Description of Work: I spoke with "Maria" the owner and emailed her before the appt. about my needs. A couple in their 20's/30's from the Ukraine came to clean on time. Communication & lack of followup by owner (Maria) were my main issues. Communication is a issue because I have ridiculously sensitive travertine tile in my bathroom & only certain products can be used in my house. Also I need things damp wiped for my asthma ( provided a large bin of clean, damp rags for dusting). Also some furniture must be pushed around (all on flannel sliders) to get dust and mostly one person can do it. The woman's English seemed ok; the man knew little, but due to short duration of the service (2 people working 2 hours) and the complexity of my requirements, I'm not sure things were understood --although the workers seemed conscientious & educated. They cleaned upstairs/ one floor --2 bathrooms; 1 office/2 smaller bedrooms & spent a long time carefully cleaning my shower, an ran out of time. I had an important phone call & couldn't supervise. I went up to check in and explain; not sure it was getting across. To me, the major shortcoming in service was that Maria never called me back to see how things went and that is why I didn't call them back for another try. Likely they saw me as a "hassle" client. I was looking for a regular service and used the "special price" as an opportunity to find a cleaner as my regular cleaner has moved. I've had several cleaners longterm 7 - 10 years. I pay the high end of wages to individuals ($30 per hour) so I'm not cheap or miserly but I do need cleaning done a certain way or home finishings get wrecked. I am (not obviously) disabled and can't lift. They had brought their own vacumn & cleaners but I had them use my specialized one for wood floors/good rugs. So it was just hard to tell.

Description of Work: They arrived at 9:15 for our 9:30 appointment time. The crew of two did not speak or understand English. They worked hard for at least 11 hours but seemed to be going over some places two to three times but then missed a number of places. I will not accept crews that do not have an inkling of English. When ever I would ask about or try to call attention to something, they would reply "ok" "ok" which were usually inappropriate responses. They did do an excellent job on the windows they did work on, but because of the slowness of the work, we had them leave before they finished the last three windows originally included. (It was almost 9:00 pm and dark out-not good conditions for cleaning windows.)

Description of Work: I was moving in to a house and realized that many areas of the home needed to be cleaned before I could use them. I called for a same day housecleaning appointment and two wonderful hard-working individuals came out and made my new home much more comfortable while we were un-packing boxes.

Description of Work: The two people that arrived had trouble finding the house. They were very polite and we felt comfortable having them stay in the house while we were gone. It was an hourly job. Unfortunately they spent less time than I expected and did not complete everything I had requested. We had asked for a move out cleaning and had anticipated everything being done. The floors, the thing I wanted done most, was incomplete. My husband had done some drilling in the bathroom leaving plaster behind the toilet. That was still present when we arrived home. There were other things like that as well. I think they worked hard but simply didn't finish the job. When I let Maria know this she gave of $20 off but refused to acknowledge that work was incomplete. She was willing to send them again for more $ the next day. We decided we would rather clean the floor ourselves than have a repeat experience.

Description of Work: Maria's team did an excellent job. Our 2bd, 2bth 1000 sq ft condo was a disaster after not cleaning it for 4 months. There was so much dust and the bathrooms were filthy. Maria's team came in and cleaned our place spotless including cleaning out the fridge, steam cleaning the carpets, and washing our balcony windows! We ordered the deep clean the first time (described above) and then signed up for regular monthly cleanings!

Description of Work: I want floors to be vacuumed or damp mopped throughout our 1750 sq ft townhouse, plus 2-1/2 bathrooms cleaned thoroughly, I can dust and do the walls, etc, When I called I talked to Maria who said someone would come inhouse to give me an estimate. I liked this idea because in the past I have been given a quote over the phone which I think is hokey, The person who came to give me the estimate was of some Baltic descent with a thick accent and was rather intimidating - high heels (on my wood floors - yikes) leather and smelling of smoke. She quoted me a price and when I mentioned Angie's list special she requested a copy of the ad. We set an agreeable date, Maria called to let me know that I would be allowed a first timer discount and the price afterwards would be $60 as agreed, plus the third time free,. One person came and was on time - actually a little early. The English was not so good, but she seemed very nice, I had to request twice that she let me know her name because she didn't understand me. She went right to work and did a very good job, I called Maria a couple of times to clarify a couple of issues - I wasn't sure what the "deep cleaning" phrase meant and also what the procedure was for cleaning the bathroom floors, She does the floors in the bathrooms by hand - wow! I will be using this service at least once a month. First time was very good and I was assured this person would be my "regular" cleaner which I like.

Description of Work: my wife and i are having a new baby. i thought i would hire a cleaner to deep clean our house before the big day. i called a few places for quotes. they range from 220-over 400 for a deep cleaning.maria called me back after i had my research done she quoted me 220. i really wanted it done fast baby was coming in 1 week and i needed it done by the weekend. i asked what types of cleaning she did for 220. it was exactly the same as quoted by two others @ 400. but she prefers mon-fri. i expained my dilema and offered to pay more for weekend service. we agreed on 300. i was extremely impressed with the job. they were prompt, professional, and very thorough. they did a great job! thanks maria

Description of Work: This was my first experience with Maria Cleaning Service. The worker she sent was energetic, pleasant to work with, understood English well, and knew what she was supposed to be doing. I was pleased with work. She changed the sheets, she feather dusted blinds and furniture, she cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen properly, and vacuumed all the carpets and steps. She applied Bona to my wooden kitchen and entry floors, and swept my laundry room, after cleaning off the top of the washer and the dryer. I am pleased with Tanya. I requested the same woman be assigned as my regular alternate-week housekeeper. The work was repeated by Tanya on 2/1/2013. Maria is very prompt in responding to phone calls related to services. Having used cleaning services before, I know that the quality of the work can vary greatly from one housekeeper to another, no matter who the firm is. An issue that I will need to work on is explaining to Tanya about the refuse collections in my area. Someone who does not live in our collection area may have difficulty understanding the difference between garbage or trash that goes into the "garbage" container for land fill-- and the food scraps and biodegradables that go into the "yard waste" container to be composted. It would behoove all cleaning service people to educate their workers on this important ecological fact.

Description of Work: This company leaves their garbage advertisements on my driveway once or twice a year. I've asked them to stop and they haven't. The ad is a plastic bag with rocks with a card inside saying how much they treasure their clients. I cannot imagine anyone wanting a cleaning service that leaves garbage on their driveway.

Description of Work: Two workers arrived on time and with their own supplies. They worked 4 hours, which is what I asked for. They were able to clean the bathroom, living room, dining room and kitchen. I was very pleased with their work. The reason I gave a B for price is that "House Cleaning" is expensive-with any one. So it's not some thing I'd hire done often. But we were expecting guests and it worked out perfectly.
