O'Neill Plumbing

I called them first thing Monday morning after my washer drain overflowed. I'd had problems with it in the past and didn't have much confidence in the plumbers we'd used previously, so I called O'Neill based on their reputation, including Angie's List ratings. They had someone at the house within a few hours and, an hour later, the issue was resolved. O'Neill charges by the time spent on the job, whereas the plumber I'd used before charged by the task being performed. Specifically, they charged $150 or so to snake out the drain, but wanted to charge another $125 to run a camera out and take a look. O'Neill sent the camera down, looked at the drain, cleared the clog, and even gave me a DVD of the drain camera (to show at my next cocktail party, I suppose), then charged me for the one hour they spent, which also included answering a LOT of my questions. I suspect if I'd just let them do their job, it would have been even quicker. BOTTOM LINE: Line cleared and assessed for about $100 less than the other guys would have charged. My plumber, Nelson, was totally professional and really knew his stuff. And the rest of the O'Neill folks were great, too! Highly recommended!

I contacted ONeill because it was in the area, he was on the Angies list and I think they had worked on this house many years ago. I had another estimate from another outfit which seemed high to me. They needed a camera run through the line so they did that. Kevin, an employee came out and explained what they needed to do and an estimated cost. I said OK. A contract was emailed to me which defined the project, list of possible extra cost things like replacing part of the sidewalk which was damaged from a tree I had removed. etc. 50% was required to get started and that was all handled online. Project took about a week, they did replace 15' of sidewalk which cost extra. I was happy with the work they did.

They have done this before for me and are always friendly and professional. It took 1/2hr and his arrival was right on time so the whole process was over in short order. He made sure the pipes were tight and had no leaks, cleaned up everything to better than before. I will definitely use them for any plumbing problems in the future.

Our house is old. The basement is cramped with a low ceiling, with two flights of stairs to negotiate to get to the basement. A second guy was called to assist with the removal of the old water heater and placement of the new. Both maintained a friendly and positive attitude despite the cramped working conditions. Chose O'Neil plumbing because of high ratings from Angie's list. Our emergency situation, unfortunately, didn't allow time for shopping for the best price. All things considered, $1600 seems a bit high. I wish there was a third choice of "Maybe" for the question, "Would you use this provider in the future?". I would definitely _consider_ them for future work; time permitting, however, pricing will play a larger role in the final decision.

O'Neill Plumbing is wonderful! Our old plumber finally retired from service and we had yet to find a reliable, value-oriented, plumber. I read the other reviews on O'Neill and decided to give them a try. We had a nasty disposal leak under our kitchen sink. The company responded immediately and was able to send a plumber out that very same day. He was prompt, efficient, clean and professional. I would not hesitate to hire O'Neill again.

About two months ago I noticed a really bad smell coming from my basement, centered around the area of my sewer pump. Didn't think much of it at first as I thought it might just be something from a really heavy rain we had over the few days before. Went away on business trip and the smell didn't go away. Making matters worse, whenever I turned on the furnace, the smell was carried upstairs. Upon deciding to fix, rather than avoid the problem I called O'Neill in the morning and they were able to send someone out that afternoon. The plumber was able to diagnose the problem within the 1/2 hour "investigation" window and install a new sewage pump he had with him. Overall, I thought the plumber was helpful and able to explain to me exactly what he was doing and why. Haven't had any problems with the smell or plumbing since then, so seems like everything got fixed. If I had to nitpick at something the price was a bit high (though not outlandish for the type of work and equipment needed). I also asked them for a follow-up quote to repair the lid on the pump housing, but haven't heard anything since - not a huge deal as the smell is completely gone. Overall pretty happy with the work!

I had an irrigation pipe freeze and break in my yard. O'Neill was not available that night, but they came early the next day. They were very helpful and professional and answered all of my questions. The water pressure on the pipe is less than it used to be, which is why I am giving a B, but overall they did a very good job.

Peter came out once to give estimate and then followed up through completion today. All is working well. He was very professional! I would highly recommend O'Neill Plumbing!

They estimated that the job would take about 5 days and they were spot on, even though the time frame was during the holidays. The plumbers were quite personable and I enjoyed having them in my house. I am amazed at how smoothly the job went. I wouldn't think twice about hiring O'Neill Plumbing again.

They do very good work but are very expensive. They were fast and efficient. They got here on time and got it done on time. They saved us a lot of money compared to another plumber. They keep only the best plumbers. The only thing that bothered me was that they couldn't give me a ballpark price about how long the installation would take for the tank.

They were able to come quickly, diagnosed the issue and fixed it quickly and did not try to sell unnecessary services. I will use them again.

Taking my business elsewhere in future. Made a first appointment, but was 15' late. I called to say I was running late, and O'Neill told me the plumber could not wait at my house, and then sent me a bill for $95 for 30' of labor and the missed appointment. They had not explained this policy to me when I made the appointment or when I called to say I was running late. If I was to be charged for that 30' appointment, that plumber should have been waiting for me for the entire 30' of time I was being charged for -- especially since I phoned saying I could be there. I called to inquire about the charge, assuming it was an error. O'Neill waived the original missed appointment, but fee very ungraciously -- only doing so because I agreed to reschedule. Second appointment went off without a hitch. The plumber was excellent and thorough, but did nothing other than listen to the dripping sounds, run some water, and conclude there was no leak. The appointment did not exceed 30' and this time I was charged $105. Really? I do not recommend O'Neill.

The tech - Fernando was fantastic. Very professional and efficient. Cevin came later in the week to give us an estimate for additional preventative side sewer services. Prompt, informative and fairly priced.

I called early in the morning. Dispatcher was courteous and sent a plumber (Tyler) out before noon. Tyler was equally courteous and got the job done in less than 30 mins. Problem was hair buildup (expected - I need to get snaked every couple years). Tyler provided some tips how to help mediate the problem and things to think about fixing if I ever invest in a bathroom remodel. I appreciated the "plumber's advice" unmotivated by upselling additional work. Received an Angie's List discount of $30 off.

I am renting out my home and my tenants called to inform me that the toilet had a slow and weak flush and was clogging a few times a week. I called O'Neill Plumbing, gave them the number to my tenants, and they worked out a good time to have the work performed. I spoke with my tenants and they are extremely pleased with the work done by O'Neill Plumbing. My one complaint is that I specifically asked for and confirmed with the rep that I be called before any work was performed and that did not happen. I live out of the state, so I wanted to know how much the job would be and what work would be performed. I only found out the work was done when the bill arrived in my mailbox. Communication is vital, especially since I am not there to see the work or ask questions. On a good note, when I noticed that the $30-off coupon had not been applied, I called and they adjusted the bill right away. In the end, my tenants are happy, so I am happy.

They did a great job - replacing the broken pipe, fixing it carefully and thoroughly, and testing the pipe. They also answered some unrelated questions about my hot water heater. O'Neill may not be the cheapest, but they do the job right the first time. With this repair - like the others they've done for me, I'm confident they've done the job correctly.
