Properly diagnosed and repaired a botched job by another refrigerator repair company (AC leak stop that plugged capillary tube) for a GE monogram. Installed new heat exchanger, capillary tube, filter. Communication was a bit rough, as only available by phone, and not all calls were returned. Otherwise glad they were able to properly solve the problem. Would hire again.

Tom came out several times, but was unable to repair the refrigerator. He tried very very hard but was unable to repair the hole in the refrigerant pipe. He did not charge for the extra trips.

The technician came with the parts, based on my description of the problem. Took less than an hour. Since he still had time on the clock, he also cleaned my refrigerator coils.

*** WARNING *** Do NOT hire these people! We hired them because our LG oven was not working properly. After 4 different parts were ordered and 3 parts installed (one of the parts they ordered didn’t actually fit our oven), they still FAILED to fix the problem! There was no troubleshooting or diagnostic evaluation of the oven, Tom just began ordering and installing electronic parts, hoping they would fix the problem. At one point, he offered us a money back “guarantee” that a certain part would fix it (it did NOT - nor did we get our money back). We constantly had to contact him for status of any parts order and TWICE he claimed that “phone problems” prevented him from getting back to us! Tom was not only unprofessional and incompetent, but downright vulgar and rude when we questioned him (after almost 5 months) about the situation. We finally contacted someone else within A1 Accomplished Repair to express our disappointment and frustration, but they were as unresponsive and unprofessional as he was, blaming the problem on LG. Bottom line: After 5 months and over $400, we fixed the oven ourselves by replacing a $55 non-electronic part that Tom failed to identify as the problem in the first place. If you want A1 quality work, DON’T contact them. If you want anything Accomplished, DON’T use them. And if you want your LG Appliance Repaired, DON’T hire these guys! RESPONSE TO SERVICE PROVIDER'S RESPONSE 9/26/219: This is a response to Tom's rambling argument about our complaint. We DID NOT heat up stones in our oven! We used a pizza stone to bake pizza at 550 degrees F, which is what LG says is an acceptable temperature. His comments are NOT valid and I wish that I could properly write another review for this company. Angies' List should allow us to rebut his response to our complaint.
Response from A1 accomplished appliance repair
"i was told that they could not use the bake function as it would only preheat to half the temprature. This is an LG and 99% of the time constraints were waiting on parts. I went with the cheapest possible repair first which was the temp sensor. In my 12 years anytime the bake function is not working properly the first thing i check is for any heat at all which tells me if the element is out. This oven in the bake selection was still getting hot just not as hot as it should. From all past experience i assumed the element must be working as they are like a light bulb they either work or they dont. sense it wasnt the heat probe sensor that tells the cpu the actual temp the only thing left was the CPU. This unit has 2 cpus so like any person would do because how expensive each CPU is i ordered the main board first as there is a 50/50 shot that it would be the only computer board needed for the repair. Their is no way to toubleshoot or diagnose which board is bad unless there is physical damage or a hot spot which there wasnt. At this point i had charged $75 service call and $200 plus or minus $40 for the electronic control board. It took almost a month for the part to arrive. After installing it the oven made a huge improvement. Now it would get to 450 degrees instead of just 250 but still not getting to its full temp in a timely mannar. So i told them that id buy the 2nd CPU board and install it for free and if it worked they would just pay me for the part and the labor would be free. It took a month to recive because its LG and parts are not as easy to find in stock as usa brand ovens. After i installed it no improvement. At this point i relized something was really strange as there are no other parts to the bake system. After doing so research i found that this oven was built with a brand new technology only used in comercail units not domestic until just recently. Its called bro bake and i had not seen this nore had my father and we have 70 years experience between us. This Pro bake version has no bake element only an element in the wall that uses a fan to move the heat. The customer didn't even know that this oven was a pro bake style not a traditional bake model. They told me it was hard to find anyone to even look at it let alone fix it. also in my 12 years its the first time i had seen this style oven. i was honest and told them it was new to me and i donated over 14 hours and 6 trips just to figure it out and get to the bottom of it sense the frist few trips i was led to believe it was a standard oven. After finally figuring out what it needed and spending a 6 hour night taking it appart they called and asked if someone else could come repair it because i couldnt come out the very next day. This was very disrespectful to me after i had donated so much of my time to getting to the bottom of this new technology that they didnt even know they had thus giving me the impression i was dealing with a traditional oven i didnt go back. obviously they are calling asking for someone else so i say good luck. They paid 75$ for a service call $200 for 1 board and i paid for the 2nd board. which it likely needed both boards along with the new wall bake element. He mentioned that he would heat up hot stones and put them in the bottom of the oven to bake pizza which this oven is not designed to do. 550 degree hot stones in an oven thats not even turned on is gonna screw with calibration and who knows what else. I didnt give up i came back many times, donated over 14 hours and paid for 1 of the 2 parts. LG and Samsung are brand new to the appliance world and hardly anyone works on them, parts are not easy to get and they have very poor reviews. I told them from the start that i am not 100% familair with this LG oven and no one is. I learned a lot on this job and im sorry it wasnt as smooth as it could have gone. i didnt charge harldy anything asside from 1 part and $75 labor. lesson learned."

