Mr. Handyman of SE Bellevue

The drywall work was done very nicely, the corners are perfect and everything is smooth and ready for paint. Unfortunately, the house was a mess when he left. The carpets had dirt and leaves from dirty shoes and none of the the plastic drop cloths I left on the sofa were used. No 'zipper doors' or any type of containment was used; I spent about 3 hours after work trying to clean drywall dust off floors and other surfaces. They also used my vacuum to pick up drywall dust. I had to clean it before I could use it....It was just a mess. I've worked with other contractors and didn't have this problem, I'd just discuss this up front next time. The price was on the high side.

They were supposed to show up at 2 in the afternoon, but instead called us at 2pm nd told us they needed to reschedule. They explained the job before us had run later than expected. I would have appreciated a call earlier. However, they came out within 2 weeks, which was agreeable. They did an outstanding job! The roof extended further than normal over the gutter opening, so they did most of it by hand. They cleaned up everything as they went along. there was nothing on the ground after the job. You wouldn't have known they were there except for the gutters working so good. We also had some moss on the roof, so they treated all of it. They were very informative about everything that they did, however I would have liked for them to have told me that they were going to buy moss treatment. The guy who did the work was not very professional though. He did not thank me for the job, and just left as soon as he was done.

This is a very professional company. The service person arrived right on schedule in a nice truck and was professionally dressed. Very professional demeanor. Got right to work. Worked quickly and did an excellent job. Also did a nice job of cleaning up. My only complaint is that I found the price somewhat expensive given the type of work involved and the time spent. I would consider using this company again for similar work, but would start by considering other options because I think it likely that other companies could do the same quality work at a somewhat lower price.

The employee worked very, very, slowly. I described the work to be done over the phone, and was told it would take about 2 hours. He was here for 6 hours and did not get half way down the list. He had no idea how to install a baby gate and installed it upside down. They did have him come back and do another several hours of work for "free" once I complained, so that was good. Overall, it was obvious he was working by the hour and wanted to make the job last.

They were just prompt on time. They did all the things that one needs a handyman to do. They showed up when they said they would show up. They stayed within the budget. I don’t think there is anything that they could improve on. There are things that I can’t do as I am a colorblind man. I am not a good wiring person either. They did everything just as expected.

Very nice and professional. I did not like the billing aspect. They did not tell me the price until they showed up at my home. They said it would be $247 up front for a service call. I was supposed to get a $25 dollar coupon but I have not received that discount yet. He was supposed to come back to install a nob for my shower, but I haven’t heard from him in about a week.

Based on our previous experience with Mr. Handyman successfully fixing a plexiglass crack in our solarium, we immediately thought of them when we discovered a leak in a different area of the same solarium. We asked for the same person (Vic) as before to do the work as we were very impressed with his work previously. He did a great job fixing the issue, finding an area of flashing that had bent up causing an opening for water to penetrate. He reattached it to the window and tighted and caulked all the screws on the rest of the flashing to help prevent other issues from showing up. The same leak had caused part of the crown molding in the solarium to pop off the wall, and he reattached it with a stronger fit. The work was completed in under 2 hours and so far there has not been a leak since.

After an accident in the repair of a different part of our solarium, we needed to get a crack fixed in a curved plexiglass window. Of all the people I called to ask about repair, Mr. Handyman was the only company that said they had a solution beyond replacing the whole window (which sadly was not possible due to the original solarium company being out of business). They warned that they couldn't warranty the work, but that they could fix it by caulking the pieces back together, then caulking another piece of plexiglass over top of the entire crack. Fortunately, because of the location of the crack, the repair was hidden under the metal flashing. Vic, the technician who did the work, was on time and very professional. He examined and measured the area from the roof and inside the solarium, then bought the necessary supplies and then did the work within a little over 2 hours. He was very thorough in his explanation of what he was doing and how it would work, and the final job was as good as it could be considering the situation. It has now been over 7 months since the repair with no leaks, so it was definitely a job well done. We would definitely use Mr. Handyman again, and did a few months later!

The work turned out great. I had old flooring that was cracked and worn out and the sub floor needed replacing due to rotting and mismatched wood. The handyman did a great job in replacing the subfloor, installing new flooring and moldings and resealing the toilets better than before.

