Ken Harris with Bodine Construction showed up exactly on time. He was cordial, professional, and went straight to work evaluating the foundation cracks in various areas. He also did a walk-through of all 3 levels of the house to look for any evidence of unusual settling of the foundation. He verbally expressed his opinion that the cracks were most likely caused by a cold joint resulting from separate concrete pours, and were not a serious concern. One day later we received a formal letter expressing this opinion in writing. Several days after the inspection, we still hadn't received an invoice so we contacted the company. We were told the inspection was and quot;on the houseand quot; and there would be no charge. We were quite surprised (and thankful) for this, since Ken Harris was at the site for at least an hour on this job. We are very impressed with this company.

They were on time and very professional. They had to dig underneath the house and put in drainage pipe which was a big job. They did quality work and were very efficient. They were all knowledgeable and up front with me.

Steve Bodine, the owner, came out to see the yard and assess the problem. He was likeable and knowledgeable, and didn't seem out to gouge us or do more service than we could afford. He offered a variety of solutions at different prices. We chose to have the yard aerated and sanded, and some drains put in.
The work was done on time and they did a good job in the back. Next time it rained we did not have a standing water problem.
The problem was our front lawn, which does not have a drainage problem because it is sloped. Even though we did not want it done (and it was not on the estimate/proposal), they aerated and sanded our front lawn, too. When my husband called about it, they told him they'd and quot;thrown it in for freeand quot; because they had extra sand. Now sections our front lawn are dying. We've raked it twice to get some of the sand out, but the heavily sanded patches are completely brown and dead, in spite of watering every other day, and every day for two weeks. We normally don't water in summer (water bills) but we've had to do that in an effort to make the sand go down into the soil, and also to bring back the places that are completely brown. Our lawn is a patchwork of green and dead. It's ruined.
So even though we liked Steve, and they did a good job on the back yard at a fairly reasonable price, we would hesitate to use them again because they sanded the heck out of our front lawn without asking us first, and now we are stuck with lawn problems that they created for us. We'll have to spend extra money trying to bring the lawn back, all because of a and quot;freeand quot; service we didn't want in the first place.

UPDATE: We contacted Steve Bodine about the front lawn problem, and two days later a Bodine truck pulled up, put fertilizer and grass seed on the dead areas, at no charge to us. Our lawn is growing back. We still have to water it every day till the seed fills in, but we are satisfied with their response.

The owner Steve came out and diagnosed our problem which was a simple obstructed drain pipe that our downspout connected to. Initially, we were under the impression that we would need to do a costly repair installing a large section of footing drain around our house. Steve did not try to sell us extra work, which he easily could have as we were convinced we needed a large repair. He recommended a much simpler repair which has been effective for the last two seasons. He also spent a lot of time advising us on other strategies we could follow to avoid moisture problems in our basement. Very professional and honest.

Found the company through Angie's list and had them come out for estimation. The poor drainage around out house had led to some washing out of ground and sinking of concrete slabs. After the estimate was completed, we set the repair work, all work was done in two days and very professional group of staff and provided excellent work.

Years ago, I kept having consistent backup problems. I tried all sorts of plumbing companies come out, charge up the you know what, and not solve the problem. Bodine was able to address the back ups and install a clean out valve. Since then they regularly jet out the line, which probably should be replaced as it is old and saggy apparently. Replacement would be a big deal due to a mature cherry tree, so this is the next best thing - regular jetting. The great thing is no more backups.

Everything went well. See above, The cost was a bit more than the estimate but the estimate provided that if hidden problems were encountered, the cost could be more which I believe is a wise way to present an estimate. I bleieve that Jim climbing into the hole was more than they counted on so I have no problem with the increased cost. The total cost stated above was divided into 4 so the service was reasonable in my opinion.

They were awesome. They came 3 or 4 times prior to doing the work to make sure everything was setup the way they thought it was. They had two men on the job everyday that they worked. They worked really hard. They did a lot of digging manually. They did a lot of follow up afterwards. I haven't had any problems with the wet basement since then. I would have preferred if they were cheaper which would have been possible considering the work they did. They were always busy so I had to wait my turn. They were here when they said they would be. They did a good job. I would use them again in the future.

They were very professional, and their price was incredibly competitive. All of their employees could communicate with me, and they were clean in appearance. This project was extensive, and I really appreciated that they worked around us best they could. They worked hard to ensure everything went as smoothly as possible, I would recommend them to anyone needing their expertise.

I'm very happy with the work, I would use these guys again in a heart beat. They were easy to communicate with and kept me informed throughout the 4-week process. They were able to offer up creative solutions to areas around the house where water naturally pooled. I had another company pouring the driveway and they couldn't figure out how to deal with a low point near the front door where water would pool because of the slope of my lot. The solution the other concrete company came up with would have made the situation worse and Bodine called me the day of the pour to alert me to the situation and offer up an immediate solution to remedy the situation. They also brought in new rock and bark returning the yard to it's previous condition. Overall, great attention to detail, and the level of craftsmanship would you expect from a company of this caliber, truly professional work.

