This went very well. The air duct cleaning was not the lowest bid, but the reputation of this company was compelling. They were punctual, professional and courteous. I will be using their services for furnace and AC tune up again!

I contacted them in November but the service was not done until February. My tennants were part of the problem with scheduling. Universal told me they would send me a report on the condition of the furnace. They did not. I did not receive a receipt either. I had to contact my tennants to find out if/when the work was done and if there were any problems with the furnance. According to my tennants, the furnace was fine. I've had a better experience with other companies I located on my own performing the same service. I'm sure Universal would be fine doing furnance maintenance/repair in the home you live in. I will not use them for my rental again.

I used an Angie's List Big Deal coupon for the service. My furnace is only two years old and I wasn't having any issues, just wanted a maintenance check. Everything was fine, their guy arrived right when they said he would and took about a 1/2 hour. He was courteous and professional, and answered a few questions I had at the end.

UM called and provided an extensive update of what they did to get the hot water heater working again. The time spent talking to me and the attention to detail was much appreciated.

Serviceman arrived on time for the appointment to check and clean the heating furnace. Filters were installed, valves checked and cleaned in a very professionall manner.

On time, friendly service, quick, on budget - what more could i ask for.

We were very pleased with the service we received from Rhett. He was running a few minutes late for the appointment but called to let us know. He checked all the components in the furnace and explained that a couple of parts will need to be replaced within the next couple of years. Our furnace was installed in 1997 so that was expected. He cleaned all the filters and air cleaner. We're finding that the furnace is working much better and the air flow is improved throughout the house. He is going to have the company send us a quote on the replacement of the furnace which is something we had been considering. If we need any further furnace service, we would definitely consider Universal Mechanical Services.

Rhett came as promised (15 minutes late, however) and got right to work. It took him only half an hour or so to complete the job. He noted the dates of manufacture and installation, told me he found nothing of major concern in the performance of the furnace, cleaned the filter and recommended that it be cleaned 2-3 times yearly. He was professional, courteous, and went straight to work.

It was easy to schedule the service appointment. I was provided the technician's contact number and told to expect a call the day of the service. The technician showed up on-time, was professional, informative, and very competent. He did not try to upsell any services and provided professional assessment of the life remaining on my furnace. He then proceeded to completed the service detailed above. The whole service took just under an hour. My furnace is running well and have had no issues since his visit.

They didn't return the first phone message I left. I waited almost a week. That time they responded quickly but I had to wait over two months for the appointment. It would have been much longer for me to get my preferred beginning of day time slot. I actually tried to contact Angie's list to cancel the appointment but wasn't successful in getting any response (admittedly, I didn't try very hard). The servicewas fine. The technician was very nice and professional, although an hour late. It turns out he was leaving my house - just inside the southern Seattle city limits - to his next appointment in Woodinville. So the problem may just be the front desk/who ever does the scheduling. But I can't imagine I'd call them again.

The tech showed up as scheduled and on time to perform the service, and was professional, personable, and finished the work in about 30 minutes as estimated. I had known previously that my furnace will need to be replaced (it is 35 years old), and I asked for his honest opinion about how urgent the situation was. While admitting that a furnace this age can "go" at any time, he thought it would be okay through the rest of this winter but recommended I plan to replace it before the fall. This gives me some time to plan for it. He also gave me some information about new furnace technology (dual stage, etc) and told me that a newer furnace will be much more effiicient and that I could probably go with a smaller unit than I currently have given the size of my home. His company is going to send me some estimates. I appreciated the service and the information and would consider working with them again.

Technician was delayed about 30 minutes, but called before our appointment time to let us know he was running late, so I really didn't mind at all. The service itself was very quick (about an hour for cleaning and servicing both the furnace and heat pump. Technician was very professional and told us about some parts that would probably fail in the next few years, but were okay for now.

The tech arrived on time and was knowlable and pleasant,he checked out the unit,changed the filter and informed me the furnace was working fine.There was no upsell or pressure.The furnace was on the newer side so replace is not due for another 10 years etc.

Overall went well. Tech was very professional and informative. Arrived promptly at appt time. Was efficient and thorough (as far as I could tell). the company had a difficulttime in scheduling the service time in a timely fashion. Took 3 mo. to have them come out. and even at that they wanted to reschedule due to a conflic on a somewhat short notice. When I asked we keep the origional appt, they figued out a way for keeping the origiional appt. I think they are honest but overbooked.

Basically, they did good service. They were responsible. They were good about contacting you and letting you know when they would be there. They showed up on time and gave me good, prompt service for a fair price. They're very reliable.

We responded to an Angie's list promotion in October, and because it was a popular promotion, we were scheduled three months into the future; thus the 'responsiveness' grade is low. Our furnace was having an ignition issue, so in the interim, we managed to find help online and resolved that issue ourselves. We kept the appointment for the tune-up anyway, and the technician was knowledgeable, polite and prompt. We mentioned our ignition issue and how we had resolved it, at which point he offered his awareness of the issue we had resolved and another common issue with our particular model, along with the simple steps we could take to diagnose and resolve that issue. Despite the wait time, we feel we got a great deal and great service.
