Description of Work: In late May, about 5/25, we conferred with Lowes to order Kitchen Backsplash materials and installation and a contract was drafted. Our initial discussions were with Joel, the Flooring Dept. Mgr. He sent out a measurer on 6/29 to survey the project and measure for mtls. required. We later went back to the store, (a round trip of 50 miles, which became necessary many times) to confirm our order, only to find that Joel was not there and another Dept. Mgr. assumed Joel’s duties.We discussed the order with him for about an hour finding that the measurer and Joel did not include all the things we had requested. Those problems were then solved and we were advised that we’d be required to pay for the contract before mtls. & Installation would be scheduled. On June 4, 2018, we paid for the whole project and were informed that the installation would be done on June 20. Not hearing anything more on 6/19, we called the store and were informed that the installation had NOT been scheduled as we had not picked up the materials yet. We had never been told that we’d be required to pick up the materials and had assumed that the installer would be doing this as a part of his service. We then went back to the store on 6/20 to pick up the materials and it took about an hour for many store employees to find the materials. It became quite obvious at this point why there had been so many problems with our order, THERE IS ALMOST ZERO COMMUNICATION BETWEEN LOWES EMPLOYEES. On June 20, 2018 we determined that we did not want Lowes to do the installation and the $902.87 was refunded to us. We then hired another installer who did an excellent job installing the backsplash for us.
