Ben showed up and got right to work. He completed 3 drain replacements in various stages of completion including a quick diagnosis of the problem with one previous DIY attempt. I appreciated that he took the time to educate me along the way and walked me through a few tests at the end to confirm it was done properly. I got the sense he has a real passion for quality. I only wish price was at least in part a function of the job challenge rather than pure hourly rate, as the final price tag felt a bit steep for something that's just barely outside my DIY comfort zone even though it was in line with their time and rate estimates. That said I would definitely call O'Neill again, especially for more challenging plumbing projects.

Wow. I have found my new go to plumbing company. In the past, every plumbing company I've ever used was so so. Two nights ago I went to take a shower, only to find my showerhead lying on the floor of the shower because the steel pipe that comes out of the wall was completely rusted through. My husband and I were worried that the tile wall or the drywall behind it might need to be torn out for the repair, and that it would be costly. I used Angie's List to find O'Neill Plumbing, which has an excellent rating and a coupon for 30% off. I called, and the very nice woman on the phone set up an appointment to come out the very next day. She was apologetic that they were busy that day, but I have more than one shower, so I was not concerned. Ben arrived right on time, and was able to remove the remainder of the rusted piece from the wall without damaging any existing tile at all. The repair was made in half an hour! He was courteous, professional, and efficient. I wish I could solve every home repair problem so easily. Thank you Ben and O'Neill Plumbing for making my day!

This was not a big job, but the faucet became inoperable right at Christmas, and too late to be fixed by the holiday. (Luckily, I was not entertaining.) But I was assured someone would come out first thing on the morning of Dec. 26th. I was able to purchase a new faucet at the eleventh hour on Christmas Eve and, as promised, the plumber was there bright and early on the 26th. He worked quickly, answering some questions I had about disposals and dishwashers, and did an excellent job.
Description of Work: Installed a faucet for the kitchen sink.

Our water heater literally went up in smoke on a Friday evening; we called Saturday morning and their repair person came within a couple of hours, bringing a replacement water heater with him. He removed the old water heater, then found some electrical work had to be done to make the new heater safe. He did that, making necessary cuts in the garage wall to complete the installation. Everything was in order and cleaned up in time for our family dinner that evening. The price was a bit high but well worth it.
Description of Work: Installed new water heater, modifying connected electrical as needed, also making necessary cuts in the wall as needed.

We have found our plumbing company - O'Neill's did a excellent job for us. Ben, the plumber who was sent to service our call, was the best! He was on time, in fact a little early, he was very thorough in explaining what he was going to do & how much time he estimated each task would take, was extremely professional & respectful of my home & time, and he had a nice personality, which is always a plus in my book! One of the things we needed done was to have straps installed around the hot water tank; the tank had to be unplugged in order to install the straps. Unfortunately Ben forgot to plug the tank back in; the next morning we had no hot water. I hopped on O'Neill's website to look up their hours of operation and a live chat bubble appeared - I figured I had nothing to lose so typed in what my problem was and to my surprise someone answered. They let me know they would call Ben immediately and I could expect to hear from him within 30 minutes; he called back in 20 minutes, apologizing profusely and made arrangements to come back to our home that evening (after hours, at no charge) to correct the problem. I was very impressed that his goal was to, first, fix the problem and second, to deliver high level, quality customer service.
Description of Work: We recently had our house inspected and had a list of small items that needed to be addressed before we put our house on the market.

After having difficulty getting other plumbers to return my calls it was refreshing to call and get a friendly voice on the other end of the line. I explained that our garbage disposal was broken and was interested in even purchasing a new one to be installed. On the day of the appointment I feel blessed that this was company we had went with. The technician arrived on time, told me it was good and only needed to be fixed. So he fixed it and even left tool to help if I needed it the future. Needless to say, we have a plumbing service that we can trust and will depend on in the future.

Tyler was very professional and worked very hard the entire time he was at our home. However, we ran into may unforeseen problems with each project which meant that several of the projects were left incomplete or unfinished. In all cases it was not their fault that the work could not be completed, but it did make the $900 price tag at the end a bit painful.

Each time we have called them out, they were able to come out the same day. One of the jobs was on a laundry sink. It was a large mess and ended up being tricky, but he solved the problem. I have dealt with the same technician twice, Steve. He is so good and nice. Steve is super thorough and the price has been reasonable each time. I was able to use a coupon and save twenty percent on the second job. Overall, I am very pleased with the company and I will use them again.

I had attempted in the past to install on my own with the help of a friend 3 low-flow flushing units. Flip up for more down for less water. They were crap. I didn't want to bother anymore and don't have the time. These guys were fast on time and did it right. That's really what we needed. The price was ok to i guess. Considering I knew I've needed to do this for a few months and hadn't done it...now it is done. Thanks guys.

