The problem turned out to be our igniter, which was replaced for a total bill of less than $150. The technician then gave us some very useful, no-nonsense advice on various issues about our home, such as how to turn off the water at the street since we have no water shut off valve in our house.
Description of Work: Our older gas oven was emitting a "gas smell" when in use.

Tom was very responsive and arrived on time. I had a triple whammy of appliances that went on the fritz (Refrigerator, dishwasher and oven). All three were Whirlpool appliances that were 13 years old. He assessed the problem with all three appliances quickly. Luckily the fridge just needed a frost part replaced. Dishwasher wasn't feasible to repair. Oven was a minor issue that didn't require any part replacement. Overall, I was very pleased. Tom gave me a lot of good advice and education on how to keep my appliances running efficiently and even volunteered information on gas and water safety and what to look for when purchasing a new dishwasher. Definitely A+

I cannot reccommend All Tech more highly. Tom was AMAZING. He came same day, fixed our dryer fuse promptly, and then proceeded to give us tips and helpful hints and proper ways to use our washer/dryer. THEN he cleaned our outside dryer vent. THEN he gave us help with our microwave. And THEN the dishwasher! He is fabulous! So patient, so funny, so thoughtful, so smart. And all so ridiculously reasonably priced. It's a family company (brothers) and we will never use another appliance repair company. Call them NOW! You will be so happy.

We called All Tech Appliance and left a message. The technician, Tom called us back in a short amount of time. We explained the problem and he thought we had a motor that was going bad. He suggested a simple test that I performed and verified that it was indeed a bad motor. He ordered the part and was able to install the new motor after only a couple of days wait (luckily he explained how we could still use the dryer in the mean time). Total cost was about $300, which was way cheaper than a comparable new dryer, and a lot less hassle than going out and buying a new one). While he was over replacing the dryer motor, I asked him about water dripping into the washer. He explained that it needed a new inlet valve (which he would have to order), but since he had come out once already, would waive the service call fee (saving us about $65). Total cost of the valve replacement was $100. Tom's work was well done and didn't take a lot of time. He reasonable estimated how long it would take to order and get the parts, and completed the work on time. He also gave us some good advice on extending the life of our appliances. Overall, this was a great service experience!

Fixed top-loading Maytag Centennial Washer in minutes. But more than that, he shored up prior a prior wire repair and took much time explaining how much soap to use (given the softness of the water here), proper loading techniques, etc. He took a great deal of his time explaining good preventative measures to avoid future problems with both the washer and the dryer. Great guy, came out promptly (next day, on a Saturday), and LOVES appliances...his knowledge and enthusiasm shows. He knows his stuff. I am not a person who usually follows-up and writes reviews, but he was so good I actually took the time to write a review. Love supporting independent, local guys and this guy is worth the call.

I was concerned that our 8 year old washer and drier were on their last legs--I'd heard these newer ones don't last as the old ones did. All Tech was able to send out a repair man in just a couple of days at a time that I could do. I have a home office, had a client coming at 10:00 am, and was concerned that I could be available. The person on the phone assured me that the service man would be there as close to 9:00 as possible. Jared arrived at 8:35! It was great because I didn't have to feel the time pressure and could listen to what he had to say. He fixed the drier in no time and noticed that the hoses on the washer were old and could have burst. The washer and drier had not been leveled properly by the installers and he fixed that too--despite our 1910 basement being about as un-level as a floor could be! He gave me a lot of instruction about how to care for both appliances to extend their lives. Jared is friendly, professional, and extremely well versed in appliance care. I was amazed and impressed with his knowledge. I feel much better about our washer and drier. I couldn't have been more pleased with his work. A+++++

On a Saturday morning, our dryer was not operating. Many of the companies I checked on Angie's list were closed on a Saturday or were not close by our residence. We called Tom. He arrived promptly at the time he said he would. He quickly diagnosed the problem and repaired the switch on the clothes dryer. He gave tips on saving energy and having different appliances clean more efficiently.

Tom was fantastic! First of all, he doesn't even service my area - he could have just said so and hung up, but instead he generously spent time during his busy work day talking to me about what the problem was, giving me advice on how to maintain a modern high-efficiency washer (I never would have thought to use a surge protector, but of course that makes sense with the computerized parts), discussed whether it was worth spending money to fix or not based on what was going on, etc. He was courteous and very knowledgeable - I'm very impressed and highly recommend him.

