Description of Work: I've tried using Universal Mechanical several years ago, and I'll be honest -- I wasn't that pleased then only because during the course of a routine heat pump inspection, a thermostat sensor broke. I'm not going to say that the thermostat sensor broke _as a result of_ the inspection because I'm not 100% certain, but I was less than enthused back then to have been charged for that repair. In any case, I'm a firm believer of second chances, and the fact that Universal Mechanical has received such stellar reviews and high ratings from most everyone, I decided to give them another try. | |I wasn't disappointed. They responded to my online inquiry almost immediately, and in less than 15 minutes, I had an appointment scheduled. On the day of the appointment, the technician called me to give me an approximate time of when he would arrive, and he arrived at the stated time. He was professional, answered all my questions knowledgeable, and the whole process was painless. I'm glad I gave them a second chance.

Description of Work: The tech arrived just a little late but was very responsive and helpful. He was able to trouble shoot a potential serious problem and resolve it with a simple fix. I was very happy with the work. I would have been nice to have a 30 minute arrival call though.

Description of Work: This was billed as an end-of-season cleaning and maintenance of the furnace. All they did was a quick tune-up and wipe-down of the furnace, less than half an hour's work. They did not do any duct cleaning - maybe not expected, but didn't even vacuum out under the heating vents. So, they get a C = average, not exceptional value for the price.

They contacted me to schedule the appointments the day i bought the deals. The tech (name escapes me) was really friendly and professional. He told me exactly what he was doing and didnt mind my annoying and countless questions! We definitely recommend UM!

Description of Work: Service was great. I had a condensation leaking issue with my furnace and the technician took the time to locate the problem and fix it. I believe this was beyond the details of the service he came for which was a basic furnace check up. He was informative and helpful and I actually learned a little about my furnace maintenance. He send me a follow up email within hours.

Description of Work: After some initial issues with servicing our heat pump, the technicians brought our HVAC up to tip top shape in time to transition from heating to cooling seasons. Because of the issues involved the service ended up requiring 3 trips to complete. Even though it ended up requiring much more extensive work than was anticipated, Universal honored their original bid. The repairmen were polite and knowledgible. I particularly want to commend Ignacio for quickly diagnosing what needed to be done and expediting repairs to make certain our system continues to perform optimally. Thanks for a job that ended up well done.

Description of Work: They tuned up my gas furnace. It looks like he did a great job. Gave me some information that would help me keep the filters working well. I would've liked a checklist of what checked out well, yet I was happy with the job
