Alpine Gentle Roof Cleaning

I first contacted Alpine through Angie's List email and they quickly responded and asked me to go online and complete the online request for estimate. I finally got around to that weeks later, about 2 weeks ago, and sent that request in Sunday the 5th. I heard nothing from them. I called their office and left a message a week later, Monday the 13th and let them know I'd completed an estimate request and hadn't heard back. I left my phone number at least 2 times so I'd be sure it was clear and they had it. It's now Friday and I still have heard Nothing back from them. Complete Fail on professionalism, responsiveness, and customer service. I just scheduled with another company today and they will complete the work this weekend! Hooray!

They were careful, very thorough and cleaned up the site well. We were very satisfied with their service and definitely plan to use them again.

Nate came in the morning. It took a couple of hours. They cleaned up the yard and the deck after they were done.

Things went very well. They have been maintaining my cedar shake roof for the past 10 years or so. I estimate they come out every three years or so to clean and treat my cedar shakes. My roof looks great and I have never had a leak.

Original appointment cancelled due to snow. Rescheduled for week later. Prompt, courteous, professional. Cleaned up afterwards.

They did a great job but they weren’t timely. I had a hard time getting them to come out. They kept putting me off. I stopped using them because of that a year ago.

I was very pleased with Alpine's work. They gave me an estimate, showed up on time and completed the work as requested. The work appears to be very good (although I am not a roofer and have not gone back up on my roof). I guy Alpine sent to wash and treat the roof was great. Brian washed several years of gunk off of our roof, washed off the entire house and driveway. He even racked out the gardens. The roof and house looked fantastic. The problem we had with Alpine was not with its work but the communication. When the roofers game to replace the shingles (shake) they determined that they would need a "few" more bundles of shakes, which Nate the owner estimated at 2 - 4 more bundles. The roofers came back three days in a row and appeared to do a fine job. Lots of shakes replaced and lots of hammering. When the invoice arrived, I was surprised to an increase of shake bundles from 15 to 29 and an increased charge of over $1,000. I was disappointed to have not been consulted on the increase in shakes and felt a little taken advantage of. To Alpine's credit, Nate called me promptly after I complained about the invoice (we had already paid it in full). He acknowledged the lack of communication and was very reasonable in reaching a resolution to this dispute. I am convinced that the mark of an honest business is the way they deal with complaints/disputes/adversity. Alpine showed honesty and good customer relations and I plan on using them again. Although I would make sure that the communication lines are wide open!

Alpine washed the debris off our roof. We had a light covering of moss, leaves and debris. True to their name, their process was very gentle, washing off a very small amount of roofing material. We also paid for anti-moss treatment. It was raining on the washing day, and the tech explained that they needed to apply the moss treatment on a dry day, so it would adhere to the roof. They came back approximately a week later and completed the treatment. They did not request payment until the job was complete, which I felt was very professional. What was surprising was how well they cleaned up all the debris that came off the roof. You would hardly know they had even been there except the roof was clean!

Angie's List was very helpful!! Absolutely superb job from start to finish. Setting up the appt. was quick and easy with Nate. Employee showed up and he was very thorough. He had a really "Great work ethic, personality and did a very professional roof /gutter cleaning." He made sure that the walls of our home, our deck and grouds were cleaned up after finishing the job. Outstanding service and totally satisfied with the finished job. (roof/gutters look GREAT!!)

there was a confusion on the price for the roof cleaning which Nate was willing to hear my side of story and he negotiated a new price which i appreciate immensely. He was courteous an definitely can use next time.

Great job! We have a beautiful old-growth cedar shake roof that had not been clean in several years. The roof was thoroughly cleaned, which resulted in a lot of dirt and debris, but clean up was superb! We had to leave before the job was complete, but were delighted when we returned to find the entire area around the house clean and in order. A few days later, the roof was treated and a few shingles replaced, so our roof is beautiful again! Excellent work!

Alpine uses a low-pressure high-volume approach to cleaning off the moss, so it uses a lot of water but it's easier on the shingles. The treatment lasts about three years. There was some splashing over the gutters, so we had to clean some of our windows afterwards. Other than that, the site was cleaned up in a professional manner, the job was done on time, and we are happy with the results. We have used Alpine to keep the moss off our roof for 6-7 years now, and will probably continue to do so every three years.

Wow. These guys are thorough and determined. They were working during the winter, and patiently waited for dry(ish) days to complete the work around the rain, fog, snow, wind and just about everything short of frogs falling from the sky. During the course of the project they discovered that the roof caps and a lot of shakes (mostly in shady parts of the roof) were worn out, and they repaired those sections. They were very open about showing us the damaged old shakes, and going over options, and then proceeded with the approved repairs. There were no surprises in the process, our roof looks great, and there were no financial surprises. The good news is that Alpine said that the remaining old shakes are in great shape. Like most Angie's List "A" providers, they are not the cheapest in the business, but we are completely happy with the results. Our next-door neighbors are now getting their roof serviced by Alpine.

The owner is very responsive and he came up with the solution to our issue and convince us that was a good long-term solution that would prevent problems somewhere down the road. He followed through and did what he said he was going to do. He worked with his crew too, so it's fairly small business. It took them three days to do the work. He's our roofer of choice now.

I'm truly sorry to have to give these folks an F. I contacted them through Angie's List in November 2012 about cleaning my gutters and pressure washing my carport and patio roofs. I received a prompt reply asking for my address and phone numbers, which I replied back with the same day. That same afternoon I received a response telling me that Nate their estimator would be in touch with me in the next day or two. That was the last I ever heard from them. I follwed up with them one last time about two weeks later, explaining that my overflowing gutter was causing my basement to flood and asking them just to let me whether or not they were able to consider the job so I could pursue other options. That was three months ago, and I've never heard anything back.

It took them 5 months to finish the job. They were terrible. They came in late September and finished the job this last Monday. It was ridiculous. The quality of their work was good but it was not timely. They get a big job and then they kick you to the curb. They told us they had big jobs that they had to take care of. The price was a lot. They cleaned the roof and then it sat for 5 months before they stained it which was not acceptable. Their price was on the high end of the other bids. I would never recommend them.
