The guy was good. He did the job well.

The area of concern, the tub caulking around the shower inset, was cleaned and replaced. It looked nice and bright and the area was bathroom area was left clean.

The work was done. I was not overly impressed with it. He did what they said they would do. I suppose that is what one should expect. When he got here, we went over what was covered and the estimate and the square footage that I had. His response was, there was an additional 40 square feet, I told him to go ahead and do it. The work in the master bathroom and the main bathroom was fine. The work in the kitchen was not cleaned as well. He charged me an additional $50 dollars for the extra 40 feet. I thought the big deal price was good. The cost for additional square footage was a little high. This was the owner of the company and he did what I thought was an okay job.

Really well. Split the job in two parts so we could have a place to bathe while the sealer was drying (48 hours). Hard to communicate by phone but email worked well.

Job went well overall. Tiles were sealed nicely.

He patched up some loose tiles, and he did do a good job. However, they are loose again. The cleaning was good, but the repair didn’t work.

The grout looked cleaner, but not 'like new' as we'd hoped.

Arrived on time for original appointment on Friday 5/10/2013 and immediately started working on the jobs at hand. Very pleasant and knowledgeable. Worked without interruption for four hours. When the job was completed we reviewed the work and he explained that there was always a possibility that some stains might re-appear by seeping through the grout as it dried. He instructed me to call him if any of this appeared and he would come out and remove and replace the stained grout. He added that this did not always happen and that it was impossible to predict. It did happen and we had several areas where the stains seeped through in the shower. I called him the following Monday morning, left a message and had my call returned the same day. He schedule the repair for the next afternoon. Again he was prompt (30 minutes early) and fixed the problem to my satisfaction as he said he would and without any charge. Now, after several days, the shower looks great and we are very pleased with his work. I would definitely refer to friends and family.

Setting up the appointment was easy and John was right on time to start. He did a very thorough cleaning of my tiled shower, bathroom floor and kitchen. He also replaced some of the grout and one of the tiles from my kitchen floor. He did a great job and recognizing which area was worth fixing and what other areas just needed some cleaning. My tile and grout is a bit old so it the cleaning didn't last as long as I had hoped but I think it's just because it needs to be redone. He did a great job cleaning it up and it looks better now than before!

Fantastic work. John was completely professional and friendly - so much so that I had no problem trusting him to do his work while we were out of the house. The tile and grout looked brand new when we got back home and the sealing has held up and kept the grout clean over the last year. Would absolutely use him again and intend to for some shower work in the future.

Our experience working with John was great! When he came to our home for our free quote he was right on time and was very professional. He gave us an exact quote and an approximate time it would take to complete the job. I was so impressed that I booked him on the spot. I'm also kind of particular when it comes to first impressions. He seemed very honest and trustworthy. A little over a week and half later John completed the work. Our shower looks incredible! I can't believe we didn't do this sooner! We were concerned that the holes in the grout would have caused some structural problems or mold growth but John did a thorough inspection and did not find anything suspicious. He assured us that the structure looked fine and the tile was still secure. The grout looks better than when we bought it new. In the kitchen we had discolored and cracked grout along the base of the backsplash. John fixed the areas of concern and it looks great. John was very punctual, knowledgable and clean. He arrived on time and left within 15 minutes of when he thought he would. The work was done very well with what seem like high quality products and he left both work areas clean at the end of the day. Overall we are very impressed with John's work and would use him again. I'm a firm believer in using contractors that specialize in something and you can tell that John has a ton of experience. To give readers an idea of cost we had john re-grout and caulk a standard "shub" (shower/tub) and repair kitchen backsplash grout. We did not ask him to seal the grout. That cost was $330. Well worth it! At that rate we should have done it every year!

We were not 100% happy with the service. He came out when he said he would and did a good job. He said it would be okay to do the seal work on the shower while it was still wet. However, it now has black mold. We now have to strip it to clean it. The floor was pretty good but I was not happy with the shower work. I did try to call them back to do more work before the mold incident but they did not call me back.

They did a fantastic job. On time and the shower has never looked better.