When I initally called and I got someone right away. I asked for an estimate and let them know what I needed. I said I have a ceiling fan in my entryway for my split-level house so it's high and needed some electrical work done. I was told no problem as they could do the fan and any electrical work I needed. They had someone out there two business days later. It was a 2 hour minimum so I wasn't worried about the cost.The appt was for 2pm and he showed up around 2:30pm. His ladder wouldn't work in our house as it was too long not adjustable so he had to use ours. He gave the impression that he wasn't prepared for this job. He then spent around 20 minutes of the 2 hr job looking at the first light switch junction. Admittedly he was confused, so It would have been better if at the beginning if he would have said there is nothing I can do with the electrical and left then without wasting my time and money. He left some of his tools and an exposed light switch wires when he left and when it started getting darker we tried to use the lights in the kitchen and dining room they did not work. We called them and let them know what happened and they did not send anyone back out as the electrical work was too complicated and we needed to hire an electrican. Bob did at least call PK Electric who I have used before and called me back to let me know they were available to come out and finish the job. Unfortunately now we are two nights without lights in two rooms and almost worse off then when they started. I know Mr. Handyman only does simple jobs and I expected that this was one. As I said before the person that came to my house knew he couldn't finish from the beginning and shouldn't have started the job. The guy that came out was nice enough though but was late and right at 5pm left in a hurry. Not a very satisfying experience.

They were unable to fix the siding as that took specialized siding expertise, I found a siding guys on Service Pro that easily fixed the siding. Of everything on the list they were only able to caulk the gutter corners. It's nice to have people that are willing to work on three story structures, although they were a bit shaky up that high.

It’s a very good company and they don’t get so private about the costs. They did what they said they were going to do for the price they said they would do it for.

They are punctual. The workers are professional.

It went very well! He suggested that I get gutter covers so I had him install them. I have not had any problems.

Excellent, professional work. A very skilled tradesmen, but a small and flexible shop. Very willing to go the extra mile to make everything just right. We will absolutely use these folks again.

He was good, responsive, came out quickly and did a fine job. I spent $255 on that work.

I had a bad experience with them it was weird. I had an estimator come out and gave me an estimate for $1200, which was the lowest estimate I received from two or three people from Angie’s List. I questioned him on it saying the quote was great but considering what I got from others, are you sure it’s the right amount and would you stand by the quote. He said yes. They sent another person to actually start the work and then when they got here the price almost tripled. It went from $1200 estimate upto $2800, it’s almost $3000. I told them that well that’s not what I agreed upon. I forwarded the whole email threads that I had with the first estimator to them but they did not do anything. I wouldn’t say they did anything well because it was really misleading. The other thing I thought was weird was when the second guy came out and told me that it’s going to cost $3000 instead of $1000. He called me, gave his private line, and said he could do the work off the book, on his own, on weekend outside the company and that he would do it for less money. If I wanted, I could have done it behind the owner’s back. In terms of price, it was different. The original cost was way below that. Honestly probably if I recount it might cost couple of thousand dollars. Actually, the whole experience has put the project on hold because I don’t have time to deal with it. They did not re-tile the bathroom; they did not say a word. They came out and showed me the price list triple the cost and I said forget it. In terms of punctuality, the first guy was an hour and a half late. The second guy was on time. I don’t know. One time it was great and the other time it was bad. I would not use them again in the future.

We had some damage from a carpenter ant infestation. Vic showed up on time, did what was needed, was able to reuse some of our siding for the repair, cleaned up the worksite, and removed some interior cabinets. The work looks great, and it was very close to the original "bid" (a difficult feat, as we didn't know how much damage had been done to the mudsill and stud). I would definitely use them again.

They were fantastic! They were prompt and incredibly helpful. They gave me many tips. I am looking around for other things for them to do around the house. The pricing was also very fair.

Very well! The gentleman was on time, very professional, explained everything beforehand, and immediately went to work. The door/threshold had been worked on previously two times, but the leak would not go away. Mr. Handyman really did a great job in fixing it his first attempt at it. Thanks.

I called in the morning and Mr. Handyman was able to send Brian out to take care of this project -- which had been on my "honey-do" list for about four months. Brian did a great job designing and installing the needed ductwork. I now have a functioning fan over my stove -- yeah! My husband was even impressed with his work. Brian first came out to see what was needed and then made a trip to Home Depot to get parts. The actual work took about two hours with an additional hour spent going for materials -- three hours total charged plus parts. Overall, I feel like it was worth it to have the project completed in a fast and professional manner.
