Maria House Cleaning

We've been using Maria House Cleaning for several months now. They are much better than our previous cleaners and about $40 less per cleaning. They are always very thorough and far less likely to leave lights on and windows open that our previous cleaners. We no longer have sticky floors in front of the stove, and they are always willing to put clean sheets on the bed if we leave them out. The change to Maria has been a great choice for us.

I contacted Maria about 3 weeks before we were supposed to move out of our townhouse. She came over and gave a very reasonable estimate for a moveout cleaning, plus an oven cleaning. The house cleaners arrived on the time and day we had scheduled. We were not home, but we left a key under the mat which they had no trouble finding. The house cleaners did a fantastic job cleaning the house. Not only did we receive a full refund of the refundable portion of our deposit, but the landlord saw no need to keep the nonrefundable deposit, since the house was so clean. Also, the landlord asked for Maria's contact information for future reference, because of the quality of the work they did on our moveout. I highly recommend Maria House Cleaning!

The company is very responsive and organized. The crew is punctual, extremely detailed and efficient. They have become my weekly cleaners. I am extremely satisfied with their work.

Everything went smoothly. The cleaner was here on time and got the job done well and efficiently. This was the second cleaning we've had done, and have scheduled monthly cleanings since we're very satisfied with their work.

Very professional - calls the day before to confirm time. The house looks and smells clean when I get home. Great price for a house cleaning. I am happy with their work and will continue to use their service.

We were so impressed by the couple that came and worked so hard. They did a wonderful job and we are looking forward to next appointment with Maria's.

We went with Maria's because they state that they do window cleaning and we wanted our windows cleaned along with the house in preparation of putting it on the market. We wanted a 'deep clean'. My wife called to set up the appointment and this is what she conveyed to them. They require a two person team for two hour minimum, at $35/hr/person (for their 'experienced' cleaners) that is not cheap and sets a higher expectation of service. My wife communicated that she would take 3 hours with the team and expected the following: Base boards wiped down Windows cleaned inside/out kitchen cleaned (including inside of 1 window) 2 bathrooms cleaned We did not need the floors cleaned or vacuumed. The team showed up on time, and then proceeded to change into their work clothes - on the clock. They apparently like to work together so they can chat while they work. This must have been difficult though because I have a small house. They also spent time on the phone while 'working'. They also don't do windows - huh? After a call to Maria to clarify this, Maria said, ok, they can clean the inside of the windows. That is not what we wanted or requested. Apparently windows are a separate team that we would have to pay extra for. This should have been communicated when my wife called to request the service. They did end up cleaning the inside of our single kitchen window. Overall they were slow and inefficient and apparently have a variety of things they won't do in a cleaning. But they were good at going slow and stating it will take additional time to clean one of our bathtubs (an extra hour - at $70 that's expensive for a clean tub). After 3 hours, I have a sort of clean kitchen and a clean tub in one bathroom and a clean inside of one kitchen window. That's it. Now, I understand my tub might have been a little extra dirty, but I know my kitchen was fairly clean already and clutter free since we are getting ready to stage our house. We already had our newish floors cleaned and had to ask the cleaners to remove their shoes. What was not cleaned, but was expected: Kitchen counters Top of stove - its a glass top, not tough to clean. Most kitchen cabinet doors - 3 of them were cleaned. Bottom of the built in microwave/exhaust hood Tile behind the stove - one of the dirtiest places in a kitchen, but our tile is less than a year old so it wasn't that dirty. Everything except the tub in one bathroom and my whole second bathroom. Baseboards (no wipe-down was done). My house is about 1200 square feet, pretty small, and has been extensively remodeled over the last 4 years, so there isn't that much dirt. Six person hours of cleaning should have accomplished more than what was done. This is a problem when you pay someone by the hour instead of the job, there is no incentive for them to work efficiently. The office also called ten minutes early to say our time with the team was up and they were leaving. This company is not a company I will do business with again and would not recommend to others. I'm surprised their rating on here is so high. That is why we chose them. Live and learn. Now, I must go help my wife finish cleaning the house.

They do a great job. Have been using their services for a number of years.

she did a good job of cleaning but threw valuable items that were on the end tables, including checks, user manuals and partially read magazines. most importantly, she threw away my wife's pills. we were upstairs leaving the woman unsupervised (our fault) except for instructions at the start. not our first time hiring house cleaners but our last with these people.

They arrived at the agreed-on time and worked diligently. In fact, I have never seen two women work so hard. Everything sparkled!

Marcella arrived promptly on the agreed upon date and hour. She changed her outside shoes into inside slippers which I did not expect but appreciated. She is very conscientious, professional and productive. She started right in with very little instruction. I believe her to be very trustworthy and will give her a key for subsequent biweekly visits. The first visit was a bit early for me so I contacted Maria and she promptly replied with two other options. Very accommodating and easy to work with. I highly recommend.

