A person from Universal Mechanical Service Co Inc Company came out and found out that the unit that he came to repair wasn?t any good. So, he gave me a quote for a new furnace, which was extraordinarily extravagant. He gave me two quotes; one was for $4000 and one was for $5000. There was nothing wrong with their product. It was just too expensive. So, I got it installed by another company for much lesser price. However, the person who came out tried hard to fix the furnace but it wasn?t feasible. I probably would not use them in the future.

They were professional and thorough. They measured every room.

They did a very good job with the quote. I wouldn?t use them because they are too expensive, but definitely very organized. They came in with a laptop and gave me a quote the same day. They were well dressed and were on time.

EVERYTHING about this estimate, installation and follow up was EXCELLENT. if they were going to be even a few minutes late, i received a phone call. the clean up, which was more than we expected because of the wood stove chimney removal, was very thorough. this is the consumate company for professional installation and customer service. Estimate was well within range of others and in fact included additional parts that other companies did not include in their estimates.

It cannot be said that November 23rd was a fantastic day for road conditions. Many people chose to stay at home. I live on a hill, albeit not but just a couple miles from where Universal Mechanicals company is located, but up a steep hill from them nonetheless. I was notified well in advance (1.5 weeks) that they would arrive around 9:30am, and would be available to arrive sooner were there not a morning meeting coming up that day of the week. Cory showed up on time, driving carefully, and well equipped for the task at hand. All the equipment was put in my garage (where the installation was to occur) and there he was for the whole day and the day after. Temperatures were no higher than 28 and as low as the mid teens. Granted the garage didn't have the breeze, but it was still literally freezing conditions to work in. Cory is task driven, detail oriented, experienced and professional. The guy just didn't stop, maybe once to use the restroom. He only had to leave the job site once and briefly, to get a needed part for the installation. Other than that one occurrence, if anything was needed, Rhet showed up to deliver it to him. Tank-less water heater was put in a new location, so gas and water lines needed to be re-run. The new furnace didn't vent the way the old one did, so that had to be installed as well. The thermostat wire was a 2 wire system and inefficient for the thermostat for the Trane system we had installed, so Cory briefly got to warm up by spending some time in the crawlspace below my house. Cory also noticed a small rattle noise from the water heater, and would not let it go until that was resolved to make sure there was nothing faulty with the unit. (turned out to be a loose screw from the manufacturer, which he tightened). Not a complaint about the cold, the job was completed on time and I have no complaints as of 6 hours later. I would recommend this company to both friends and family.

It was a good experience. They stayed with us throughout the process to make sure we had all the information we needed. During this time frame, Rhett was called upon to fill not only his shoes but those of the employee who normally acts as the go between for the customer and Rhett. He gave us his Email address and we were able to ask our questions without a problem. They definitely took the time at the outset to go over our existing equipment, which included coils we had installed when we bought our new heater five years ago. They checked on our heater outlets and figured out which size AC unit we would need. When they came to install the unit, they were fully prepared and sent great technicians. We were sure they would do a great job, and they did. Overall, I would hire them again.

They were super! The electrical and gas work was great! They put an earthquake shut off valve on the main gasline coming into the house. We had never heard of that before. If we have an earthquake, it will shut the gas off to the water heater and the furnace. It is a simple device, and simple to get going again. They did a super job! We were in no hurry to get the job done.

I ran into them when they were doing commercial work for me when I was working and I asked them if they also did residential work and they do. They did very good repair work for me and I was not happy with the company I was using before. They are very prompt and don?t do more than is necessary. They did the job quickly at a reasonable rate, what more can you ask for. They respond quickly, do what they say they are going to do and when they say they are going to do it. It is a big company and I like they way they do business.

The sales representative was extremely helpful with all of our questions and concerns. Before we had even decided to use this company he sent out the person who would end up actually installing the furnace, to answer more of our specific questions about how it would fit and work. The work was scheduled easily and quickly, and was completed within the time frame they gave us. It was a very professional job-they went above and beyond. The clean-up was excellent as well. We are very happy with the results.

In response to our call about a malfunctioning pressure-release valve, UMS very promptly sent out someone the next morning who confirmed that the valve needed to be replaced, gave us a bid for the valve replacement and for replacing the entire tank, and recommended that we actually consider a different company for the tank replacement because UMS was fully booked for the next several days and wouldn't be able to install a tank immediately. We were very satisfied with the prompt and professional work.

The salesman is well versed on technology and new devices. They only sale TRANE units for air conditioning. They are extremely accomendating. They were on-time. They wore protective booties through the house. Cleaned up after themselves every day. The salesman and the technician could answer all my questions. They also provide a 10 year warranty on labor and parts. I would highly recommend them. I also would recommend the TRANE units. They are very reliable and quite.
