Description of Work: They replaced the garage door opener on a rental unit. Since my husband owns the rental unit he had told the provider to call when he arrived at the unit (we live very close by). It was agreed that the provider would not arrive before noon since my husband had a morning appointment. The provider arrived significantly before noon (around 10:30am). Fortunately I was still home but had intended to go to a class which I had to miss to accommodate the provider. He said he understood that he was just supposed to call when he arrived and was not aware of the later scheduled time that we had requested. Other than that the work went fine and we were satisfied with the job.

Description of Work: Jessie is FANTASTIC. He wasn't at the house when I left to pick up my grand kids from school. When I got home (20 minutes?) he was PULLING OUT of the driveway. Garage door fixed and he was on his way.

Description of Work: Woke up and the garage door would not go up. Quick look showed the spring was broken. Better Built was out within 3 hours even though their schedule was packed that day. Had the job finished quickly with no muss. Would recommend.

Description of Work: Garage door spring went out. Another vendor failed to show up at 8am, Better Built Doors came out that evening and fixed the doors and gave a lifetime warranty for the set of springs they installed. Cost $50 more than the previous vendor bid that did not show but was worth it.

 + -1 moreThey were prompt, professional, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced. They also programmed my car built in opener button, and even installed an extra garage door lock latch at no extra cost for another garage door (this was after the work was done/paid for).
Description of Work: Remove/replace garage door opener with quality Liftmaster belt-drive opener, including opener, wall-mount interior push button, exterior keypad, and dispose of old opener ($300). I added on a key chain remote for an additional $30.

 + -1 moreOwner was knowledgeable and explained benefits of different models to me over the phone. I called about half a dozen companies with many who never called me back or do not have the model in stock or simply don't carry it or not available for a weeks. He called me back right away and quoted me a price of $400 installed with his current "promotion" because he has a "good buy." He quoted not hidden charges and did not charge me extra for removing old garage door opener or for its disposal. He was available the very next day and was punctual. He finished the job in 1 1/2 hours which is less than the 2 hour maximum he quoted. He was fast, efficient and put safety stickers on the door. He up-sold me a second remote ($30,) a keyless entry pad ($30,) a surge protector ($25) which is required for the 5 year manufacturer's backup battery warranty. He also offered lifetime warranty on his installation. When all is said and done, the bill came to over $500 with tax and all the extra options.
Description of Work: Installed Chamberlain Lift-master 3500 garage door opener with back up battery.

 + -1 moreIf I ever need a garage door repairman again I will call Jesse! His service was amazingly promp and effective. His manner was polite and helpful. I recommend Jesse without reservation.
Description of Work: Jesse replaced the spring and reinforced garage door opener arm. He asked probing questions to determine the source of the problem. He replaced the spring with a higher rated one to handle our frequent garage door usage. He also observed the way the arm was fastened and suggested he reinforce it, at no charge, to prevent it from pulling out of the door.

 + -1 moreTHE GARAGE DOOR WAS STUCK SHUT AND WOULD NO LONGER OPEN. THE BETTER BUILT DOOR CO CAME OUT TO ASSESS THE SITUATION AND DETERMINED THAT THE DOOR COULD BE REPAIRED. THE LIFTING MECHANISM WAS REPLACED AT A FRACTION OF A NEW DOOR ETC.