We called All-Tech last Saturday because the refrigerator part of our Kenmore stopped cooling (the freezer was still working). The gentleman on the phone helped us troubleshoot the problem (the cold air from the freezer was not cooling the refrigerator because ice had frozen the access). He suggested we turn off the appliance, empty the freezer into a cooler, and open it up with a fan blowing in an effort to thaw the ice (much like thawing a frozen pipe). It was brilliant and took about 5 hours until all was running smoothly again. We'd call him again in a heartbeat!

We had a dryer that was putting out heat, but the drum wasn't spinning. Tom changed the belt and rollers in lighting fast time. He also diagnosed a problem with the dryer vent and told us how to fix it. He also offered suggestions to reduce energy consumption and lengthen the life of both our laundry machines by not overloading, using less soap and getting rid of dryer sheets. He even gave suggestions about my dishwasher. I would definitely have him back. He is very knowledgeable. I even lucked out and got next day service on a Saturday! Other companies never even got back to me after I left messages. A++ All Tech Appliance Service!

Called, and without even looking at the dishwasher, they said it wasn't worth it. The dishwasher turns on. Motor spins. Water isn't flowing freely though to actually wash. I would have paid service call. If nothing could have been done, i would have understood. But they refused even to look at the unit. What if the problem was trivial? I'm not a repairman; it could be super simple. If it's not they could have looked at it explained why it wasn't, I would have paid the service fee and everything would have been fine. Instead, they assumed over the phone /without looking at it/ it wasn't fixable and refused service. I'll take my business elsewhere.

We own a rental house, so we can't have our renters unable to do laundry. The renter called and said that his washer would fill, but then drain right out. I googled the problem and assumed that it was an airgap issue which would be a super simple fix, but I was unable to go do it myself. Called All Tech and they came right out and fixed it...great communication, timeliness...they are going on our and quot;go-toand quot; list for our rental properties....as well as our home! Thanks so much!!

It went perfectly - polite, on time, knew exactly what to do. See details above. Highly recommend - would definitely use him again. Thank you!
Description of Work: The gentleman responded first thing this morning to a message I left last night, when I noticed our dishwasher quit cleaning, especially items on the top rack. He asked me appropriate questions, made some suggestions, then tried to locate a filter which I could see was dirty (I had removed and flushed the lower rotating arm, but this did not help, the top arm still was not spinning). We talked again later, and he informed me the part I guessed was not available until Monday, and also very expensive. He and I agreed he should take a look, he showed up exactly on time, and after a good cleaning, the dishwasher now works well at a cost of only $80.

I had an apartment-sized washer that had given up the ghost. I talked to All Tech over the phone and he had me inspect a couple of things and determined that the repairs would cost almost as much as a new unit. He could have come out and charged me a hefty fee but he didn't. To be sure, next time I have an appliance issue I'll hire this guy.

After repairing the dryer (he took the pencil that we got stuck on the bottom of the dryer hose), since he was there I asked him if he could move the handles on my refrigerator to the other side. Not only did Tom do this expertly, he always gives information on how to care for your appliance to make it last longer. This time among other things, I learned about cleaning the pan under the refrigerator (you need to do this at least once a year). I've had Tom fix several appliances over the years and if something can't be repaired, he will be up front with you over the phone. He is a rare breed; he owns the business, does the work himself, cares about his customers, and has pride in his work. I highly recommend him.

On a Saturday morning i realized that the refrigerated section of my refrigerator was not getting cold even though the freezer section was staying frozen. i called All Tech Appliance Service and Tom was here in 20 minutes. He confirmed that the circulating fan was dead, which is what i had been told, and within 45 minutes he had replaced the fan and everything was working great. Fantastic service and very professional attention to the problem.

The man I called and spoke with was actually able to help me diagnose a worn out clutch over the phone, and let me know that what it would cost to have someone come out and repair it would cost just a little less than what the machine was worth. He totally could have come out and charged me to fix it, but he was honest about the value in doing so. He answered all my questions, and even gave me tips on how to avoid this happening again. Awesome experience! I wound up buying the replacement part at cost and doing the repair myself with the help of a couple youtube videos for $40.