We had selected O?Neill because of a good experience with them in the past, but we were very disappointed with this experience. We had scheduled an appointment to replace two toilets since we had some guests coming to visit from out of town. Someone from O?Neill called the day before the appointment (7/2/2014) and left a voicemail confirming the time window for 7/3. We waited at home from 2-4pm as planned, but nobody showed up. We called at 4:30pm but could not get anyone on the phone. We left a voicemail asking where they were, but nobody returned the call. It was unprofessional enough not to show up on time, but totally unacceptable to not even call back to explain what happened.

We were having backup problems in the downstairs bathroom. We called O'Neill's Monday morning & was told Wednesday was the first day they could come out. I had O'Neill's out the year before & thought it would be worth waiting since I thought they would be familiar with the problem. Nels was on time & determined after 2.5 hours he could not fix the problem from inside the house. He did call right away the dept that works on digging up sewer pipes. Cevin came out the next day & gave us an estimate for hand digging a 5 foot by 6 foot hole to explore & repair a section of the sewer pipe. The company showed up early Friday morning & did that section. Cevin was very good about being on site periodically to manage the project. After digging, repairing that portion of the pipe & snaking further down they realized they needed to go out another 7 feet. We at least had flow by Friday so they came back early Tuesday morning & finished the job. I was impressed with the care they took with the sod & cleanup because you cannot tell where they dug. The only thing I was disappointed with is they advertise a 5% senior discount. They don't say it doesn't apply to the big jobs.

Excellent - Ken told us quickly that the problem was not with the water pressure, but with the faucet itself. It had a replacement hose sprayer attachment which wasn't properly suited for the faucet. A new faucet did the trick and solved the problem. The whole call was handled in 30 minutes. We were only charged for a 1/2 hour of time, and no trip charge!

Cevin and his crew did a great job!!!!! The crew got to my house on time. They were happy the hole was dug properly and were prepared if it wasn't. They came and got my husband and I when they were ready to scope the drain so we could view it. While we were viewing the scope the crew was patient with us and made sure we understood what we were viewing. They explained the pipe did have wear on the bottom due to erosion but there were no biocks due to roots nor were there any bare places down to the dirt. They recommended sticking with just the repair of the verical pipe until we could budget for the complete fix. The job took about 2 hours. We will definitely hire O'neil Plumbing in the future and recommend them. ,
Description of Work: Over the weekend we had a plumber come out to fix a drain back-up in th house. The young man found the problem was due to the pipe outside of the house that went vertical into the ground connecting to the main sewer line. This pipe was full of roots and cracked. He said he would need to have his supervisor come out on Monday to a**** the dammage since most likely the entire sewer line would need replacing. I asked the young man to make sure to have the supervisor call me so I could be avalable to view the scope of the pipes which was included in the service we paid for . Since this sounded like it was going to be a major expence I called a couple of plumbers to give me a bids.for the next week Over the weekend, my husband dug about 3 ft down where the clay pipe was more stable and free of roots.. On Monday I was never able to connect with the original plumber until late in the afternoon. He informed me he never got the message that I wanted to be home so I could view the scope. The plumber explained he scoped the pipes and "they were completely shot" "the bottoms of the pipes were so bad there was bare spots down to the dirt in areas" He stated the entire line needed to be repaired, all the way to the street and most likely to the back of the house.. We would be looking at least $13,000 If we didn't replace the line we would be risking the pipe failing at the main sewer line under the road which would be a bigger mess and cost up ot $40,0000. The plumber was also very upset about the hole my husband dug and ranted about how someone could get killed in it. He explainted he would not have any of his men work in a hole that was not dug by their own crew. Cevin from O'Neill Plumbing came out after I received the above call from the initial plumber. Cevin was on time, very polite and arrived with a large printed diagram map of our sewer line. Cevin had no problem with the hole my husband had started digging down/around the vertical pipe. He explained that there was most likely another foot or so to go and it needed to be clear under the pipe as well. He explained how how wide it needed to be and how to make sure it was safe for his guys. Cevin explained he had no problem with us digging if we wanted to save a little money but if it wasn't done properly when the crew arrived they would need to charge to correct it and make it safe. Cevin took his time explaining how the plumbing and sewer line work and why the clay pipes typically need replacing. He explained that the vertical piece would definitly need to be replaced but he wouldn't know about the main line until they cut it in half which would have to be done to do the repair. He said if this was our first back up and there was not a lot of erosion or roots we would most likely be fine with just repairing the vertical piece and maybe running a cutter through the rest. He made it clear though, that eventually the main pipe would need repair but at least we could budget for it. He explained just because the pipe is warn down it doesn't mean it needs to be replaced immediately. He explained our options, and the pro's and con's of each option.

I read really great reviews for O'Neill Plumbing so I decided to have them replace the main water shut-off valve in my condo in spite of having slightly higher prices than their competitors. I was not informed that the drywall would be done on a different day than the valve replacement. Maybe most people know this but I felt I should have been informed of that upfront. The day after the valve was replaced a pin sized hole was squirting water into my garage. I called and O"Neill came back out within the hour and completely replaced the entire valve. The valve has worked perfectly ever since. At that time. I was told I would receive a call to have the drywall fixed but didn't hear back from anyone. I then received a bill. I called them and stated that I didn't mind waiting for the drywall but did not appreciate being sent the final bill when the work was not finished. After a few more days of waiting I sent an email to the gentleman that did my estimate and explained my dis-satisfaction with having no dry-wall and a bill for work that was not finished. He promptly returned my call, scheduled the drywall and deducted 30% from my bill. Everyone who I came in contact with at O'Neill was very pleasant to deal with and once I could speak to them things were resolved.

