Rhett called ahead asking if he might came a half-hour early (which was ok), and he was polite & pleasant while checking the furnace and cleaning the filters.

He was helpful, pointed out a few things I could do to improve the performance/efficiency. The service was quick, but I feel I got my money's worth.

The inspection went great. The techniician was on-time, friendly and efficient. The inspection was completed in about a half hour, the furnace filter was changed, everything was cleaned up and a detailed report was provided. I would definitely use this company again and would recommend them to friends and family.

Rehtt with the company arrived on time and explained what needs to be done. He showed me how to change the filter. He made me practice with another filter.

I scheduled my appointment online--always my preferred method--through Sandra. She found a time that worked for my schedule and sent a confirmation email the day before with Brett's cell phone number. Brett was on time and very friendly. He explained the potential issues well and followed through on his promise to get me a quote. I would definitely use UMS again.

Went as expected and took about 25 minutes

E mailed for appointment. Received a prompt reply with a suggested day and time which worked. Rhett arrived as scheduled. Did a good job in completing the necessary checks. In addition he went out of his way to answer my questions and checked out some airflow issues I had. He was very professional and I felt that I received more than my moneys worth.

Rhett took his time was cheerful and very professional! He offered several; valuable suggestions to lower heating cooling and hot water. Costs, definitely will have have him come back every year.

I bought one of the Angie's Big Deals and wow am I glad I did. I had been thinking about having my air conditioner checked out even though there was nothing apparently wrong with it. Every year I turn it to cool and like magic it works. I know that can't go on forever so I was pleased to see the offer. Scheduling an appointment was very easy. I wasn't in a hurry but was able to get an appointment within a week or two if I wanted a more convenient (for me) appointment time. Email or telephone, the response time was the same. I like that. Rhett was on time, thoroughly professional and arrived ready to work. He was respectful and really seemed to know exactly what he needed to do. No fuss, no trying to sell me anything, and did more than what was included! He also checked the furnace and answered a couple of questions I had about replacement for my hot water heater and adding a humidifier onto the furnace. This was a really good experience and I will use them in future for sure.

We were very pleased with this company and got more than our $59.00 value. The service person was very pleasant. He got right to work and spent about 45 minutes in all. He noticed that the fan control hadn't been hooked up correctly so he fixed that for no extra charge. We're so glad to be able to move air around the house when it's hot even if we don't have air conditioning. I highly recommend this company.

Overall the service was great and Corey was very courteous and professional. During the first appointment he came out to check our furnace and water heater. He inspected all the parts, explained what had been recently replaced and the condition of the furnace and water heater. The furnace was in good condition for its age but would probably need to be replaced in 2 - 3 years. He also explained the water heater had some seepage and corrosion and that it would need replacing sooner rather than later. During this appointment he also thoroughly cleaned the all the air vents and the dryer vent, using a rotobrush. Peering into the vents afterwards, I can see he did a very thorough job. Our dryer is drying much more efficiently as a result of this service. After he finished, Corey strongly suggested we replace the water heater and that he would send us an estimate the following morning. As promised the estimate was in my email inbox the following morning. Over the course of a couple of days he quickly got back to me and answered my questions regarding the efficiency of the model he was proposing to install. He also gave me the information regarding the automatic gas shutoff valve. He came to do the work later on in the week and finished the work well within the scheduled window. I am very pleased with Corey's service and I would not hesitate to use this company again or to recommend Universal Mechanical to someone I know.

I dealt only with Marco, who was on time, polite, and respectful to this middle-aged lady. I would call Unimec again.

The technician (Rhelt) arrived exactly on time. Explained what he was looking for & going to do, cleaned out the furnace filter (My furnace didn't take the use & throw kind), provided recommended on what be needed to be done. along with specific quotes for each item.

I purchased the Angie's List Big Deal coupon for a full furnace inspection, and tune-up. I expected that, at this great price, that I'd likely get a quick, somewhat mediocre service on my furnace. In other words, my expectations were not particularly high going into this service call. Well, the actual experience with UMS was TERRIFIC. I got a call the day before reminding me of the visit and giving me the cell phone of the technician. The technician showed up right on time the next morning. He was very professional, very helpful at answering my questions, he listened to my concerns, he took his time and appeared to do a great job. He solved my primary problem which was a very subtle gas smell. He described to me what he had done. He was very patient, and it was just a great experience overall. I would definitely recommend these folks. I could not have been more pleased with the experience.

Rhett came and was warm, courteous and friendly. He was even willing to give my dog a couple of treats I provided to help stop the barking. He agreed to let me answer questions while he worked so I would know what to do for general owner care. He volunteered information and solutions for possible problems I might face in the future in addition to answering my questions. He worked quickly and efficiently. I had a question about my Earthquake shut-off valve so he showed me how to reset it, bravely and delicately making his way through our wild garden. I had one very small issue and that was he didn't vacuum the few bits of dirt that fell out of my furnace. I wouldn't even have mentioned it in this review but I had just finished cleaning the floor. I was very pleased with the overall service and I plan on doing business with Universal Mechanical Services in the future as well as recommend them to my friends.

Rhett came on time and performed a normal / annual inspection of gas furnace. He answered my questions and made appropriate suggestions.

I was happy with their work. I have had a number of servicemen in the past, and these were among the best.

Rhett was prompt, thorough, and very professional. He is the first technician that ever cleaned A/C unit by removing cover and vacuuming it !!

Corey the technician from Universal Mechanical Service Co Inc. was on time, very friendly, professional and very competent. He spent a fair amount of time diagnosing a heat delay problem which turned out to be a thermostat issue.

Great. I will have Universal perform my annual systems checks going forward.

Inspection & replacement went well, only negative item was that warranty policy was not explained prior to purchase. Extended warranty was included in price of furnace ($ 192) which I accepted but don't normally purchase. Had to request written explanation of their overall warranty program.

I called Universal Mechanical Service to schedule a furnace tune up after purchasing their Angie Big Deal offer. The scheduler was very efficient, professional, and polite. We arranged an appointment for a few weeks later, as the deal was very popular and also my schedule was busy. I received a call the day before the appointment reconfirming the appointment and asking if I had any questions. These calls are always appreciated! Rhett arrived on time, with all the tools necessary for the job. He walked us through our heating system (we just bought the house and everything is new to us). Rhett explained how furnaces work, how to maintain them, and what not to do. He also found that the furnace wasn't wired to maximize efficiency and quickly fixed this in the furnace and the thermostat. Overall, Rhett was very personable, professional, and punctual. We would hire him and his company again for future furnace service.

Rhett, the service consultant, showed up about 10 minutes after the scheduled appointment time. He was very nice, knowledgable and friendly. I felt very comfortable having him work in my home.

I bought the Big Deal of $59 for furnace tune-up/clean/check. Rhrett came in right on time. Did a good job on the furnace . Explained the condition of the furnace to me, and also commented on the water heater. He also demo'ed the air exchanger that is connected to the furnace . He did not try to sell me anything. I feel that this is a company that I can trust. Today's experience restored my confidence in using furnace service (that was destroyed by bad experience with the other one I used last time). I recommend Universal Mechanical and Rhrett.
