Description of Work: I needed a housecleaner for an important family reunion and continuing service. I asked them several weeks ago. They missed the first estimate because the estimator had car trouble. Now, days before I need them, they have canceled and left me in the lurch. They said they don't have my phone number and couldn't find parking. Even though we have parking in the garage and could have let them in. Clearly not professional.

Description of Work: We used Maria House Cleaning. She did a full after construction cleaning. Wiping of the cabinets, vacuuming carpets, dusting, cleaning all the appliances, floors, and windows.

Description of Work: I was really excited to try this service based on it's high reviews on Angie's List--we desperately need a housekeeping service! Maria responded promptly to my initial inquiry and quoted very reasonable prices. | |The first visit, two women came to do a deep clean. I stuck around the house, and when they showed me their work at the end, I was delighted. It looked like they had done a stellar job! It was only after they left that I noticed the cleaning solution they had used on our stove had eaten away the paint on the front panel, where the clock and knobs are, and on the back vent. I was pretty upset that they left without mentioning the damage--it was very obvious. | |I got in touch with the owner, Maria, and she promptly responded and said the women had not noticed. I suppose it's possible that the damage didn't appear until later--I really don't know. Maria came by to see the damage to the stove and offered to order new parts and replace them. I gave her the make and model for the stove. Later, however, she emailed me asking ME to order the parts, which cost over $100, offering to reimburse me--I have no idea why the change in plans, which put the onus on me to get things done, or how the actual replacement was supposed to work. It seemed like a major headache, though, and I was afraid the stove would just get broken during the work, so we agreed that I would receive a $100 credit toward my next cleaning instead (this was not a new or fancy stove). I know it sounds crazy that I would have the service back again after the first cleaning went so badly, but they really did do a great job on the first cleaning, except for the damage stove--and I was hoping this was a freak occurrence. | |Unfortunately, the next cleaning wasn't nearly the same quality as the first cleaning. I was not home, so I'm not sure whether a different team came to do it or what. Parts of the kitchen counter weren't even wiped down, the appliances were not wiped down, the faucets were not cleaned, things were not dusted... The strangest thing was that there were a few dirty dishes in the sink from breakfast, and instead of just washing them or moving them aside to clean the sink and then putting them back, the cleaners put the dirty dishes on top of clean dishes in the drying rack. So nutella from the dirty dishes got smeared on the clean dishes, and everything was just a jumble. I came home expecting a clean house and instead got to do dishes :/ | |Again, when I let Maria know about the problems, she was very responsive and offered to send a team to finish up the job. But at this point I just wanted to be done with the cleaning service so that I could find a reliable one. In short, the prices are very reasonable and Maria was very responsive, but the quality was problematic for us--I'd happily pay more for a service that gets the job done reliably and doesn't do any damage.

Description of Work: Had service for a few months. Cleaning was just Ok. Ran into a few weeks where we had to reschedule, due to a sick pet. They also had conflicts where they asked to adjust the time. I guess they got tired of working with us because they just stopped coming, without even the courtesy of a call.

Description of Work: I hired Maria Cleaning to do a thorough cleaning of a 1,700-square-foot townhouse in preparation for listing it for sale. An elderly disabled lady had lived there and she hadn't kept up with it. I walked through with Maria and discussed everything that needed to be done -- dusting, wiping out cabinets, cleaning bathrooms and kitchen, mopping floors, wiping down walls, vacuuming and shampooing carpets. She seemed to understand and agreed to everything. We agreed on a time. I told her I had to be somewhere by 4:30, but I could come by in the late afternoon to bring the check. When I came a young man and woman were still working. I was surprised at some of the things that still weren't done. The young man explained that they don't do walls (?) and they're not allowed to move appliances to mop behind them. I tried to argue but he stuck to his guns. I went over some of the other work that still had to be done and wrote the check because I had to go. But when I came the next day, I found that the floors were still dirty, especially in the corners, the stove wasn't clean, there were cobwebs on the walls, etc. I spent four hours re-cleaning. I think they just ran a wet mop over the floors and called it good. I'm not even sure the carpets were shampooed. I expressed my disappointment to Maria and she said she would check into it, but later she told me that the young man was correct and that if I wasn't happy with the work I shouldn't have paid them. I should have read the reviews here more closely. I'm sure they're fine for routine cleaning, but not for deep cleaning. And I still think it's weird that they don't do walls or move appliances. I would expect that to be done even in a routine cleaning.

Description of Work: General housecleaning every three weeks. Two people most of the time and since the first cleaning when Maria (owner) was present, the quality has been going downhill since and the amount of time they spend cleaning is getting shorter. Our origianal quote was two people for 2 hours and last time they were here for one hour and twenty minutes! They are fast but not thorough - they dust with a "pouf" around things without moving them, my stainless steel refrigerator was not polished, under and behind bathroom and kitchen sink faucets was not cleaned, TV was not cleaned (kids fingerprints), and lastly when my mother in law came in afterward, she noticed cobwebs hanging inside the front door! So, if you are looking for a fast cleaning job but with poor attention to detail, this company will work for you. I think after a 6 month long relationship of overlooking things, I am done using them.
