Sales person was great. The guy who worked up the schematics of our house, also great. Customer Service manager, absolutely terrible. He doesn't return calls and you must physically find him in the store or else good luck getting any assistance. Whoever is in charge of making installation appointments, also very non-chalant with their job. Installers showed up 9 hours late, and only after my wife called 5 times to finally get an answer. If you can find a comparable product at a different store, I would use them.

I worked with the salesman Keith for several weeks trying to pick tile for our major remodeling project. He was very helpful in suggesting tile for the project. Each time we looked at a tile, Keith would give me the contractors price for the tile so I could tell how the budget for tile was going. The tile chosen and the price per tile were all listed on a piece of notebook paper which I was asked to sign in case I changed my mind. I was assured I would only be charged for the tile needed to complete the project. Because I was not directly hiring them, I did not receive an actual written bid from them. The remodeling project was far behind schedule and the tile ended up being installed while I was out of town. The tile in every room except the master bathroom is beautiful. The kitchen back splash is particularly well done. Sadly, the master bathroom is a different story. The tile in the bathroom is a 4x8 cream subway tile. It is beautifully installed and would be wonderful if the bullnose tile had been the same color as the field tiles. The installer did not notice the tiles for the bullnose edge were a different shade than the field tiles. It makes a beautiful bathroom look terrible. I complained to the contractor, who spoke to Great Floors and was told nothing could be done. He said it was a common problem but it could not be corrected now the tile was installed. When I asked why the installer had not checked it before installing, I was told he didn't notice. Then the bill came. It was much higher than expected. We were charged more for each type of tile than was quoted on the paper from Keith. I was also charged for much more tile than was needed. As an example, the project required one 8 inch piece of double bullnose tile. We were charged for 4 linear feet of tile or over $46 dollars for that one tile. I have now contacted the tile company, Ann Sachs, directly and they are having matching bullnose tile shipped to me. I will then be paying someone else to remove the tile that does not match and install the new tile. This is very frustrating since I just paid Great Floors $10,000 to do the job. The poor ratings are all based on the problems with the bathroom tiles, the prices not matching what was quoted and the excessive amount of tile ordered for the job.
Description of Work: Great Floors was hired by my contractor, Adam Laneer, to install all of the tile in our renovation project. They installed new tile on the fireplace, kitchen back splash, laundry room floor and master bathroom.

It was fine. They did pretty much what they promised. We have a deadline and we told them that we needed it done by a certain date and apparently they have to order the carpets in some place of the country so we have postponed it a little bit but it still worked out so it was good. The sales people were good, too.

When I went to the contractor with the problem, he told me that he had issues with this sort of thing with this woman before. I ended up paying an extra $500 out of pocket. He didn't offer to help me pay any of that extra money or anything, even though he had recommended her. She never called me. She only called the contractor about the extra cost.
Description of Work: I had hired a contractor, which I had bad experience with. I went to Great Floors because he recommended I go there, and he recommended a particular sales woman as well. I explained to her what my budget was for my flooring. She assured me that I would be taken care off. A month later I realized the floor cost double what she promised me it would be. The problem was, the floor was already installed, and it was too late.

They had friendly staff and they came when they said and finished it. They did a great job. I wouldn’t give them any negative feedback.

From the minute we walked into Great Floors we received excellent service and a desire to work with us. Our sales person (Pat Ward) had all the patience in the world for us as we tried colors and materials for our home (the decision making stage for us was over 60 days). A significant number of times I changed my mind about previous decisions. Throughout all, Mr. Ward was patient, agreeable and very helpful. He didn't attempt to show us only high end materials, yet the overall cost of the job was less than what two of the other stores (one being a big box store) quoted us. When asked questions about which product was better than another, he provided fairly objective information. He didn't express his opinions about the various color choices we were making (particularly about floors and counters), yet was ready to provide his opinions when asked directly about colors and their matches. The crews that he sent for installation were pleasant, punctual and skillful. We had to recall one of them for a minor adjustment, and they revisited us very quickly and made the needed adjustment. Mr. Ward has a great many years of experience in the flooring field, and he shared some of his insights with us as we made decisions about materials. We trusted what he told us, and the results in our home are excellent.
Description of Work: We have a 2,000 sq. foot home. We replaced all floors with either carpeting, manufactured wood product and vinyl. All counter tops were also replaced.

I went to three different stores to pick up all my products. It was about $6500 for tiles, granite and all the stuff. The manager at Great Floors helped me pick everything up. They provided excellent service. They argued with me when what I wanted didn’t match. They came to my home and showed me what was appropriate. They weren’t afraid to tell me how the market worked and I could pick my tiles, but they told me that it didn’t look right together. They tried to help me get the synchronization. They provided the skill set that I didn’t have by making the right recommendation, arguing with me and then coming to my house to show me how everything would be laid out. They helped me finalize so that the actual contractors could come and do their job. Great Floors is a big store. George was the assistant manager. I went to their store in October because the first couple of contractors couldn’t do their job. I walked into several stores, but Great Floors was the best. Everything about the experience was positive including the way they talked to me and the recommendations they had. They were very willing to help complete my project, picked up my materials and made recommendations. They were really great. They helped me finish the downstairs which is about 800 square feet of tile and another 800 square feet of floors. So, I would like to get all my carpets for upstairs this year; that’s how great the experience was. George was excellent. He was very professional, compassionate, willing to go above and beyond for his clients. Then the insurance didn’t deliver the money on time. So, he allowed the tile guys to take all the tiles and lay everything out before anything was paid. They hadn’t been paid for 30 days. However, they said that was okay and asked us to take the tiles based on the tile guy’s reputation. The way the insurance was handling everything, it was taking way too long to get the money as well. Great Floors was very good.

The price was right. Everything was handled well. Their installer was a freelancing installer who contracts with them. I don't remember his name. They did not have a great variety of selection to choose from. I just took whatever I got and it was great.

THEIR INSTALLATION CREW WAS VERY POOR. IT'S A SITUATION WHERE THEY AGREED TO COME BACK TO DO WORK THAT WAS BELOW STANDARD, BUT THEY WERE SUCH LITTLE THINGS THAT IT'S NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE FOR THEM TO COME BACK TO FIX THEM. THEY'RE IRRITATING, BUT NOT TERRIBLE.
