Babbs Weissman was our agent. My first time home buyer aunt found a 1 BR condo in Seattle. I was cosigning and we brought the transaction to Babbs to help with the process. The day we closed on this condo, Babbs sent a degrading email about my aunt to the title company. ?Jesus?She is mad because despite the fact that things have been explained to her over and over, she still doesn't understand.? You see..there had been a lot of trouble with the title company as well and they were unable to finalize the closure on time due to not gathering paperwork from the seller?s bank in a timely manner. My aunt expected to receive keys the morning of the new closing date as was promised by the title company. There was a delay in filing and the title company told her she would get her keys first thing the next morning before the filing was recorded. However now it was noon on closing day and the recording numbers were in and our Babbs refused to come over to give my aunt the keys before 5pm. Babbs never told us she would be unavailable to deliver the keys previously so this was a surprise right when we officially closed. I called Babbs office that afternoon, gave my name and asked if another realtor in the office could perhaps come open the box and give us the keys to which I was told we had to speak to Babbs. I called the seller?s agent, pleaded for him to come open the key box to which he informed me he had given the code to a key box to Babbs to give to us so my aunt could have let herself in hours before.So finally we close?seller?s agent is heading over to open the box and give my aunt the key. It?s finally over right? And then Babbs just can?t help but destroy the experience for my aunt even more by sending her this email while she is waiting for the key. ?You have to stop calling my office and being angry with everyone. I have done everything I could to get you those keys today. Mike will be there at 1 and will give you the keys. Your behavior has been outrageous.? Mind you my aunt never called her office. I did once and left my name. I also didn?t yell at anyone. Babbs lost sight of her role completely. Instead of helping my aunt through the process, she insulted her repeatedly saying that my aunt wasn?t understanding the process and taking a sarcastic tone with her throughout. ?Remember I told you? this and that all the time. I also was cosigning for my aunt which Babbs should have known as she had been in contact with the lender and attended the signing?but she didn?t make sure I signed the purchase and sale so on the new closing day I had to drive down to the title company again to initial all the pages. Basically Babbs was not a good agent, and when she made mistakes she blamed others and completely lost sight of her role to help the process happen smoothly and be in our corner. What type of a person sends a nasty email to their client when they never need to see them again on the day they close on their first place? I am outraged!
