I contacted Alan and he came promptly to look at a lawn for a house we are renting. I told him that we just want minimal care. He gave us a quote for regular maintenance and the plan for the maintenance. As soon as I asked him to start, the lawn was mowed, trimmed and clean a few days later. They came one more time before the cold came the the lawn care would stop until Spring.

I originally contacted Alan from Healthy Lawns to inquire about moss removal and reseeding in the backyard of our newly purchased house a year ago. We have a sizable yard that was rather mossy despite getting decent sun. He came out to do the inspection and was very responsive and helpful. The name of the company really represents what he tries to do, which is to educate you about the best ways to keep the grass in your lawn healthy so that it can grow well and win against the weeds without the need for synthetic fertilizers or herbicides.
We decided to wait to have the work done until later in the year when the moss had dried out, but when that time came around, I had trouble reaching this company and felt they had forgotten about us. They finally came and did the job (raked out the moss and reseeded), but when I got the bill, it was for much more than the original estimate. I was upset, but when I called Alan, he explained that it just required more work than he expected, and he allowed me to pay in installments and cut the price about 10% or so to address my concerns. After the seed they had put down grew in, I began to feel the money had been well spent.
That's why I decided to hire them back this spring to do an aeration and natural fertilizer application. Alan was again very liberal with the advice and I had actually thought maybe I would just apply the stuff myself, but due to too many demands on my time, we decided to just hire Healthy Lawns again. They did an amazing job, and the grass in the backyard burst forth in luxurious lushness that was really a pleasure to see and feel. Alan also gave me advice on ways of combating my dandelion problem, and we have solved it in what I think is a pretty eco-friendly way.
I also decided to hire Healthy Lawns to mow and trim/edge my front and back lawns every two weeks, since the grass started growing so well that our push mower and lack of trimming equipment/skills weren't cutting it anymore. I think they charge rather a lot for this service ($75/cut), but they do a good job and are easy to communicate with. I enjoy working with an eco-friendly company and I like being able to turn to them for lawn care advice, which has always proved to be good advice thus far.

He is very quick and cleans up so well I only know he has been there by how short the grass is. If it needs cutting sooner in the week, I can call him and he has made adjustments for me.

We like that they're environmentally friendly. So far, we've been happy with them. It's a one man and a helper operation. They're fast and friendly.

Made an appointment for estimate. Alan showed up exactly on time. He was very courteous and professional. Price is very reasonable. I had no misgivings about giving him a try. Very happy with results. So far, so good,

The yard always looked nice after they left. The grass could have been cut shorter. It was always ready for another mow in about 4 days. We have now bought our own equipment and are able to cut it down to a shorter cut. It takes one person about 15 minutes to do the whole job. We have a small yard. We thought they over charged us. They provided the basic of services.

We have a really small lawn - our entire lot is and lt; 3000 sq ft, but it has a lot of weird patches of grass, and lots of bushes and trees and stairs and rocks making it just complicated enough to be a pain to keep tidy. But despite it being so small, lots of people were going to charge us $50 just to mow the grass, and our experiences with the cheaper craigslist type people were really spotty. We would have to call them to make sure they were coming, they wouldn't really do too great a job with the edging, etc. We hired Alan a year ago, and I think I talked to him maybe 3-4 times on the phone so far, usually to ask him to do something extra like weeding or something. I never had to go schedule a time to meet him - he just comes by every 2 weeks and mows, trims, edges and sweeps the leaves from our street. I asked him to stop coming by during the winter when the grass doesn't grow, and to come back in March. Then, one day in March, I come home and my yard is perfect again. Super low maintenance, super responsible, never have to worry about my yard again! And at $30 per visit, I don't feel guilty about not doing yardwork.

We were looking for someone to come and service our lawn. He was very responsive, and started our project within a week. We have a small yard, but it was really overgrown - we paid 55 or so for the first time, and then 30 or so for mowing our lawn after that. He seems very responsible.

The owner, Alan, came out to see our community's common and homeowner-maintained areas to be mowed and edged. He was very pleasant to talk with. Subsequent phone and email discussion led to a reasonable agreement for continuing lawn care for several homes. We have had no problems with damage or insufficient cleanup, and the grassy areas look great after each mowing.

He was quick and direct. He just did the job and that was fine. I will have him come back for the other services. He gave me a reasonable estimate for the other services.

Alan was recommended by Michael from Sunset since he didn't have time, and Alan specializes in lawn care; they share work, i.e. Michael recommends Alan for lawns. Alan came, did the work, agreed to the price Michael has used the first time, referred me back to Michael for any other yard work I might need, and set up a schedule for returning. He was very nice, did his work well, answered my questions, and was on his way. He was a little late, but did call after I had called and left a voice message. I am pleased and will continue to work with him.