We found small leakage under bathroom sink. It was not flooding the bathroom but very annoying once we found that it was there. I searched Angie's list and tried Oneil plumbing which has raving reviews. The staff was very friendly and it was easy to schedule. First visit, a person showed up on time, examined the leakage, fasten the nuts and bolts under the sink, and came back. Charged labor for 30 minutes and I used coupon from Angie's list (~$100). Unfortunately, the problem was still there -- we found it only after using the sink a few more times after the service. Asked them to come over again. Second visit, again showed up on time. Fasten the top assay even further. No charge was made. Tested for about 5 minuets then returned. This didn't fix problem and as the first attempt, we found it only after using the sink a few more times after the service. Third visit, replaced the assembly. Tested for 15 minutes and returned. Charged 45 minute labors including the parts (~ $250). The third visit fixed the original leakage but left another leakage in the different part. At this point, I was very tired of calling them to come over again to fix it. So I purchased a plumber's tape and fixed it by myself. I was also angry about their charge because what it should have been is that they should have replaced the assembly in the first visit instead of visiting two more times and leave another huge bill -- let's not discuss the new leak introduced after replacing the assembly. I called them and complained. The staff was patient to listen and promised to call back the same day. No call on that day. I called again next day and the staff said that the issue had been escalated to the GM and I should expect a call from him that day. I got a call and I expressed the concern, and the first bill should have never existed. The GM confirmed that they would send a new bill which deduct the amount I paid for the first bill. The final bill I received was the second bill - the first bill BEFORE TAX. Got angry as they made me pay sales tax TWICE. I don't want to call them back and argue anymore. All I wanted was just be done with it. So I paid the final bill. Overall, this is the first time that I worked with a plumber. The people were friendly but the service and the aftermass did not quite live up to my expectation. I do understand the plumbing can be very tricky and nasty but the whole process was very painful. Do I recommend O'neil plumbing? Maybe... I don't want to have another plumbing issue in near future but when it happens, I'd look for other people to see whether O'neil plumbing is truly exceptional in the business (even though with these experience) or it is just hyped.

It went great.. I have used other plumbers in the past or namely my landlords have and they have been rude, late, left a huge mess, didn't explain things to me. I have my own house now and used O' Neil based on Angie's list reviews and coupon. The man - Scott I think, was on time,k was very friendly and professional, explained what happened and why. I had other questions about the sink, things the inspector had mentioned when we bought it and he explained them to me and told me they were not a big deal - mainly didn't try to panic me and sell me something - mainly a clean out, I think it is called, that is nice to have but not really needed and explained how to avoid water backing up as a workaround. I really, really appreciated that. I have found when workmen come and my husband is not home they seem to try to play to my fears. Not Scott. I also asked him to look at our hot water heater and he did at no extra charge. And recently, we had brown water coming out of all faucets. I panicked and called them after hours not realizing it is something that sometimes happens with city water - i grew up in the country with a well - and will eventually go away and if not, you call the city about it. The woman was very nice to me and didn't make me feel stupid and i appreciated that as well. they did a follow up call on Monday (this was late friday night hence the after hours hotline) just to make sure I didn't need someone to come out. I would highly recommend them. Yes they cost a little more than Roto Rooter and others i can't remember from the past, but the quality of work, the friendliness and caring are worth it. Our sink has been great and it's been a year!
Description of Work: A pipe under our kitchen sink basically fell apart so it was replaced along with some other joints under the sink.

Ben was great! He was prompt, worked quickly, friendly, and did a fantastic job. We have nothing but good things to say about him! We did have one small issue with how hours were billed, but when I called to ask about it, they were very courteous and helped us resolve the issue fairly. Overall - I'd want to make sure that we were on the same page with bililng the whole time through, but we'd be happy to work with O'Neill and especially Ben again!
Description of Work: Ben from O'Neill fitted a sewer cap under the house, and fixed a leaky shower.

We have a leak in an upstairs bathtub that we are having trouble finding the source as well as two other smaller issues. We called O'Neill to come out for an estimate. Steve arrived right on time. We did a walk through of our issues. He did a very nice job of explaining what the source of our bathtub issue could be as well as an issue we had going on under our kitchen sink with a Insta Hot and water chiller. Our third issue was a drippy outside faucet which we thought we had to replace. Steve showed me how to clean out a little valve on it. It's worked great ever since. We were quoted a price of $110 per half hour. We are still trying to locate our upstairs bathtub leak to save money instead of having a plumber trying to locate it at $110 per half hour, so I cannot review the quality of work.
Description of Work: Did an estimate for several plumbing issues.