I purchased the big deal coupon for this service. The service went pretty well and he did a good job. I think the tile was a challenge but he did pretty good with it. I really didn’t have a whole lot to do with him. He just kind of came in and did the work. I was busy and so I didn’t talk so much. He was friendly enough and professional as well. It was all just fine. It wasn’t the outstanding or the most amazing job that I had ever seen, but it wasn’t bad either. It was good. He was good with responsiveness.

It's been awhile since I had this service done. I'd used Grout Doctor before for small jobs, he's very pleasant and willing to come back if need be. This time I got a "Big Deal" via Angie's List for grout cleaning and sealing on a couple of floors. I honestly couldn't tell that anything had been done after he was finished - the floors were not installed that long ago either. Maybe I had unrealistic expectations, but the grout really wasn't that bad. I'd noted some gathering dirt, and when I called the installer they snootily asked me if the floor had been sealed (I assumed they had done it....). Since they apparently had not, I wanted to address that. Since the work has been done by Grout Doctor, I've noted additional discoloration so apparently either sealing is not the issue or he didn't do a good job. I just have to get down on my hands and knees and go at it. I would recommend Grout Doctor for smaller jobs or just be sure you discuss up front what you expect as a result of the work - I neglected to do that this time and thus didn't get the result I wanted.

He cleaned the floor of a shower and the marble walls. I was hoping that he would clean a little bit more than what he did. When I looked at the floor when he was finished, it looked like he had barely cleaned it. The tile floor was a little better but the marble didn’t look as good. I’m not an expert with grout cleaning but I was a little disappointed with the results.

John was straight forward and listened to my concerns. He investigated the areas of concern in the bathroom and suggested how to go about repairing it. He always returned calls promptly and answered any questions. After the work was complete he left a note to assure me that the tiles were only loose and the backing was fine. I appreciated that as a new homeowner. Finally, I can't believe how clean he was able to get the tile grout in the kitchen. I had thought the grout was a dark brown, but it was supposed to be an antique white. Looks much cleaner.

The Grout Doctor was very flexible on scheduling. Came in to do a quick evaluation of what needed to be done and then it was easy to schedule the day and he did a great job. I'd definitely use him again.

John returned all calls promptly, and was on time both for the estimate and to do the work. He is knowledgeable and friendly. We asked about a marble counter in another bathroom that was damaged and he told us it wasn't worth working on, but should be replaced. We appreciated his honesty, especially as he could have gotten more work from us by trying to fix it. He also did not try to push us into frequent re-sealing and was quite casual about how long it had been since we had sealed the tile and grout. The work he did was exactly right and he took care to keep the work area clean. The bill matched the estimate and John even subtracted for an Angie's List coupon. We had never mentioned the discount and in fact, had mentioned the referral from Angie's List only in passing when leaving the first phone message. I would definitely use John again and have already recommended him to a friend. As an aside, I really appreciate being able to hire someone in my community to do work in my home, especially when they do the work themselves.

Our shower grout is a constant challenge for me with two teens who shower way too long. The Grout Doctor did kill all the dark spots in the grout and cleaned it nicely. With normal maintenance, the shower stayed mildew free for almost a year. I have been able to keep the shower clean myself with some new products I found on the market. If the mildew got out of control, I would probably get this service again.

The caulking in the master bathroom was done very well. It looks brand new again. The backsplash in the kitchen look pretty good as well. We did have one problem. I don't know why but he decided to recaulk the sink in the kitchen even though we just had the new sink installed. We did not ask him to recaulk it. He just did it. Despite his best efforts on two different trips, the new caulking job on the kitchen sink hasn't ever looked as good as it originally did.

He was good and I was happy with the job. He was very personable and did what the Big Deal coupon said. The caulking of the sink was part of the Deal. He came through with the right kind of communication at the right time and there was no problem at all. He did do a little extra patch-up work for me that was nice, so he went beyond what he really had to do. I had a very positive experience with him and I am sure if The Grout Doctor runs another coupon with Angie's, I will probably snag it. I don't really have the means of comparison on the price and of course it was a coupon with Angie's List, but I felt it was a fair price for what I got. I am sure the guy did everything he could to get all the dirt he could out. His responsiveness was fine and his punctuality was good.
