A quick process - limited but appropriate frames to choose from and helpful service. I use my glasses just for driving. I suspect I would have looked beyond Costco if they were frames for all-day wear. However, excellent prices, quick turn-around, and I'm pleased.

Had first exam and selected frames for new glasses. Each time I saw the optometrist, I told them that I needed a low profile progressive lens as I thought this would be included with my Rx. When I received the first pair, I tried wearing them for a week, but I had to return them. Had a second eye exam and this time they added a prism to my Rx. When I received this Rx, I tried wearing them again, but had to return them as the progression was still too high for me. When I returned to have my 3rd eye exam, it was only then that I was informed that Costco ONLY provides ONE type of progressive lens and if you can't wear those, they cannot order what you need. They popped out my lenses and gave me a refund for them and I came away with only the frames. I eventually returned the frames also. What is funny, is that several years ago I was able to get the low profile progressive lens from Costco, so they must have changed their practice of what lenses they provide. The optometrists do not have the knowledge of what type of lenses Costco provides, as if they had, I would not have had to return so many times. Only the opticians at Costco have the knowledge of types of lenses that are provided. I feel that Costco should let customers know that they are limited in the types of lenses that they can provide to their customers. If you need something out of the ordinary, you won't be able to get it at a Costco Optical Department.

Waited very short time. Eyeglass rep reviewed my prescription and looked at my old frames. I wanted to use frames from previous pair of glasses. She thought they might be rejected as too old with an increased chance they would crack  We talked about it, and she helped me to clean them to make them as presentable as possible but was honest in saying, I might get a call that I needed to purchase new frames. I decided to take a chance, and it worked. I did not need to buy new frames this time.
Eyeglasses as well as prescription sunglasses were completed in timely manner and delivered as promised.
This is the 3rd time I have used Costco Optical, and I have no plans to change.

When the online custom service form didn't work (you fill it out only to get an error message) after 3 times... I located the email of the CEO of Costco. I typed up a formal complaint to the Optometrist, briefly explained my online issue to the CEO.
Within 24 hours, I had a call from the 'manager' of the optical department. I had to call back several times and the manager was unavailable, at lunch or working on the floor. He got back to me about 8:00 PM and though told me he would do whatever I wanted, in order to make me happy... the offerings were what you would expect... return and refund or start over.
I would have to bring the glasses in (even though that would leave me with no glasses) in order to get a refund. I needed my money back (now working with Costco since the beginning of February), in order to order another pair elsewhere. I now had the additional expense of the doctor). The manager agreed to come in on his day off the following day. There were no other customers there yet It took at least 20 minutes to process a refund. Luckily I had not yet donated my glasses from before this whole fiasco so after 4 trips to Tukwila.... and months (waiting to see my doctor took awhile and 2 appointments) I got my money back but as I said, had to pay for my doctor in case there was something very wrong with my eyes... only to find out it was a minor prescription change!
The optometrist was very nice, thorough and I liked her. But, she got it wrong... twice. I first expected I had failed the eye exam rather than the other way round.
My new prescription being filled locally costs 50% more for one pair. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR when it comes to getting your eye care needs from Costco.

As usual, the exam went very well and was performed in an efficient manner. But that doesn't mean that I wasn't given the opportunity to ask questions. I felt the optition/optometrist was very thorough, and the exam included checks for glaucoma and other conditions using state-of-the-art equipment. I have used Costco Optical for many years now and have always been pleased with the pricing, the quality, and the service. I was also given a number of samples to try out before I make my final selection. I gave them insurance forms to fill out and return to me, and this was done in a timely manner.

They are convenient and their prices are great. I have had several different people wait on me and they are all great. They will give you lenses to try and if you lose one or if they are messed up they will give you a free lens. Their support is really good and pickup is easy. They suggested a new lens for me where one is for seeing to read and the other is for distance, but they let me try it without charging me. They worked out really well for me.

I go to Costco because they are cheaper than almost anywhere else you can go. I would say that they are about half of what you would pay at an optometrists office. They are quick and convenient. I can even go to them and have them adjusted or repaired. The staff is I go to Costco because they are cheaper than almost anywhere else you can go. The optical dept at Costco is great. They helped me choose frames and really went into the pros and cons of some different styles. Also the price is great. They offer free adjustments anytime too.
