They were very flexible when I had to reschedule multiple times. Rhet phoned me to let me know he was going to be about 10 minutes late. Once at our home, Rhet quickly performed the inspection and pointed out several problems with the installation that was done by another company. He agreed to provide an estimate for correcting the most critical items. I will definitely use them again!

Bought the Big Deal furnace service, when I tried to schedule a appointment they said that they couldn't offer me anything for a month. I rang, had to leave two messages before after ringing back a third time I finally had to pay $220 to get a technician to come out to service our furnace. The tech was fine enough but the service was awful. Just hope your not in a hurry!

UMI arrived and explained what he was going to do with the furnace and proceeded to do it. He answered questions and was very honest and professional in his conduct.

They were very nice and professional. They came out right away to look at issue. The serviceman came back the next day, on time and completed the work. I was very pleased and the price seemed reasonable.

We needed our older gas fireplace insert repaired and Universal was able to come out quickly. After inspecting the insert, our technician told us that a couple of parts will need to be replaced sooner than later, but was able to get the pilot to stay on with some minor surgery without having to order parts at this time. Very happy with promptness of appointment, and work done by technician.

Since I signed up on the last day and they'd had such a good response, it was 3 months before there was an opening. This was OK since it wasn't anything urgent. I received a re-confirmation/reminder email the day before. Rhett was just a little late but had called several hours before to alert me and it wasn't a problem. He was very thorough and professional. He cleaned out the furnace. He even noticed a potential problem with the water heater, though that wasn't part of the inspection. I appreciated his advice. He recommended a new water heater "within the next year" and the reasons he gave were obvious when he pointed out the symptoms on the unit. The job took about an hour. Since it looks like I'll need a new water heater, I would be favorably inclined to purchase it and the installation from this company.

Rauntt introduced himself and was very proficient at his job. He even made some observations of our hot water heater.

They were perfect with their promptness. They were perfect in terms of the ease of getting the appointment made and them being here. They did the cleaning perfectly well too. The quality of their work was real good. The young man who did the cleanup and tune up was very professional. They were punctual; they were here on the second that they were supposed to be here. They gave me a time and they were there at that time. They told me that I had a crack in my firebox and that it needs to be replaced. The furnace was only seven or eight years old. The young man tried to get a light in so that he could show it to me but I couldn't see what he was talking about. So, I decided to get a second opinion rather than to spend a $1000 to have this part replaced, which is all labor. The part was in warranty, so they were ready to fix it for a $1000. The second opinion that I got was that there was nothing wrong with the part. I would not use them again in the future because of the misdiagnosis. However, I do think that it was just an honest mistake made by the young man.

They called to tell me that they were running late. He followed up with the bid and some stuff that we spoke about. He gave me some tips. He was very polite and helpful. I would probably work with him again.

The excellent ratings for UMS, some good reviews at work, the fact that they deal with Trane equipment, and on top of that the Angie's List coupons made choosing UMS pretty easy. I scheduled a regular heatpump and furnace service about a month in advance with 2 of those $59 coupons. I also asked about checking our gas fireplace, and I was told that Rhett would be able to take a look at that as well. I didn't need to pay anythig extra for that. While I was a little worried on the day of the appointment whether anyone would show up because it had been scheduled relatively far in advance, my concerns were completely unfounded -- Rhett showed up right on time! He spent about an hour or so taking apart and putting back together our furnace and heatpump, and took a lot of time answering all my questions. He even wrote down the part number for a fireplace blower fan for me so that I could order it online instead of trying to sell me one. If he would have taken off his shoes when inspecting the fireplace then this would have been the perfect experience, but since he was only walking on our hardwood flooring and never stepped on our light carpet that was forgivable and I didn't push for it either.

They did a fine job. There was nothing exceptional, but it was a good experience. Their price was good. I would use them if I still have a coupon with them. I don't know about the quality because I was not here.

Everything went really well. I think it's a good company and I'd consider using them again in the future. I was pleased their honesty

Corey called to see if he would arrive a bit early, he did much more than we anticipated, upon all left us with excellent feedback about our system and was thoroughly professional.

Mr. Rhett, the technician, was on time and finished the work in a timely manner as advertised by them. He found a cracked heat exchanger about which I need to get a second opinion. I am yet to decide whether to use them again or not.

I found a Big Deal on Angie's list for Universal Mechanical Service Co. Right after purchasing the deal I called to schedule an appointment. It took about a week and a half until they could come out but that makes sense as it was just a maintenance thing and not an emergency. Corey arrived promptly at the scheduled time and got right to work. He didn't have the correct filters with him so he ran to the hardware store and came back and put them in. He also showed me how to install them for future reference. I was told the service would take about an hour and a half and they were spot on. This company was great from start to finish and I would highly recommend them. I will be using them in the future for sure!

Our high-efficiency furnace was installed in 2010 by a different HVAC company, and it was time for an annual checkup. Rhett was very thorough in his Furnace Tuneup/Clean & Check, including advising us of several questionable furnace installation issues and two furnace installation code violations, for which he agreed to subsequently provide repair estimates. Both Rhett and UMS have been great to work with, and I'd highly recommend them to anyone.

I needed an annual furnace tuneup. Called office and had service scheduled. Tech arrived on time and performed service as expected. It lasted between 30 and 60 minutes. The tech also cleaned the furnace from the inside and trimmed two screws that had been protruding through my furnace ducts to make access to the filters safer. He also put in new filters instead of my old one that I hadn't replaced yet. Overall I'm happy with the service.
