Great. Responded more quickly than other electricians I called and was able to schedule an appointment within one week. Bobby was professional and provided accurate and detailed information during the estimate and at the time the work was done. His crew was clean and efficient. I plan to use them again for future projects.
Description of Work: Installed outdoor electrical for outdoor kitchen and lighting. Fixed indoor electrical to "un-cross" switches for two lights, installed timer for lights.

After purchasing a new surge protector that indicates power and ground, we noticed that 5 outlets in the living room were not grounded. We made an appointment with Bob, and he was able to figure out the best way to reground the outlets with the least hassle and expense. He gave us several different options and let us decide what we wanted. The whole job was done in about an hour and we were so impressed at his knowledge and efficiency. We will not hesitate to use Reputable Electric again for future needs.
Description of Work: We somehow lost grounding in some outlets and couldn't figure out why. After attempting the most obvious solutions ourselves, we contacted Bob and he was able to remedy the problem.

He showed up to do the estimate promptly on time, was very professional and listened very carefully taking notes the whole time. He asked the right questions, and pointed out exactly what needed to be done to accomplish the tasks. A couple of days later I received an itemized estimate. Not just a lump sum, but all work, all permits, all parts listed out and priced. We agreed to the estimate and set up a time for the work to begin and the electrician Jamie, was there on time and ready to begin. He worked very efficiently and pointed out things that he felt I should be aware of. Like a problem with the line coming into the house, that he felt needed work and advised me to call Puget Power to come out. I called Puget Power immediately and he spoke with the person on the line for me. An hour later Puget Power came out and fixed the problem. The job took two days and not a minute was wasted. Everything was completed properly and all cleanup was done to where you did not even know they had been there. They also called and set up the necessary inspections with the local city government. They drew up a diagram for the inspector noting all of the work done. They labeled the new panel properly, and added small all weather signs to the panel to note the generator and also on the outside of the house to alert anyone of the presence of the generator hookup. For anyone who reads this, I can tell you that Bobby and Jamie are true professionals, they are personable and easy to work with, I cannot give them a higher recommendation. But do understand that you have to be patient as they are in demand because they are very, very good. Thank you Bobby and Jamie, a job well done!!
Description of Work: We asked Bobby to upgrade our service panel and include the necessary hookup for a generator. Properly install two overhead fan/lights in our Rec room and Master bedroom with separate switches for the lights and the fans. Rewire the hot-water heater and properly ground the electrical system throughout the whole house. He also pointed out that our newly installed garage door motors were not wired correctly and that a freezer in the garage needed to be plugged into a GFI outlet. I asked him to complete those tasks also.

Bobby is the owner / operator of his business and it really shows. He's an exceptional electrician who takes pride in his work, provides customer service that is above and beyond and is a true pleasure to work with! He will always be my go to electrician for any project, large or small. I would say the challenge of our project was that it was an older home (1927 Craftsman) and we just didn't know what we would find when we started. It was pretty bad, some things had been updated, many had not and it was difficult to make sense (if there was any) of what had been done. Bobby was able to map the house pretty quickly and figure out what would need to be done to bring us up to code and to give us the configuration that we wanted. His instincts are spot on I think this ability is critical for an electrician, knowing the best and most logical places to put things (raceway, lighting, outlets), and how to make the wiring as unobtrusive as possible etc. He always kept his work geared towards future upgrades, since he knew we had plans to remodel the kitchen, bathroom and attic, which was great so we won't have to do anything major when we embark upon these projects. Another fantastic thing about Bobby is his creative problem solving ability. There were a few locations where we really wanted outlets and Cat 5e that were difficult to get to due to the structural components of the house. Bobby was able to figure out an alternative to configure everything exactly how we wanted it, without having to cut large trenches in the lathe and plaster, which we were very concerned about. There are so many thoughtful details that showed that they really considered how we would be living in the house. A good example is that we had them add an outlet in a closet since I wanted to put my printer and office equipment inside, so Bobby drilled a hole in the back, between the shelves, so the cords could go through to the outlet instead of around the front. I didn't request this, it didn't even occur to me, but it was an ingenious idea and a great solution! Bobby was there everyday, but even when he wasn't onsite, Cody who works with him, was fantastic and I had utmost confidence in his abilities, he was smart and great at his job. It's clear that Bobby is very hands on with the work, with his employees and with his clients. He's extremely responsive and would reply to my numerous emails with questions, additions or changes quickly although I know he was very busy. I really can't say enough wonderful things about Reputable Electric, they are honest, ethical, reliable, a solid value for the quality of work and craftsmanship and overall an exceptional company to work with. I highly recommend Bobby and his team!
Description of Work: Bobby removed the knob and tube wiring from our house, rewired everything for both electric, Cat 5e and cable, plus added new outlets and switches, added recessed lighting in the basement and new lighting in the closets and attic, created a raceway for future electrical upgrades, updated conduits and added a new junction box.

