"Our apologies. It's never good to disappoint a customer. We would like to be perfect but we are not. We have emergencies just like everyone else and when we do, we do our best to try and remedy the problem as quickly as possible. Having a full time customer service staff to work the problem is a start. This particular issue was a medical emergency that could not be predicted or avoided. We tried to reschedule the work but could not find a time acceptable to the customer."
"We are sorry the call dropped but we are not in the habit of hanging up on customers. We do provide some free estimates but the nature of the work we do is not very conducive to providing estimates on every job we take on. If the work is going to be a couple of days or more we are happy to stop by and preview the work and provide a rough estimate so we know how much time to schedule. We do a hundred jobs a week and are not able to preview every project as we would spend all our time previewing and none of our time doing. "Thank you for contacting us. Sorry the phone call dropped. We promptly called back and we did speak with you and we did recognize the discount. We were told you were not ready to schedule. To provide the best in customer service we have full time staff who answers the phones M - F 8am to 5pm. If our phones are full we call back voice messages very promptly during business hours. If you need to get a hold of us to discuss your projects please give us a call and let us share how we can help."
"Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We would of course prefer the feedback be positive but we realize that we are not perfect and need to address issues at our end when the project does not go as planned. This project started off being a simple one. We were asked to remove the old wood stove threshold and replace it with tile. This is a very small area and we have done these types of projects in a single day. Your project started off this way but quickly became more challenging as the old floor surface proved to be significantly more difficult to remove and you requested that the tile be laid on angle. We worked for 10 hours on the first day but only charged for 8 because at least two hours were less productive due to the need to procure more aggressive tools for the job. The project required follow up visits which were scheduled and addressed in a timely manner. We informed the customer of the higher costs of a complex tile layout but they choose to go with it and knew the costs would be higher. We even provided discounts on costs to keep the project under control. We do our best to set and meeting expectations and in this case we couldn't predict the full costs up front but we also did not charge more than what was asked for. "In addition to getting feedback on the Angie's List site we also call and email each customer about the project to ensure that things went as expected. We do our best to schedule a block of time based on the project needs but please remember that we are not doing repetitive tasks. We are working on old, flawed or broken areas and the time needed to complete a project on these is only a guess. We do not bill for unused contingency time but rather for the productive time it actually takes to complete the job. As soon as we know it will take more time than the scheduled block of time we will stop and review this with the customer before moving on. We do our best to set proper expectations but it is not always easy to meet those. On this particular job we followed up with the customer and felt there may have been a couple of non-productive hours. We provided a refund of 2 hours of time which allowed the invoice total to meet the expectations. Customer said they were very happy about this and would update the review to be a higher grade."
"No matter how hard you try, there are times when it'[Member Information Removed] not possible to be perfect. That is why we do follow up calls and surveys to be sure we have met the objectives. We were running behind on this morning but to get this project back on track, we provided the assistance of another technician who helped for half a day of time that we did not bill for. Our measurements were not wrong but we did determine that the initial solution was not possible as there was an attic appliance in the way, so we provided a different solution. We used the paint that the customer provided and approved before applying. Only after it was applied did she not like the shade so we re-painted with another paint. Even though we had to re-design the solution, the final price charged was almost exactly the same as the estimated cost. We work in people'[Member Information Removed] homes so we do clean up after ourselves but if we missed something we would be happy to return to take care of it. We spoke with this customer a day or so after the work was complete and there was no mention of a mess so we didn't know to return to address one."
"Thank you for letting Mr Handyman help you with your projects and taking the time to provide feedback. One of these days we are going to be perfect. Until then we will always ask how the project went and follow up in case we are not. We completed what we could on the first visit and choose to wait on the secondary project rather than push forward because the risk was high the objective was not clear and the customer wasn't present. Better to be safe than sorry. This project took some thinking outside the box. It's not every day we get to fabricate a dance floor over carpet. I am glad this one worked out. Thanks Bob"
