First. They were asked to do one thing only. They were asked to remove the vinyl floor covering so that my handyman could inspect the flooring underneath. Yet they went way beyond that and then asked my handyman to sign a document giving them permission to do what they had not been asked to do. He wisely declined to sign it. Second. They cut a hole in the wall to remove a water stained section which had to be patched. Third. They disassembled cabinets instead of just moving them. The cabinets showed some water stains that could be painted over. Their actions made us uncertain if the cabinets could be reassembled. Fourth. They tore up flooring and subflooring. It is hard to tell what was really water damaged due to their actions. Most often the subflooring is fine and does NOT need to be removed. Getting the replacement subflooring to be level can take two days or more. This is very important in order for the flooring and vinyl to lay flat. Plus they left staples and nails sticking up that needed to be removed and strangely they left a small piece of vinyl in place for my handyman to remove. Fifth. When they removed the hot water tank they damaged the lower heating element. Because they didn’t call the plumber who installed it, their removal is not covered by his warranty. So I had to pay for the damage caused by Paul Davis. It ended up costing me $500 more than the insurance was willing to pay to fix their mess. Plus another $350 for fixing the hot water tank.

It was the worst experience of my life. We waited for over a month and a half to just get the carpet replaced. It took several calls and emails just to get them back out to the house to get that installed. Once that was finally installed and the next 2 and a half months were spent on missed days of not showing up to work on the bathroom or the wrong material was shipped out to the house and the installers would pull off the job. The project manager was fired on the 2nd month because he continued to make promises he wouldn't keep. I found that information out from the supply house that our material for this project was purchased through.
We had items that were taken from our home. The only reason I caught them as quickly as I did was because I decided to do some of the install myself because I was tired of waiting. I had to file a police claim for the stolen tools that were taken from my home. When I asked the Project Manager and Owner of the company to just get in touch with the person that was working at my house and return the items, they opted to have me give them a full discription of the tools missing and they would go purchase new. Once those items were removed from my home I opted to finish all the trim work myself as I didn't trust having this company in my home any longer.
Billing was a complete joke as I was sent 5 seperate bills in one week for the first half of the project and I couldnt even get someone out to start the install. This was after they received full payment for the insurance portion of work that they hadn't completed yet. 5 months after the job was signed off on they realized they never sent me a bill for the final portion of the job.

The insurance company had Paul Davis Restoration and Remodeling come out and take care of the job. I didn't pick them and the insurance company paid them but I was very pleased with their responsiveness and their quality of work. They got things done fast and done well.

THEY WERE FAIRLY EASY TO DEAL WITH BUT I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE QUALITY OF THEIR WORK AND THE SUBS THEY USED. THEY TRIED TO COME BACK OUT AND FIX THE SHOTTY WORK BUT WITHOUT RIPPING IT OUT AND STARTING OVER I DON'T THINK IT COULD BE FIXED. IT IS STILL SUB-PAR.
Response from PAUL DAVIS RESTORATION & REMODELING
"This job was completed in August of 2003. The owners signed a certificate of satisfaction, paid their bill and were provided a 5 year warranty on the work. They never had us come back to address any issues of dissatisfaction."