Had Steve Bodine come out for the initial inspection on the house before I even bought the place. We spent a good couple hours looking over some weeping stairs (mid summer) and trying to get an understanding of the existing drain system built around the house. He quoted removing the stairs, finding the footer drain, then blowing out the whole system, inspecting via remote camera and rebuilding the stairs. Prior to rebuilding we planned on going over the inspection report and planning/quoting the results of that. In addition I asked if they could replace some damaged siding and he was able to quote that. I called them back up the day after we closed on the house and started scheduling the repair work. I didn't live in the house at the time so some coordination was needed to allow them access to the basement. As the start of the work approached i never did get a call to coordinate that part, when i called into the main office i would get told they would call back later in the day. this went on a couple of days and finally one of their foreman called me back. From that point on it was frequent and quick communication with the foreman and they got the siding off and replaced quickly as well as demoed the stairs. They cleaned and inspected the footer system. The report took longer to get to me then i expected and calls to the main office were again not returned in the time frame i was told. However, once they did the report and sent it over i was in contact with the operations side and the communication was much better. They were able to answer questions and quoted the additional repairs needed. I scheduled the repair work as well. Their crew came out and started work on Monday and had it closed back up by Tuesday. Very impressive considering they rerouted all the downspouts in the house to a new drain pipe and then ran that to the drainage ditch. They also rebuild a portion of the footer drain that ran near the demoed stairs and prepped the area for a new pouring of the stairs. A couple of days later they came back and poured the stairs and they look great as well as drain properly now. When i compared the repair plan to what I could see around the house i found some discrepancies. I called back the office and managed to get a quicker response this time. They had routed pipes different from the plan, but in a way i would have expected prior to the report (ie underneath a deck instead of all the way around). They sent someone out to double check all the work done and updated the paperwork so that I had a good set of As Built drawings to reference in the future. They provide a great warranty for work done as well as returned the yard as they found it. They replaced any plants that were removed to place the new pipes and disrupted as little as possible. Only time will tell how the drainage works, but we're half way through the winter with not problems manifesting yet and plenty of rain to test it out.

Steve Bodine came out and talked with me about the options I had concerning my project. Since the culvert is on Snohomish County land, there were restrictions about what we could and could not do. He gave me several options, was knowledable and professional. I received the bid in a couple of days. I accepted the bid and they said that they would start the permit process. I got a call from Mike in a couple of weeks that the county had changed their mind about which permit they wanted. He took the new paperwork in, and we had the permit in a week or so. I scheduled the job out for a couple of weeks. When nobody showed up on the appointed day, i called the office to find out why. I got a call back from Steve Bodine within 10 minutes. He said that because of the good weather, they had more jobs going than expected, and were running a little behind. I'm not in a rush, so not a big deal. They dropped off some material that day, and started work the following Monday. Dave has been the main guy on the job, assisted some days by a couple other workers. The work progressed at an uneven pace, but steady none the less. Dave agreed that they were streched thin from all the work that had come in. Several days he was here by himself. It took about 10 days to finish up everthing. That includes a couple of days that Dave got pulled to another site, as well as waiting for visits from the county inspector. The county asked Dave to address a couple different areas not included in or called for in the original plan. I laughed when he told me what the county wanted, but he was happy to comply, no questions asked. The job would have been done much quicker if Dave had a crew each day. For this situation, that was not a big deal. I must commend Dave on doing a great job. Everything looks great. I'm very happy with the finished project. Everybody I dealt with was friendly and professional. They returned calls quickly and expressed concern that I was getting what I wanted. I would use their services again.

Steve provided a detailed bid and his crew started the work on schedule. His price was higher than my two other bids, but he also seemed to present the best solution from an engineering perspective. At times during the project I wonder if communication amongst the crew and with me could have been better (i.e. I think *much* more dirt was excavated and then replaced than was necessary, and the cinder-block wall is not quite aligned with the location I had discussed with Steve), which gave me some anxiety, but at the end I am pleased with the result. Doing things like cutting out old protruding rebar and laying a vapor barrier over the remaining un-excavated portion of the basement were not necessarily expected, but much appreciated. For future similar projects I would again take competitive bids, but would not exclude Bodine from that cycle.

I have basement garage and the concrete driveway is about 15 ft long and down sloping. I had hired them to remove the old concrete, pour new concrete, and install a new drain system. One crew came and removed all the old concrete and piping. Another crew came that was going to install the new drainage system and concrete did not know how to install to the system that was supposed to be set up. I had to explain to them what they should do and eventually the foreman had to come out to correct the mistake.
