An appropriate replacement stair was provided and carefully installed. The politeness and courtesy of the skilled installers was simply outstanding. The custom work in fitting the stairs to the existing attic opening was a marvel of workmanship. The cleanup of the area was extremely thorough. We would hire GMG again without hesitation. We highly recommend!

When Ballard came out to give an estimate, he was very nice and knew his business. We noticed he did not take notes and said we would get the estimate in a week. After 2 weeks I emailed to ask for the estimate, and was told it would come that weekend. Another 2 weeks went by and I finally got it after yet another email. The estimate was missing some items. After all this we felt we were not valued customers and went with another company.

Super pretty job done Ballard and his men are all very. Nice and respectful felt very comfortable having them in my home we will use again in the future

Ballard McFarlane of GMG Construction is an amazing Contractor. He generated awesome ideas, his respectful and clean team showed up every day, they finished my project on time, and even came in under bid! His amazing communication skills helped me resolve several problems with the contractor that did work before him. It seemed like he and his team were always going the extra mile. They fixed the foundation on the shed and a few other random jobs. They did a very good job. Good quality of work and the workers were all really good.

Wife called and left a voicemail for the company to set up time for a bid...never heard anything back. Very disappointing considering the reviews for this companies work.

On March 29th, I made an appointment March 29th for May 12th. The site visit went well. The estimator was friendly and knowledgeable, made some good suggestions, and asked the right questions. The problem is that they never followed through. On April 21st, I sent an email asking after the estimate. I received the following: "I’m so sorry about the wait. [The Estimator} has been making the most of the good weather and has been in the field long hours. I should have it for you in the next day or two. Thank you for your patience." As of the 28th I still have not heard back. I very much feel as if my time was wasted by coordinating and attending the visit.

We declined and the monies pre-paid were refunded. I am giving the benefit of the doubt to this provider since he did not do the work. We were able to complete the repairs for a total of less than $1000.

Great communication, prompt, hours well accounted for. Well-trained and versatile team. Daily clean-up and haul away of waste materials. Responsive to changes to the work order that I made on the fly. WE'LL HAVE GMG CONSTRUCTION BACK THIS SPRING AND SUMMER FOR MORE PROJECTS. THEY HAVE EARNED IT

It went very, very well, and I had so much more peace of mind when he was finished. A lot of work ahead to stabilize the situation, but as soon as it is stabilized (and we've had a few rainstorms to make sure it's permanent!) I'm going to have Ballard out to completely finish the project.

We had another contractor turn a room that was tacked on to the back of our house in the 1930's into a laundry and half bath. That project went way, way over budget, so I stopped before the siding was put on. Enter GMG Construction. I had bought an Angie's list deal, and after considering two other projects decided to use the deal to finish the exterior of the room (which was covered with roofing shingles) GMG responded, indicating the work could be done within the labor I had already purchased, plus materials. I am glad I listened to their advice about siding. They recommended, and installed, lapped Hardie siding. The person who did the work clearly had done a lot of siding work before, and he took pains to do a really nice job. The project went very well, completed in the time estimated. GMG went above and beyond and carried the siding all the way down to ground level (partly below an existing deck). Additional flashing was installed and they even bolted a corner of the deck that had warped (Not part of the project but a very nice surprise) And they finished a part of the underside of this room (which spans the stairs to the scary basement). The siding looks great even though I have not gotten around to painting it. The primer color is pretty close to the paint color we already had. All that said, it was a great experience and I am looking forward to using GMG for future projects (as I can afford them, aren't old houses just so much fun??)

The job went great. Shannon spent practically the whole week working with me doing carpentry, millwright, laborer, and even a bit of mechanical work. He took on every task and got it done with speed and accuracy. Ballard even came out to help with the mechanical work. Was so thankful that GMC was so flexible and helped me when I needed the help.

GMC was contracted to help complete and finish/reassemble our kitchen. We had stripped the walls and cabinets down to the raw framing and relocated electrical for relocation of appliances. They were contracted to re-hang a door, drywall the room along with an associating hallway, and install cabinets along with a farm sink. Per the contact, work started while we were home but continued while we were away for a few days. The owner of the business met with us, knew the scope of work we needed and understood our quality expectations meaning we wanted to maintain the existing 1920's appearance and didn't want to us MDF materials. He ensured us he and his team could complete the work exceeding our expectations. We later learned he would be out of town a day or two during the time the work was completed. When we returned, the work had been completed but didn't meet our expectation. There are some things contractors should know better.....such as and inch wide stripe of calking does not hide the fact that you didn't align the molding correctly and installing a sink in front of a window the sing drain should be center to the window - not offset as it was. In the end about 80% of the work his team completed had to be redone for one reason or another. We decided to not approached the owner because we believed if we had been home and he had been around to supervise is crew, most of these issues would not have occurred. If I was to ever share with his worker anything, quality does matter to many people they need to complete the work as if it was their home - every day. For us the biggest learning lesson is something everyone should know.....NEVER have contractors in your home when your not there to monitor their progress. I will point out there were no integrity issues with the workers it was merely their workmanship while unsupervised by us.

