Rainier Garage Door

It took while to schedule to schedule the door consultation and the installation, but in the end all went well. Design process was easy and the consultant didn't try to upsell, and try to have us buy more than we needed. The price quote and breakdown was very clear (the price for the door, the installation, keeping our old opener vs. installing a new one) having it all written down by the consultation. Called them back, mailed the signed copy of the quote and the deposit. It took a week or two, and a message or two to schedule the appointment which would be in another 6-8 weeks. Door installer was a little late (30-60 minutes) for the scheduled time, but still finished by the time they previously stated. The installer also identified that the floor wasn't completely level so he came back the next week to install a larger bottom rubber stopper. Months later, door still works great no problems.

We purchased our garage doors and an opener from Rainier several years ago and have loved them. The garage door opener would not close and acted like something was blocking the sensor. It also was a bit loud during operation. I called on a Thursday and they were able to come out the next day. Unfortunately, neither my husband or I could get off work to meet the repair person, but were able to pay over the phone and arrange for them to complete the repair without us present. He replaced the wheels with a quieter version, realigned the sensor and checked out everything for routine maintenance. He arrived early, completed repairs promptly and left our receipt with the folks renting our downstairs apartment. Everything works great now, Rainier did a fabulous job! The only thing I would ask they do differently is to put the receipt in an envelope and seal it, as it had our credit card number on it :-\

I would recommend Rainier. Garage door broke, and it looked like the lift wires. Contacted via email through angie's. I called them back after a little phone tag and they walked me through the potential scenarios and offered me the List deal that cut my costs considerably. They scheduled me for Wed., but they were able to get here on Tuesday (after fair warning). Technician immediately noticed the spring was broken (clearly visible where I didn't think to look). Door is working again and is so quiet I can hardly believe it. This is an OLD door, and you can't hear it opening or closing from inside the house anymore. Amazing.

My garage door opener broke this morning and I immediately went to Angie's list to look for service. After a few phone calls to other garage door companies, none of whom were able to come today, I called Rainier Garage Door. After a few good laughs with the receptionist about the smoke I saw coming from my old unit, she talked to me about approximate costs as well as the products they use. She was able to schedule a service call for this afternoon, with a window of two hours. Shelby called the house with an approximate arrival time, arrived as planned, listened to what had happened this morning, then immediately went to work. Two hours later, the work was complete. I am totally pleased with the entire transaction today. The prompt and very friendly service and top of the line product was worth the price paid. Should I have need for anything garage door-related, I will call this company again. I am a happy customer as well as a happy Angie's List member.

Great experience overall. Friendly folks to set up the appointment, Danny was punctual (called before the appointment) and did his work efficiently. After he replaced the rollers, he showed me how to do future basic maintenance. Fantastic.

The tune-up was performed as an assessment of minor repair work, and led to a couple of small parts being replaced in our assembly, as well as the rails being lubed and the entire door adjusted for balance.

I used a Big Deal Silent Package which included the lube, tune and rollers. I called on 12/10/12. The technician came out on 12/13/12. Originally scheduled for 10:30-12:30, he finally made it out at 1:30pm. He did call to let me know. He did the work efficiently and showed my everything he was doing. He also realized the coupon had a mistake - wrong price for the nylon rollers - but gave my the lower price as stated in the Big Deal without hesitation. He left me an invoice showing I had paid and showing the specifications of my garage doors and what he did.

It was fine. They were on time. They did a good job. I just had the impression they're going to do more.

It was good work. They were prompt, knowledgeable and courteous. It was a pretty straight forward operation, and the transmitter was basically a plug in a box in the outlet and they brought the wires up to the outlet.

They came when they said they would. They were easy to get in touch with. They did what they were supposed to. Overall, the service was good.

I called for service and was able to get service Tech the next day. He gave a complete look-over and service all components, Replaced the rollers He showed me how to lubricate hinges properly. did not take him very long to complete job. The doors had not been service since they were installed 5 or 6 years ago but all that needed replacing were the rollers.

It went well, the tech was on time, finished the work promptly, and was clean and courteous.

Overall this was a easy and satisfying experience. I'm glad we had the job done as our house is about 18 years old and according to Danny, garage door mechanisms don't usually last that long, especially with a broken spring, which could have affected the motor, and would make it a lot more expensive.

