was replaced with 1 inch copper from the meter through the basement. The shutoff valve was replaced and the entry into the house was moved with the old one shut off. PVC apron was put on stress areas and a T was added outside to put in irrigation for the landscaping

I was told we would have service during the afternoon. I stayed at home to wait for the plumber. A call came around 3pm saying that they could not come as planned because a plumber got ill and went home. They said they could schedule us for the next day. I explained again that our house could not be used unless the drain was cleared. I asked if they had a back-up recommendation and was told they did not. I have no idea of whether they have only a single plumber or that only the one who got sick was willing to work today etc. I then began to call other firms and found one that is supposed to come early evening (writing this as I am waiting for the company). Clearly, staff can get ill, but I would expect they might know about that earlier and not agree to come ... or they could have a back-up for appts they make and cannot fullfill.
Description of Work: Called in the mid AM to have a drain cleared that kept us from using any water in the house (the clog backed up water via a floor drain). It was important to have it fixed by evening so we could use our home. This point was clearly made at the time of the appointment ... if they were not available we would have sought help elsewhere. Found this firm on Angie's list and had not used it before ... but it sounded good.

Could not have gone better. John arrived early, was extremely courteous, worked quickly with minimum interruptions for me (I work at home), and did a top quality job. John also pointed out a crummy plastic (boo hiss) shutoff valve under my kitchen sink and suggested that he replace it, which I was very happy to do. I also had a great experience talking with their scheduler, Kelly, and the owner, Tim. A quality outfit from top to bottom!

They stated they would be here within two hours. He did not try to sell me new toilet. He offered to replace different parts. He had a toilet on his truck that he eventually installed. If he had to leave he would return quickly. He was very polite and professional. He explained how I could shut off the water in the future. He also went over some things about the hot water heater. He let me know that no water had leaked through. He was very careful and thorough. He honored the AL discount and did not charge for the time he spent explaining things to me. He was just a very nice man. I would call them again if I have any problem at all. I have recommended to my sister. He was really kind and helpful.

This was a disaster for me as I had just moved in 2 days before. I called O'Neill Plumbing and they had someone out there in an hour, who got my flooding stopped and then repaired the element instead of trying to sell me a new water heater. The thermostats had been set too high and burned up the elements. He even called me later to make sure everything was okay. I will use them again whenever I need a plumber. They are professional and do not work on commission.

They were prompt, there first thing in the morning as promised. They performed the work quickly and made recommendation for other services. I did not use them for those services due to price and the fact that my flood repair general contractor did the work.
Description of Work: We experienced a flood due to a leak from a frozen hose bib. O'Neill had to remove our hot water heater to get to the frozen pipe and then repair it. They were prompt and quite professional. They recommended replacment of the hot water heater versus reinstallation due to it's age. The quote for this seemed quite high at $700. The also provided a quote for replacement of the house's water shut off valuve which turned out to be a bit high verses the contractor who ended up providing the service.

My husband had been called out after dinner, and some time later, I started to do the dishes- ran about a cup of soft food thru the garbage disposal- then suddenly realized the water was backing up in the adjacent sink. I poured what Drano we had left down the drains, and left that to work. It didn't! I knew my husband would be back late, and have to tackle the mess. He was not pleased I had used Drano! He was able to empty the sink, but not clear the blockage. He tried everything he could- determined the blockage was near the sink itself, rather than farther down the line, but his snake wouldn't go around the angle. We waited til morning to call O'Neills. I had checked Angie's Magazine, and also the website to find a plumber. I called O'Neill's because the reports were positive, and the prices quoted in reports seemed reasonable. And I had seen their trucks in my neighborhood! The response was immediate, a time for someone to show up set, and then revised to an earlier time, and John arrived mid-morning and worked 1/2 hour to clear out the drain pipes. All is working well now- and dirty dishes washed, the dish-washer running, and we are pleased. We used the 30% off Coupon Angiel's members get, and felt the price was extremely reasonable. We certainly will call O'Neill''s if we ever need a plumber again.
Description of Work: we had a kitchen sink totally backed up after using the garbage disposal (which we usually don't!) after dinner. We called O'Neill Plumbing the next morning, and a tentative appmt was made for that day. Later the scheduler called to say a man could come by much earlier. John arrived mid-morning, looked at the mess, tried one method to enter the curved and angled pipe, then brought in a major snake machine, which he ran thru about 30' of drainage pipe- and the water immediately drained out. He cleaned up his work, and gave us other information should this happen again. He was knowledgeable, pleasant, and worked competently and quickly. He was here 30 minutes.

AAA+++..If I can give that type of rating! Wonderful. I have never used them before but, am thrilled. With the monsoon rain we had last week my downspouts were clogged and not working properly. Gutter cleaning company came out and said one or two downspouts were likely clogged at ground level or below. I searched Angies list and found great reports for O'Neill plumbing so decided to give them a call. Got an appointment within 2 days. Nels inspected my downspouts and discovered that front porch downspout (gutter) has a narrowing at the bottom leading to drain pipe system. Likely was poor installation during construction of home. Something I will need to get fixed when I replace gutters and downspouts in future. Nels snaked all suspected drain pipes (3 total) and did a fantastic job. He also gave me wonderful tips on how to keep them clear in the future. Very professional, curteous and friendly. Couldn't be happier. Again they deserve an AAA+++ if there is such a rating.

Pete arrived promptly at 8:00am and started to work. He showed me all of the things that needed fixing, replacing, repair, etc. I now have hot water in the master bath, a shower that DOESN'T leak into the downstairs bath, and peace of mind knowing the work was done properly. I've always been skeptical of plumbing outfits, but O'Neill makes me rethink that skepticism. I'd recommend them to anyone. Good job and good people.

Project was done as quoted. They were able to replace the main bathroom tub/shower valve and the lines to the toilets without breaking into the walls, which was a real plus. There was minimal interruption to our daily activities except for a half day without water. They were very careful to not let the dogs out. Note: The labor rate for extra work would have been $160/hour.

I called Tim about repairing a hot water heater element. He responded within 15 minutes! He talked with me about the problem I was having with my landlord fixing our hot water heater and he gave me a rough estimate over the phone. He said that he would even squeeze me in the next day. Unfortunately my landlord decided to go with a much "cheaper" plumber and we will be without hot water for another 4 days (it has already by 5 days). I felt that Tim's estimate was a reasonable price and I am always willing to pay a little more for great customer service. Great customer service usually means you will get a quality job! I will definitely use O'Neill Plumbing in the future and I highly recommend him!
