TERRIBLE.. The problems began alomost immediately. We had selected Baer Piant and a grayish color that matched out hthe cedar siding on our house. He began painting the largest outbuilding and when I saw the color I immediately stopped him. The color was a pinkish beige and it was paint not semi-transparent stain. He had decided to use a different paint and Heaven only knows where he found the color. He had to pressure wash and acid wash the building to get the color off and the wood is now "rough cut" rather than smooth cedar from the abuse. When they moved to the house, they used the correct stain but left overspray on the roof, on most of the boldings on the windows, on the brick walkways, etc. I did not see all of the overspray until after I had fired him so I let him continue on the interior (HUGE MISTAKE). Thye told us they were rolling and brushing the interior since I would not agree to another five days totally maked into our house (I even had to take a box knife and cut my way out of a dog door to get an exit - wher I discovered they had also covered over our heat pumps with plastic and almost burned them up. They spent days masking the three of the bedrooms and one bathroom of the house. They then proceeded to paint and it was like the Keystone Kops. There wer three or four painters and they never would finish a room. They had some of each bedroom painted and some paint done in the bathroom and the hall. They did not spackle any nail holes in the walls or even remove a hanging clock butjust taped around it. After a number of days, I lost my patience, especially when they were leaving at 2:00 p.m. with the work 1/2 done. I confonted the owner and he said they would finish the next day. The next day, two gentlemen appeared who really were painters and they finished everything in about five hours. However, when the masking tape and paper was removed, there was paint left on much of the woodwork, on the tile floor in the bathroom and on the carpeting. In addition, the windows were a mess. If that was not bad enough, he tried to charge us for the extra work removing the paint from the building, $1200 for rolloing instead of spraying the interior, $600 extra for painting the gutters, which were preformed and already the color of the house. These are only a few of the problems and on top of it all he was dishonest. In order to try and get me to pay for the wrong paint, he claimed it was the right color and went to Home depot, order 15 gallons of the corect paint (the day after I fired him) and drove up to my house and gave it to me. He then picked up the twenty two galloons of remaining paint (claimed it was for his next job). The paint he left, had the labels mostly scratched off but part of a label was stuck to the handle and I confirmed with Home Depot that it was made one hour before he tried to claim it was the paint he had bought two weeks before. I have never dealt with such a dishonest and poor painter. But he came recommended on Angie's List and I can only assume that he worked on new construction where quality did not matter. AND NO SENIOR DISCOUNT NO MATTER WHAT HE CLAIMS - MY EXPERIENCE CAN BE BACKED UP BY THE INTERIOR DESIGNER WE USED. The list of problems is not complete but space limits me from saying more.