I read up on their website and looked at the work that needed to be done, so I had a good idea about it. The cable on my chain drive door had snapped, but looked like it could be replaced with commodity 1/4" or so steel cable, cut to size. I didn't want to mess with doing this and adjusting the garage door, so I called Rainier Garage Door. The person I talked to said they could repair the cable, and quoted a price. They had a nice special on tune-ups as well, and two of my garage doors had been noisy, so I ordered the cheaper option of that, with plastic rollers good for 10,000 cycles, or about 8 years with my garage usage. When Danny came out, he spent 5-10 minutes talking us out of the plastic rollers and into the nylon, saying they could even be transferred to new garage doors, when we bought them. They last 100,000 cycles instead of 10,000. He also said he didn't want to repair the cable, that a special cable would need to be ordered from the manufacturer, and if we did that he would have to come out again and charge us again for the service call: they don't make any calls for free, but instead charge a minimum of $89 to come out. He pointed out the door was too large for this opener (probably true, it's an 8' door) and it needed a jack-screw opener. He quoted me two good systems from lift master, one for $600 and one for $900. I checked Amazon and the $600 one was available for $329. He said I could buy it and he could come out and install it, but he could see it would be a couple hours labor to install, so $89 for first 1/2 hour, then $120 for the next 1.5 hours. It came close enough to a wash that I said 'fine' and we bought the opener from his company. They didn't have it on the truck, but he worked overtime the next day and came and installed it. Everything is nicely adjusted, and the new opener works great. The work was done in a timely and professional manner. However, I wound up spending $1,000 instead of the $350 I intended, and was a bit unhappy with that.

The garage door decided to stop working at the worst possible time. I couldn't be there so my wife's grandfather had to play the middleman during the install. The availability was great as I needed it fixed ASAP. The repairman came that same morning although at the very end of the time window. He basically said everything had to be replaced except the door. I would have liked to get at least one competing quote but I just had him do the work. I have no idea if the price was that great or not and whether it is good quality. The warranty on the springs he put in he said was 20 years. Although I didn't get any paperwork. I didn't have any personal contact with the tech so can't comment there. He got the work done in a few hours and it has been working well ever since.

They were completely on time and did great work. My door used to be loud and now it is much quieter.

It took about an hour. He first checked all the door parts, tightened loose fittings, and checked the bearings in the rollers. The bearings were well worn, and he said it would be simple to replace them with new rollers, but that was an extra cost, not associated with the advertised tune up. He replaced the rollers and the door works well. I am satisfied with their service.

The technician, Daniel, called to tell me he was on his way. Arrived punctually and got straight to work. Thought the rollers were bad and would replace with nylon. I had plastic and he told me nylon was much better. He showed me how the rollers were replaced but told me that one has to be knowledgeable about how to do it or you could really mess it up. He also adjusted the tension of the springs, so that the door was balanced. He then told me about how to tell if the balance was good - disconnect the opener from the door, manually lift, and see how well it holds in place. He also told me that putting more tension on the springs can help the balance, but the springs would probably wear out more quickly, but the balance was important so that the door opener doesn't wear out. And he told me to do this balance test once a year to keep on top of it. Also show me how he likes to adjust the manual door lock, so that it doesn't engage and lock by accident, perhaps also damaging the opener. And he did the extra step of adjusting the tension on that release mechanism per my request. And then he greased the opener drive track and told me the proper grease to use. Finally, somewhere in there he told me he really loves his job and it definitely showed. He really wanted to educate me on how to properly maintain my door. I could not ask for a better experience.

The technician, Danny, called prior to arrival, and arrived within the service window that I had been given. He inspected the door and went right to work. He explained what he was doing and told me what maintenance items I could do on my own to help keep the door working properly. Danny was efficient, courteous, and very competent, answering all my questions. I would definitely recommend Rainer Garage Door and will use them if I need any future garage door work performed.

Our garage door had stopped working. I called and got an appointment that was convenient for me. The technician arrived promptly, quickly diagnosed the problem and gave me a reasonable bid for the repairs. He also recommended some preventative maintenance and an upgrade to the system that made sense to me. Our garage door has never worked better.

Repair person came out in 2 days after I called--checked the door (old, wooden, one piece 2 car garage door). Because it was so old--put in in 1969, it couldn't be fixed. The tech was very professional and quick-- Fortunately I was able get my $99 reufnded.

I called another 24-hour who came and was going to charge me $540 and I said no, so I while he was still here I called Rainier from Angie's list and they gave me a quote but couldn't come until the next day. Then I told the first company not to do it. Then they said they would do the job for the same price as Rainier or even lower. I said "no" because you tried to rip me off at first. Rainier came the next day and fixed it for the quoted price.

I was disappointed with the deal. He did a little bit of work and tried to charge me for repairs that I didn’t think were necessary.