The hours needed to complete the job far exceeded the estimate and I was not alerted at the time. Apparently there was a misunderstanding between the description of one of the tasks on the estimate and what I understood it to mean added on top of the actual time needed to perform the task. Regardless, I did not think the cost to me for extra hours was justified and negotiated to pay for only half of those extra hours. The contractors did a fantastic job at keeping the dust to a minimum inside the house, but because it was November and raining, they had to cut the tile in the garage and did not hang up plastic sheeting to protect the interior from all the dust. Granted its a garage, but the dust was excessive. Everything was coated. The owner did come to clean up garage, but hard to get all that fine dust.

The work they did was really attractive and it was fun working with them. I've sinse had another contractor in and they made a serious mistake. They were using Epay. When Epay is cut it needs to be sealed at the cut or else it spreads the moisture. They didn't seal it, so I don't think they knew how to work with it. They are very nice people.

The owner Ballard is very responsive since the first time we contacted him to schedule for an estimate, and until the last day of the project. His crew Jason and Shannon are very punctual, and arrived exactly at 8 am as they said they would. They did a beautiful job on the window frames and trims. They were very careful and did not damage anything, and the finished work is excellent. It was very easy to communicate with all 3 of them, and they are all very polite and very informative too. We purchased a deal that they had going on from Angie's List which included 40 hours of labor for $1899, excluding tax and materials. They worked for 2 days because they had 3 people working the first day, and 2 people worked the 2nd day. Originally, we had more things on the list for them to take care of, but when they opened up the damaged wall in the dining room, they discovered that the damage was much more extensive than they had expected, which took up more time than originally thought. So we were not able to have everything on the list fixed. Nevertheless, they tried to meet our expectations to finish as much work as possible in the 40 hours. They cleaned up really well after the work was completed.

It did not go very well. The contractor who runs the company was very optimistic and positive and we liked that about him and we thought that was nice. But what he said did not happen especially what was stated in the deal regarding the time. He ended up rushing it and the result was a croppy job. There were times that the worker will be gone for three hours only to find out that he did some work with another client. It took them also hours to be back when they brought things to the dump which is only about 2 miles away from my house. He is not trustworthy. I was upset with him. The job quality was not that good too. It cost me more than the big deal and he even charged the hours that they were not here working. I even had to call home depot for some work because they took a day off. Their service was really frustrating. The Angie?s List deal was great but the hours after that was not great. It was fine it?s just the communication on what could be done in the price was the issue. His responsiveness was fine and he was a jolly fellow but his being service oriented was questionable. He was not even receptive to my questions.

It was ok. They showed up on time. They were here during the hours that they said they would. They returned calls. The contractor was responsive and on site daily.

Originally I was waiting for him to be there around 4:30 pm, at 5:30 pm I sent him a text and at 6:30 pm he text me he was leaving from Seattle. I scheduled for the next day for him to come out since it had already been 2 hours and I could not wait any longer. He said he would get me the proposal the next day. I never got the proposal and ask him if he was going to get me the proposal. He responded saying he was on vacation with his family and could not get me the proposal. So, I decided to not go with this company because communication is very important to me.

Ballard and his crew are amazing. They work hard and efficiently and I never saw them waste a minute of time. I don't think the word "no" is in Ballard's vocabulary! I have been saving up for 6 years to make some changes in my house but was very nervous on selecting a contractor to do my projects. We've all heard horror stories on hiring general contractors and I am so lucky to have selected GMG Construction. Ballard is available all hours of the day to answer any questions I might have, the quality of their work is outstanding and they make the process fun. I would never hesitate to recommend GMG Construction for any work you may have.

Good, had to have them come back to redo a small area, which they did immediately, Left the area clean!

Could have done a better job with doors. Cut doors, hatch not built as instructed. Just mediocre.

He met with us as soon as possible, and was able to get things done to meet our real estate sale timeline. He did a thorough and complete job, much of it in a crawl space.

They came out and spent a lot of time going over things. I had structural complications that kept them from being able to do the work. They did a great job and have great communication skills. I could tell he was really listening to my needs as a consumer. He has guys working for him but he did the talking and the follow ups. He is non aggressive and always handled the callbacks.

I can't say enough good things about GMG Construction. We told Ballard in the beginning our budget and what we wanted done. He allowed us to purchase all of the materials to save money. He recommended places to get windows and the tub refinished rather than having him do it as well, again keeping us in our budget. The quality of their work was top notch. They cleaned up daily and had good attention to detail. I would easily hire GMG Construction again.
