On the 1st day of the sale, they sold items at the full price. The 2nd day of the sale, they sold items for 50% off, and the 3rd day of the sale, the items were sold at 25% off. I was afraid we would not sell much on the 3rd day, but when the day came, we still sold many things. This told me they priced the items correctly from the beginning. Ninety percent of the items were sold, and those that were not sold, were boxed up and donated to the organization of choice. They did everything they said they would do, plus they have a far better way of showing the invoicing of the sale. They use a computer program that organizes all items sold for $50 into categories, and all items sold over $50 are itemized individually. For the donated items they use a program which is acceptable to the IRS using the items and their market value, so when filing your taxes, you can just attach the print out they provide. Besides the commission fee they earned off the final sale, the only other cost involved was a small fee after the sale, to dispose of the items we deemed to have no value that were not sold or donated. Their entire business revolves around knowing the street value of what the items will realistically sell for, in which their knowledge was exceptional. They were extremely honest, and I felt comfortable giving them a key. The proof in the pudding was when one of the owners found $200 cash in one of my mother?s purses, and she handed me the cash.
Description of Work: I interviewed 6 different companies and used PW Green for an estate sale. When working with estate sale companies, it is very important to find a company that is honest and knows what they are doing. I've had to use estate sale companies twice, so I've had some experience choosing companies and knew what I was looking for. It took them 2 weeks to organize, display, and price every item in the house. It was a daunting task, and they did all of it for no money up front. They did not charge us for any advertising, which consisted of emailing 100s of customers on their mailing list, displaying the sale items on their website prior to and during the sale, and running ads in the local newspapers. They said 100s of people would come to the sale, and I would say about 300-400 people came.
