The Grout Doctor

Got this guy through the Angie's Deals. He was terrific. Did a beautiful job re-grouting the tub, would certainly hire again. Prompt, courteous and did a conscientious job.

Contractor came and went on his own as I was not present. Did a great job of cleaning up long-neglected grout (rental house).

John responded quickly to our request for a bid. He then scheduled the job, was there on time, worked efficiently and made our bathroom look new again!

We have some old (60's) bathrooms with tile shower and bath enclosure, and tile countertop which were very grungy. the grout doctor came on time and set right to work - and transformed the dirty, flaking tile surfaces into practically new condition. Wow! I was very happy, and hope to have him come again to regrout the countertop joints in the kitchen which has been breaking down. Not only was the work (which was considerable) done well, but the "doctor" was friendly and pleasant. I would happily recommend him to anyone who needed tile work done.

Went great. I sent an email from his website requesting a quote. He phoned me before end of day and gave me a quote. He was easy to schedule. Took him about 2 hours to do the work, and he explained lots of things to me as he went, which I like. Then I know more of how to care for things and such. Really nice guy. Shower looked great when he was done!

John Start is the owner and the only Grout Doctor franchise in the Seattle Metro area. He spent about 1/2 hour just talking with me about what needed to be done and any special attention I wanted made to problem spots. I really appreciated that. Then he worked an additional 2 hours to complete the job. He did a great job of cleaning and sealing the grout and recaulking my kitchen and master bathroom counters, my tub surrounds, and my shower. John is the owner of the only Grout Doctor franchise in the Seattle Metro area. He lives in Kirkland and goes everywhere in the Seattle Metro but says most of his work is on the Eastside. He says the work should probably be redone in 18 months to 2 years which is about now. I was very pleased and felt I got a great deal.

I hired John with Grout Doctor to reseal some tile in my 2 bathrooms and powder room downstairs as well as some grout repair. He was very professional and friendly during the estimate and work. He was prompt on both occasions and worked efficiently to get the work done. He also provided recommendations on the repairs as well as when to follow up in the future to maintain the seal on the tile. He also said to call him if there are any issues with the work in the near future. When I went to pay him he reminded me that there was a $30 off offer for Angies List customers (which I had totally forgot about and didn't print out) - Very Honest of him! I would recommend the Grout Doctor and will definitely hire again

I bought this service as a special from Angie's list. Love it! He was profession and did a wonderful job. The shower looks great. I would definitely use this provider again!!

The whole process went very well. John arrived on time and once started completed the job in a timely fashion which included cleaning up the site before he left. John was pleasant, professional, answered all my questions no matter how basic and and explained the process while he was working. He also offered an Angie's List discount which was available to the time and appreciated. I would use him again for this service.

We originally found this group through a GroupOn style coupon. They came and cleaned tile in my bathrooms, laundry room and one shower all for the price of the GroupOn. Getting grout cleaned can make a big difference. They were clean, quick and out before I knew it. Would use them again.

The sealing was included in the price of cleaning the grout, so there were not hidden costs involved, unlike another 'Big Deal' I later purchased to do my kitchen flooring. The person was knowledgeable and answered questions I had about grouting.

John was very polite, very quick to review our job, and got us on the schedule pretty quickly. I appreciated his recommendations for our grout cleaning. Unfortunately, the outcome of the work was not all good. While he did a good job cleaning mildew from our shower grout, after cleaning and repairing the grout around one of our toilets, it looks the same. The stains and hole in the grout remain. I asked him about it after he was done and he said that once it dries all should be good, but that was not the case. I should have called him to come look at it, but frankly, I just didn't want to hassle with it. I marked I would use them again, but that is because there isn't a choice for "unsure". As he as had excellent reviews, I might consider trying him one more time should the need arise.

He arrived late citing traffic as the delay. He was pleasant as I showed him where the showers were that I wanted done then he got to work. The actual work seemed to be fine but I wasn't too happy with the product he used to seal the grout. I've had this service done in the past and a more opaque product was used so it covered dark spots that have developed over the years. One area was dark when he left and he reassured me it would be white when it dried. It never has been white so I have an area that wasn't dark when he came but is now. I think he repaired some grout using a different color than the existing grout and tried to cover it with the sealant but it didn't work. He was nice enough but I would expect more professionalism in making sure he used the right materials in the first place instead of just making do with whatever he had on the truck.

John was very punctual, he arrived right on time. He was very friendly and helpful. He got right to work and did everthing he said he was going to do. He finished before the allotted time and cleaned up everything.I was very pleased with John's work and would use him again and have referred him to friends.

John is a very competent and focused tradesman. He arrived on time and provided a very fair price for the work I wanted to have done. The final look of our floors was sensational. He polished and sealed the grout and slate and did and outstanding job. He has been in this business for many years. During our discussions, he came across very professionally and provided me with an exact idea of what his process is and how to maintain the craftsmen look during my maintenance program. He was great to have in our house. He was respectful to our home and left after completing a job exceedingly well done.

I have used the Grout Doctor before and he was just as good as he was this time. He is professional, quick and does wonderful work for less than the competition. He made my bath tub grout work look just like new.

He arrived early, went right to work removing old caulk and scrubbing the grout. He did regrout the floor tile near the tub but left it kind of messy. Most of the grout was sparking clean except the area aroung the faucet and mixer. He didn't say anything about why or what could be done. He just packed up and left.