We recently bought an older house that had accumulated the sort of mild grime that comes along with a certain lack of housekeeping habits, so we thought we'd have a really thorough cleaning done to give us a fresh start before moving in. I contacted Maria House Cleaning via Angie's List. The owner offered to do an in-person estimate, but when she arrived, she was curt and seemed uninterested in actually walking around the house. I was clear that beyond the regular cleaning like countertops and sinks, all the drawers and cabinets in the house needed to be wiped out. The estimate was very inexpensive, so I went ahead and signed up for a cleaning. Scheduling was prompt; I got a call right away. On the day of the service, a young man arrived at the house during the service window, but he wasn't in any sort of uniform, wasn't carrying equipment, and didn't seem prepared to do cleaning work. I wasn't sure -- and am still not sure -- whether an actual crew was supposed to meet him, or if he planned to do all that work himself. I showed him around and then we needed to leave for another commitment. He offered to call me when the job was complete, so I gave him my cell number. (He didn't call.) When we got back to the house later in the day, after just enough time for a full cleaning crew to have completed the work, we discovered he was gone and the work was...well, sort of done. Kind of. Maybe. The kitchen counters had been wiped, but no one had moved the couple of lightweight boxes on the counter to wipe under them. The bathrooms had more or less been cleaned. None of the cabinets or drawers or shelves had been touched. The floors did get cleaned, which was nice. Overall, I would not recommend this provider to anyone.

They were fine, they showed up. They were very prompt. The work I think was very good as I don't use house cleaners so I don't have much to compare too.

Our cleaner does a very nice job. She is punctual and cleans like a maniac. Best of all Maria's charges literally half as much as we were paying with our previous cleaning service. Our previous cleaner was slightly more thorough on the floors but Maria's is very good and very reasonably priced.

They were very rushed. The two women who came to do the work misunderstood what they were supposed to do so they had to rush to get to what I've asked for and was flying off to the next client. They did a good job but it was very short shrift, not the most professional.

They were great. Really thorough, asked us what we wanted to focus on, walked us through what they did. Would hire them again.

It wS fine until the house cleaners told me that it would take another 20 minutes for them to mop the floor. I had to pay an extra $30. I have the house cleaned on a regular basis and pay the same amount. The couple who cleaned were very thourough, but were probably overwhelmed with the house. I guess I think the owner should have let them finish and not charge above what I had already paid for. That would have been good business sense and I would have considered hiring them again.

It went well. I obtained a written estimate for the work and scheduled the appointment. The day prior, I received confirmation regarding the appointment. The 2 cleaners arrived on time for the job and completed the tasks in a timely manner. All and all, a good experience. My only recommendation would be for Maria to utilize email more effectively so as to avoid having to trade voice mail messages to finalize appointments, etc.

It went well. Not much to say. the women came and did their work and then left. They did a good job cleaning and even did my dishes which was nice.

Two workers arrived promptly from Maria House Cleaning to scrub and clean my mother's older home in preparation to sell. The 1940 house - both upstairs and basement - fairly sparkled when they were through. There was a lot of dust and mildew and caked up dirt that they had to deal with - but the end product was very presentable to show to the buying public. The receptionist from Maria House Cleaning - not sure if she was the owner herself - was very accommodating and personable and it was a pleasure to deal with her.

They were prompt and professional.They were very responsive.

It was great. It worked out really well. They sent two people out. I think they were supposed to be out here for three hours. It probably went a little longer than that. They did everything I asked and did a great job. They did the outside. They didn't clean the inside of the fridge or the inside of the oven. They did clean inside of the microwave. They brought their own supplies.

I've been using Maria House Cleaning for several months. Each week the same two people come and clean the main floor and upstairs. I am a cluttery sort of person and had always hoped for someone who could clean around the clutter that only *I* would know what to do with, and they do that very well -- they don't move the papers around on my desk or anything like that, and in the living room they neatly pile the assorted books that are lying around rather than putting them in the bookcase where I won't be bale to find them again. They are really good at making the place clean. I especially love coming in and finding my nasty kitchen floor all clean and the cat hair totally gone from all the upholstery. I'm usually here to let the cleaners in and they are both very pleasant and professional.

The person from Maria house cleaning showed up right on time. I gave her a few specific things I wanted cleaned and told her other than that to just do general sweeping, dusting, etc. She got right to work and I left with my daughter to get out of her way. We were gone for three hours and came back to the house just as she was getting into her car and driving away. The house looked amazing and she cleaned areas I didn't expect her to, but the deal was for 4 hours not 3. I have a downstairs area that I would have had her clean. And I would have thought when she saw me pull up she would have stopped and said something about it only being 3 hours and ask if I had anything else that needed to be done. Instead she seemed to rush off as fast as she could before I could stop her. I contacted the company and they said they would be happy to give me one additional hour of cleaning at no charge but that they didn't send people out for just one hour so I would have to purchase a second hour. At the time I thought that was fine but after thinking about it I don't think this was a good deal. I felt as if I'd been suck into a scheme to get more money out of me.