I needed some electrical outlets grounded, some appliances wired and plugged in and I needed new electrical outlets installed in the garage. REPUTABLE ELECTRIC showed up on time for both the initial estimate appointment and for the installation appointment. The work took a little longer than expected but the technician explained the entire job to me as he worked so there were no surprises. I have no complaints about the work at all. I am impressed by the quality and friendly service. I am already thinking about calling them back to install some lighting on my back patio. To keep the total close to the estimate I wasn't billed for the extra time troubleshooting the grounding issue.

My husband had worked on this problem for 2 days before deciding to call and electrician. The first company he called took all day to get back and couldn't come out until at least next week So I got on Angie's List: this is my first experience with Angie's List and I am very pleased. The response time from Reputable Electric and Bobby Scott was prompt and he was able to come out within record time, ie 30 minutes of talking to him. He worked on the lighting in the bathroom and bedroom for approximately 3 hrrs. I appreciate that he was able to explain everything to both my husband and I as my husband had been gone for most of the time Bobby was there. In addition we have other work that needs to be done and he gave us an estimate for a microwave installation. We have an older home, 40+ yrs and so many things don't seem to be what they should at that age. We are very pleased overall with our first Angle's List experience. Thank you
Description of Work: Bobby Scott called back within 2 hrs of calling . He was able to come within 30 mins after the call. The bathroom lights and bedroom light had stopped working ; my husband worked on this for 2 days and was not able to fix it. Excellent response time. My husband was gone for some of the time Bobby Scott was there but he stayed until my husband returned and explained everything to him since he had worked on this himself.

I had a bullet list of items to be done. Bobby, the owner, and Cody did a walk-through with us per this list and emailed an exceedingly detailed estimate back promptly. I really liked this because it showed he understood what we wanted and allowed us to see detailed costs for each line item. Bobby was always very responsive as I emailed questions. Bobby got the project started on the first day along with his two electricians; Jamie and Cody were skilled professionals and finished the job in two full days and two partial days because they had to work around our other contractor's timelines. We put in a change order for an extra can light, a dryer outlet and a shower can and all were very fairly priced and quickly done. At the end, Bobby came and made sure everything was completed to our satisfaction (it was). Bobby was great to deal with, treated us fairly and you have to respect the craftmanship and integrity that Reputable Electric brings to the job. This is not a large company that sends out a salesman. This is an owner operated business and Bobby stands behind his work. We plan on remodeling our kitchen soon and we will definitely call Reputable Electric.
Description of Work: Installed 10 cans (recessed lighting) in the living room, kitchen, downstairs bath, as well as a track lighting fixture above the fireplace. These were all on new circuits and new dimmer switches. Also a new dryer outlet, new light in the shower, new receptacles and light fixtures and switches in two bathrooms, plus a couple extra circuits for future range hood and microwave. This is an old house and much of the work required working in the attic above the living room and kitchen, where it is exceedingly difficult to move around due it's very cramped due to old, haphazard framing. The bid included all materials (except 4 lighting fixtures we provided).

Absolutely superior. The Reputable owner, Bobby, offered very constructive suggestions in helping us refine our lighting needs. His suggestions, which we used, met our needs while improving functionality and reducing cost. We got bids from two other highly rated electrical companies, and their review of our list of work was professional and their bids arrived quickly. However, they did not offer many suggestions concerning our lighting and fan needs. In the bids Reputable Electric came in the lowest by far, and Reputable helped us a great deal to define our exact needs. Those two factors were the main reason we selected Reputable Electric. On the job, Bobby and Jamie worked quickly and professionally. They quickly and graciously adapted to some changes that appeared as the work progressed. They were careful to cover everything as they worked, and when they finished working in a room, they cleaned the area exceptional well. We would definitely use Reputable Electric again and recommend them highly both for excellent work and reasonable prices!
Description of Work: New lights and fans installed: 4 cans in family room and 60 inch fan, chandelier on dimmer replacing a canned light in breakfast nook, 4 cans with LEDs on dimmer in study, 2 cans and 52 inch fan in guest bedroom, 2 cans and 60 inch fan in master bedroom, and 4 additional lights in the garage. Also installed a wall power switch for each of the three remote controlled fans.

We sent our a request for bids and in the same day we heard back from Bobby. He scheduled a time to come out and give an estimate. At the appointment we were impressed by how much knowledge he has in the area of home theater..he was able to advise us as to a good (but reasonable) blower fan to order, and had lengthy experience with generator installation. Our work was scheduled quickly and completed in the same fashion. The installers arrived on time, worked efficiently and professionally. Our invoice supported the agreed discounts and met the estimate we were given. More work in the future? We will gladly call Reputable.
Description of Work: Bobby and his employee installed two speakers to our back deck to connect into our sound system. In addition, a blower fan was installed in our gas fireplace and he completed an electrical panel change to wire in our new generator.

Each person knew what to do. Passed the city inspection with praise from the inspector. That shows me they know their business.

We had bought a new bathroom fan/light/heater and my husband pulled out the old thinking it might be easy to install himself. Once he got the old one out he realized that someone would have to go up into the attic to install the holders in the celing joists. So we found Reputable Electric and got a quick response from Bobby Scott. The installer came out today. He was friendly and quickly completed the job. My husband said he did a fantastic job. Everything works perfectly including the new fixture and the new switches. He did not leave any mess and everything looks beautiful. My husband said that it was the most professional job we've ever had done for us.
Description of Work: We had a new bathroom fan/light/heater installed. The installer had to go into the attic to install the holders and connect the ductwork. He cut the hole from the previous fan a little bigger to fit the new one. He also converted our old 4 switch outlet to a 3 switch one since our old fixture had four functions.