I just had my dryer and oven repaired by Tom. He was extremely professional and punctual and really knew his stuff. He spoke to me over the phone prior to coming out, and based on our conversation was able to make sure he had the parts with him that he might need. Both my dryer (belt replacement) and oven (new igniter) were repaired today quickly and efficiently. Super nice guy, and yes, I would hire him again. Thanks Tom!

Excellent all three times. On the oven element repair he had to reschedule due to a hand injury and brought a helper because the hand was still injured and he needed two hands to complete the work.

If Tom asks for an upfront deposit for future services, I would be extremely cautious. If anything goes differently than expected, it will be very difficult to get your money back. Thomas Champoux came for a diagnosis (cost of $74 which seemed reasonable), took off the gas stove top, examined underneath, and determined a part (spark module) needed replacing. He was polite, quoted a total price of $332.50, and took a $120 check deposit (included $74 diagnosis) for future work. However, the next morning, the stove worked again, so the part was not broken and a new part was not needed. Through his jiggling it around or my cleaning the burners with a toothbrush, it was fixed. I called Tom, less than 12 hours after his visit, and canceled the part which had not been shipped. He said he'd refund our $46 for the part deposit. However, it's now been over 2 months, and no refund. When I texted him about the $46, he always had a new excuse (had to wait for credit on the part that was never shipped, his phone broke so he lost our address, etc). It's important to trust your contractor. I question Tom's integrity as he never refunded our deposit for a part that was not provided. As a result, I would not recommend him.

"I think if you understood that this part for your stove top was a factory order. Myoarts house didnt stock it. Once its ordered they will not refund the money. I drove almost an hour each way in friday traffic. I was given the go ahead to order the part so i did. regaurdless of shipping i still had to eat the money i paid out of pocket for the part it appeared you needed. once in a while some good fortune comes and magicly you're appliace starts working again. So not only was i out the 2 hours driving, and the $120 part, but know you want me to take more time to drive or mail you a check. I did offer to pay you via paypal and was ready to do so on the spot however you didnt want to do that. Then you threatened to take me to small claims court. Im sorry but if your stove top would have started working again before i left because of what i did youd be out $120 anyway. so this was the best possible scenario for you and instead of thanking me you want to take me to court. i think my integrity is amazing and my reviews clearly show that. i could send you a bill for the cost of the part i ordered and couldnt refund but i didnt. sorry you had a bad experience."

They were great. Called at 12:45 on a Friday and they were at the house at 2:30 the same day. Found the issue quickly, got the parts, and I was up in running by 6 pm - this includes them having to drive down to Tukwila from Seattle to get the parts. They were nice, professional, and funny. I would bring them back for other work if the need arises.

Thomas responded to my Angie's List request promptly and was able to correctly diagnose the problem and give me an estimate over the phone. He was able to come by within the hour that same day, arrived as noted and had the refrigerator running again within an hour. He replaced the starter for the compressor and also recharged the refrigerant for the quoted price.

Had a very good experience with Tom repairing our GE washer. I used the Angie's List match search and found A 1 Accomplished Appliance Repair when our regular person was not available. I was able to reach Tom right away. After describing the issue to him, he then provided me with several options for time windows to come and check out the issue which included the same afternoon. I was glad as it was Friday and I didn't want to have to deal with an non-working washer over the weekend. When he was running behind, he sent me a text early enough with an estimated arrival time so that I could run other errands. When he arrived, he was professional and quickly assessed the issue. Luckily, it was not too complicated and he had the part on his rig. Very happy with the service and repair to have it taken care of the same day. I would recommend and call again in the future.

We had this crew come out last September to fix our fridge and it needed repair again this month of June 2018. They came out again and gave us an estimate and then said they would come out the next day from 3-5pm. The tech was still not at our place by 5pm, so I called them and they said they were running very late and traffic was bad. They should have called us and informed us ahead of time because one of us had to leave work early for this repair.

"I am very sorry again for the inconvenience that day. Most companies all have a 4 hour window arrival time. We like to maintain a 2 hour window because people like to plan things it’s more convenient. However the call should have been made well ahead of time. Thanks for the feed back apologies."

They found the cause of the problem with the refrigerator and fixed it. The ice maker was hopeless, so ordered another one as well as another piece for the refrigerator meat/cheese tray and installed them as well. Gave a warranty for their work too.

I highly recommend A1 and Sons Appliance Repair (they seem to change names frequently). Our refrigerator failed on the Friday of the Memorial Day Weekend. I found A1 on Angie’s List and Jordan arrived around 6 PM the same day; and quickly determined that two leaks in a copper pipe allowed all the Freon to escape. He gave me an estimate of $400 which seemed very reasonable given it was a holiday weekend. Without going into a lot of detail, Jordan spent I would estimate 15 hours working the problem over the weekend. When he finished repairing the pipe and recharging the system, the total bill including tax was $485. Now that’s integrity.

Our dryer stopped working. The young man was here for nearly 3 hours. Had the dryer totally apart. Could not identify the source of the problem but kept digging until he discovered that there was a second breaker box in a different place than the main circuit breaker. I am pretty sure that anyone else would have stopped looking after an hour. I am so impressed with this young man. Kudos to this family owned business. I would not hesitate to recommend this company for service.
