The technician was late, but apologized and got right to work. He explained what he was doing and why. He very thoroughly checked all serviceable components of the furnace and answered questions I had about the white substance around the exhaust ductwork. He gave me some recommendations for filter replacement and possible additional insulation in the area around the furnace, since it is in an outside closet. He never pressured me for additional servicing (which I have experienced from previous service companies) or upgrades to my system. I now have peace of mind going into the winter season. I highly recommend this company and their professional employees.

The guy did good work and he was an absolute jack ass. He told me he was quitting the company and moving to eastern Washington and I'm thinking to myself, "Good" He kept telling me about how he hated people in the city and he hated Seattle and that's all he did was talk about how much he hated the area. He hated, hated, hated everything. He told me that he was moving to south central Spokane on an acreage where he doesn't have to be bothered with anybody and I thought, "Well, this company is going to be a whole lot better off without you." I had to put up with that guy's garbage. He didn't have the right furnace filter which I thought was interesting. He said, "Oh! I'm not carrying that one. I'm all out. You will have to wait and I'll give it to you but if I forget here is my phone number." He forgot and I had to call him. He was packing to leave the town. The price was good.

The service turned out fine. There was a little bit of an issue where first of all they nearly did not have availability for about a month after the deal was offered. They were supposed to come out on Friday, but then the guy was apparently sick. So, they just came out yesterday and did the service. There were no additional charges to the big deal. This was my first time to use them. They were very upfront on communication. So, they contacted me to let me know when the service person was originally going to be late. When they did not show up, they contacted me immediately to reschedule it. The person that came out was a very friendly person. He was very quick and efficient in doing the work that the he was brought out there to do, and they did a good job. With the original appointment being delayed, then cancelled, and rebooked and when the actual date came where he came out yesterday, he was very punctual and on time, but their punctuality is C for not being able to meet the original appointment.

The heater would not hold temperature. The technician found the problematic part and replaced it with success.

Rhett from Universal Mechanical Service came out promptly to do the maintenance on my AC unit and furnace. He was professional and friendly. I was told the heat exchangers were cracked and he provided a proposal for a new furnace. We are in the process of deciding on which company for the replacement of the unit, but I appreciate Rhett's follow ups. I would use them again for maintenance.

It Didn't. I think I might call/email Angies List and ask for my money back.

Seemed to go well except after he left, I noticed he hadn't vacuumed up all the soot around the furnace that had collected over time. All other companies included that in the service. I also noticed that according to the checklist of things the deal included, he did not install a MERV 8 pleated air filter. I didn't think to ask at the time so am not sure it would apply to any furnace. Since the price was so reasonable, I'm satisfied and would use them again.

They did a good job. They were very thorough and knowledgeable. They did what they said they were going to do and charged what they said they were going to charge.

Prompt and professional inspection of furnace. Because of the age of the furnace, provider recommended replacement next year and provided recommendations for cost, etc.

The workmen were courteous and efficient. Fortunately the problem ended with a very simple fix - a siding contractor who had done work on the house several months before had turned off the heat pump switch, resulting in several months of very inefficient heat generation. The next day, we had Universal Mechanical come back to do a thorough check of the entire furnace system using an Angie's List Special Deal. They did an excellent job. We would have preferred having the troubleshooting serviceman do the entire inspection in one visit, but we were advised that the jobs required different personnel.

It took awhile to get an appointment, because they didn't contact me. I contacted them, and from then on, everything went smoothly. I got an appointment within a week of calling. The provider came on time, took care of the job in a timely manner, gave me a summary of the condition of my furnace. Very smooth.

It worked out fine we didn't have a problem. They did the maintenance at a cheaper cost than our usual companies. We no are no longer in their area so we can't call them back.

The service was good. They came out, looked at it and did a tune up. It took a little bit of time because they were booked out for a week. They were really straightforward. They didn’t try and sell any other thing which was nice. It was a big deal purchase. It took a little bit of time to get to see them. The scheduler was really good about getting back to me.