The power went out on most of the third floor of our town house. No circuit breaker was tripped. A mystery? I called several electricians who told me they could not get to the call at least for 48 - 72 hours. When I called Reputable Electric, I talked to the owner, Bobby Scott. He walked me through several "possible" causes and cures, but to no avail was the power restored in that area of the house. He was able to come to the house within an hour's time. WIthin 30 minutes, the problem was solved. Crisis averted. We were back with power before the evening. I will recommend Reputable Electric to anyone who needs an electrician.

Bob came out to give us an estimate. He was prompt and courteous, and sent me an estimate within a day. The price was right in line with what I expected, so I called to schedule the work. Bob's crew arrived on time and got right to work. The actual electrical work was well done, however Bob's crew made a mess of our landscaping in trenching for the conduit. We recently had our back yard landscaped and as part of that work they put down 3-4 inches of fine gravel around our work area and compacted it to make a hard, level surface. When digging for the trench, Bob's crew did not separate the gravel from the dirt when they dug the trench. When my wife got home as they were finishing up she observed the the entire area around the trench was a mixed mess of dirt and gravel and also the ditch was only loosely filled and not compacted as it had been. When my wife talked to the crew, they said the "first rain will clear this up", apparently not understanding how fine, dense gravel compacts and drains. We also had a large stone set flush in the gravel to prevent a drip line forming from rain dripping off the shed's roof. This rock had to be moved to put in the conduit and was not put back correctly. My wife was in distress over the state of our beautiful new landscaping and just sent the crew on their way. She then spent an hour or more doing what she could to fix the mess they had made.

Member, Sorry to have dissapointed you. We definately are not professional landscapers. We should have been more careful with this delicated situation, not realizing how delicate it was. This whole time, no body has talked to me. This is the first I have heard of it. The apprentice who dug this took this as a learning experience. Have a good day.

We had a tough situation for a ceiling light fixture to be mounted up in a condo where there was no junction box. Other electricians plainly told me that it couldn't be done without making additional holes in the dry wall but Bob from Reputable Electric came up with a really intelligent way of doing the electrical job without a single additional hole! Jamiee came in and finished the job early and extremely well and Bob charged me lesser than the initial quote (since job finished faster). Highly recommend Reputable Electric.

Received response call promptly and made appointment for estimate. Bobby was knowledgable and professional. He obtained the permit from the city and even offered to schedule with the city for inspection after completion. Not wanting him to take his time, we scheduled inspection. Work was completed within a week of receiving estimate. He actually did a little additional work at no charge. Bobby was here to oversee and get his workers started. Work completed on time and in a professional manner. We would hire again.Received Angie's List discount.

We were living in the house which meant the electricians had to work around us. The first week they worked primarily in the basement and had to drill lots of holes through the basement rafters for the wiring. We tried to be proactive and cover everything we could with plastic as there was lots of wood chips and dust from the rafters. They were here for two weeks from 7:00-5:00 and worked really hard everyday. They were very respectful of us and our home and easy to work with. By the end of the first week, we were leaving them in the home while we went about our business and we never had any concerrns about leaving the house to them. This was a big project and we made the right decision by hiring them. Bobby has the knowledge, experienceand skill necessary and we will hire him again when we remodel the main floor.
Description of Work: Our home was built in 1940 and had the original knob and tube wiring and electrical panel. The detached garage had an electrical panel as well with underground wiring into house. The house is a single story with a fully finished basement. The knob and tube wiring was installed in the attic. We needed all new electrical including additional outlets and installation of 24 can lights in basement ceilings. The City of Tacoma requires new meter boxes be installed where they can easily be seen so the meter box was moved from the front of the detached garage in alley to the the side of the garage and a new mast was necessary. We removed all the ceilings in the basement and dug the trench from the garage prior to the start of the job. The new wiring for the basement was installed in the rafters in the basement ceiling. The main floor walls and ceilings are lathe and plaster. The kitchen has tile walls and backsplash. In order to keep the damage to a minimum to the walls, the wiring was done through the attic and fished down through the walls. This was a perfect solution and we had virtually no damage to any of the walls upstairs.

They came over and checked out the track light. It was easy to diagnose the problem, and I'm glad it was an easy swap out. The ceiling fan added a little more drama because they had to find the dip switches in the first place. Now the ceiling fan and light doesn't come on by themselves in the middle of the night. I'm happy.

I called about 11:30 AM. Bobby promised to call later in the day to schedule a visit. He called back about 4:00 PM and came onsite at 5:00 PM. (Same day service. Who does that anymore?) He worked for about an hour making sure he had all aspects of the problem identified then in about 1/2 hour had everything put back in working order. Only part used was a single duplex (2-outlet) receptacle. I will definitely hire Reputable again when I need electrical work done.
